In late 2012, Modeselektor and Apparat came together to reform their Moderat project. When the Moderat debut album was released on BPitch Control in 2009, Modeselektor decided to release an unofficial remix 12" on their newly-formed 50 Weapons imprint featuring remixes by Shackleton, Headhunter and T++. To follow this ritual, Moderat invited their friends Shed and Marcel Dettmann to contribute remixes for the new album II.
