The very first Bark Psychosis compilation, originally released in 1994, has now been repressed. Independency is a series of singles first issued between 1989 and 1992 and it charts Bark Psychosis' extraordinary period of evolution prior to the creation of their lone studio LP, Hex. Opening with the delicate "I Know," the set grows by leaps and bounds, expanding in complexity and innovation over the course of tracks like "Manman" and "Tooled Up" before culminating in the 21-minute improvisational ambient opus "Scum," perhaps the band's definitive moment.
