"After several 12" releases on our own label as well as releases on Zip's Perlon imprint the long-awaited Manmade Science album is arriving in stores. Manmade Science is producer Michel Baumann aka Jackmate/SoulPhiction, who has several releases under this moniker on labels like Perlon, Playhouse, Freude am Tanzen....etc., engineer Nik Reiff who's working as the FOH-Mixer for the Stuttgart Musical and percussionist Benjamin Lieten aka Phlegmatic. To come close to the Manmade Science universe one has to understand that next to long-term friendship, the love for drums, record collections and soulful music is their connection. With the feeling of a raw live session, this masterpiece comes along in a variety between jazz and techno, soul and house. It also contains a live track from Manmade Science's concert at the JazzOpen 2004 in Stuttgart. Worth mentioning are also the many different collaborations with guest musicians like conductor, musical director and multi-instrumentalist, John Thrower playing the sax on the starter 'Chicago Sidewalks' and the last song 'Brown Sugar.'"
