And You The White Light Shining
. "Isaac Edwards has become known for his persistently patient and detailed work as the arranger and keyboardist for our band, Odawas. Time and again he has enveloped the gentle voices and songwriting with hints of danger, tangents of love and with endless amounts of emotion that may or may not have been there in the first place. As in life, Isaac likes to take music to its moment of fatality, where it must make a grasp for immortality or die penniless and alone.
I Dreamed A World Of Darkness And You The White Light Shining
was written as wedding music for a friend. Keep in mind, this is the same grown man who not only mentioned divorce in the first sentence of his best man speech at my wedding, but repeatedly pointed at me, forcefully proclaiming in the benediction voice of his own heavenly father, 'Love is war!' Love and music, which are one in the same for Isaac, are a war between morality and ecstasy, a war between beauty and responsibility. When he borrowed my copy of Popol Vuh's
Cobra Verde
soundtrack and asked me to come over and lay down a few guitar passages, I understood the epic undertaking Isaac was taking in his mind. Nothing is taken lightly here and I was reminded of the story of Francisco Manoel that Bruce Chatwin wrote of and Werner Herzog tapped for his greatest film."
