Golightly first came to musical prominence as a member of Thee Headcoatees, a Billy Childish/Thee Headcoats all-girl splinter group, and established her distinctive blend of folk, early electric blues, and '60s-beat-influenced rock 'n' roll with her 1995 debut solo album The Good Things; she's since honed this sound over the course of 13 well-received solo albums.
