The debut album from Chicago band
Ted Sirota's Heavyweight Dub
was recorded, mixed, and mastered by the legendary "Dub Chemist"
Overton H. Brown
, aka
The Scientist
. Sirota, a veteran of the Chicago music scene, decided to address his 30+ year love for Jamaican music by putting this new band together in early 2013. Only weeks after starting the band, Sirota had a chance encounter with one of his biggest influences, The Scientist. With this band, Sirota and cohorts hope to bring back some of the serious musicianship that was emblematic of the "golden age" of reggae. Through his original music, and arrangements, Sirota hopes to creatively pay respect to legends like
