Down At Dawn presents a reissue of Grantstand, an essential part of guitarist Grant Green's discography, originally released in 1961. Recorded in 1961, Grantstand is Green's third album for the legendary Blue Note label. An excellent soulful and groovy session features Green leading a line-up consisting of Yusef Lateef (tenor saxophone, flute), Brother Jack McDuff (organ), Al Harewood (drums), and Ben Tucker (bass). Green's guitar tone matches perfectly with McDuff's organ sound and Lateef's warm tenor phrasings; this is swinging soul jazz at its best. Edition of 300.
