RELEASE DATE

2002 release.
Roc Hunter
melds creative talents with some of Rio's finest musicians on this album of laid back tropicalia, chilled-out grooves perfect for poolside lounging and heating up the dancefloor.
Paradise
is a merging of musical cultures, styles and production, firmly keeping its Brazilian roots alive. It celebrates the music of Rio De Janeiro, infusing electronica, samba and funk.
Joe Davis
and Roc Hunter conceived of
Mamond
and, loaded with a laptop and various other tools, flew to Rio and employed some of the finest musicians, many of which were great friends of Far Out Recordings. One key person was
Ivan
of
Azymuth
who helped co-ordinate many of the songs and arrangements for the album. All the material was laid down during intensive recording sessions in Copacabana and took almost a year to complete. This diverse album includes last year's Afro-centric hit "Que Coisa So" featuring existing members of
Banda Black Rio
(Rio's legendary funk group of the '70s) on horns and percussion from
King Salsa
(Brazil's only salsa orchestra). Many tracks feature fresh talents like the ethereal vocals of
Gabriella Geluda
on title the track, and
Noite De Verao
and
Cidinho Moreira
on percussion.
