"The labels first solo artist album in the shape of the enigmatic Wee DJs. The aptly named
Fear and Lothian
features abstract electro and dark menacing beats from one of Scotland's finest electronic producers. By 1997 the 'Being' name had been dropped and The Wee DJs project began. The first release saw Dave feature on
The Death of Cool
compilation on Si Begg's label Noodles. The next 12" release
Wee Killed Him
(1999) released through Daz Quayle's SCSI/AV label, featured an electro version of the '80s pop tune 'Fame' and was followed by another 12" on SCSI/AV two years later titled 'Get Wee Soon.' They subsequently went on to release six twelve inches on the Sativae affiliated Gassoline label, and there have been other releases on Scotland's Diskono, Benbecula, and the Dutch Isis Label. Deft production that speaks of artificial intelligence and human soul makes for compelling entertainment here. This is the kind of creativity that reminds us why electronic music can be so exciting. It creates new ideas and emotions while still maintaining the kind of continuity that electro has come to expect."
