Originally released as a picture disc in 1986, this is
D-Day
's first LP, presenting a beautiful mix of minimal synth, new wave, and bossa nova. The band was formed in October 1982 and became well-known in the Japanese indie scene. They spent over 200 hours in the studio for recording. At that time, even for major label bands, it didn't take that much time to record an album. However, as D-DAY was not a major label band, they were free to craft their own narrative. Thus, they had a lot of time to experiment with their dreamy melodies, whisper-like vocals, programmed beats, and swirling guitars. A unique album!
