In summer 2014, Rejected label cofounder Joris Voorn took part in a Red Bull Studios Amsterdam project in conjunction with the Mysteryland festival, where he was to select a rising Dutch talent with whom to work on a new composition. Voorn chose Joran van Pol, the gifted Minus signing who also debuted on Rejected in 2015 with Perpetuous. Inspired by the project, Voorn invited van Pol to work on a release, and "Sonic Highway" was born. Voorn's mix features a bouncing melody while van Pol rolls out a much deeper, moodier, but urgent version with his mix.
