"Recording some new love music: after the unforgettable Vollkontakt EP, label-heads Stephan 'The Fist' Hill and Oliver 'The Brain' Deutschmann are back together as Gowentgone to once again save deep house from it's sophisticated isolation, getting him back on track. The message comes thru with 'Love & Respect,' being the master track of the whole record and setting the standards: a bulletproof foundation made of bass and beats presents itself as a perfect stage for heroic drones opening the spaces without becoming too declamatory. Throw in some relaxed sermon by a guy called wisdom, add that little extra swing with some fancy hi-hats and there you go. The self explanatory tool version frames the experience albeit with more twitching and some healthy rumble, becoming best friends with those who play. In between, we find the sleeper of the record, ready to hit anytime, anywhere, the secret hit, hidden in fumes: 'Point Blank' makes the chords drip like honey and knows its way to the promised land, where percussion is always a good decision and euphoria is induced by knowledge and the right dosage.
