"For Chew, Tennessee & Other Stories... is the culmination of many paths leading out of the wilderness. Like how the waning South of old has given way to the new, his tale is a coming-of-age story starting with narrowly averted self-destruction and concluding in a painful resurrection. This theme is woven musically and thematically throughout Tennessee & Other Stories... as Chew pays homage to his southern beginnings, a lineage that includes tobacco farmers and Methodists, bluegrass musicians and evangelists, gamblers and alcoholics. Chew's skill as a multi-instrumentalist (he takes the reigns on most of the playing on the entire album) adds tremendous intimacy to his ability to fully relay the album's stories with a singular voice." "They're back. Heavy Winged has continued to stretch their leathery, scarred, er, wings and grow since their last release for Three Lobed Recordings, 2008's Alive In My Mouth. The band was determined to make Fields Within Fields into a significant part of their discography from the very outset. In October 2009, the band decided to enter the 5D Studios in Brooklyn to engage in what would be a first-time experiment - recording in a multi-track studio with overdubs planned from the session's start. Prior to this experience the band's entire catalog was centered on displaying their ferocious live spirit. Having already proven themselves to be adept at creating grand and heavy statements in an improvised, one-take-only setting, they felt that were ready for the challenge of being both improvisational and composition-minded. The band hunkered down for the session and even brought in some friends to help augment the Heavy Winged vibe. Their time in 5D yielded the two dark fruits which combine to form Fields Within Fields. Brutal and hard, 'Among The Maori' leads the album off and encompasses the entire first side of vinyl. The track opens with a slow, deliberate fade into Jed Bindeman's (Eternal Tapestry, Jackie-O Motherfucker) tribal drumbeat. This beat may start controlled but the track's velocity and volume continue to accelerate, eventually turning 'Among The Maori' into a highly tuned jet engine. Ryan Hebert's guitar playing is exceptional throughout, beginning with an initial prolonged banshee-like wailing and slowly building and fully giving way to a fantastically cranking and grinding post-metallic din by the track's conclusion. 'Among The Maori' stands out among the band's entire catalog as perhaps their truest moment. The album's second side is fully dedicated to the drone doom opus 'The Hum Of The Universe.'" Includes insert and bonus CD entitled Infinite In Every Direction.

"Along the lines of the prior subscription CD EP series, Purposeful Availment and Modern Containment, Oscillation III consists of ten CDs by ten different artists which were released over the course of 2008. These discs were previously only available through Three Lobed Recordings as a complete set and not a la carte. The only way to get this set was to subscribe to the series via mailorder. Each CD is at least 25 minutes long (or longer in most cases) and features new, exclusive material from that particular artist. Each disc is only available through the purchase of a complete set. Again, these discs will *not* be sold individually (except for a small number of copies of TLR-055). Similar to the previous two series, the set comes in a hand silkscreened slipcase to house the series. The slipcase for Oscillation III features new artwork from Robert Beatty of Hair Police. 10 CDs housed in mini-LP style sleeves with inserts. Housed in a silk screened slipcase." Contains the following CDs: Bark Haze - One For Merz; Bardo Pond - Circuit VIII; Tom Carter - Skyline Grinder; Lee Ranaldo - Maelstrom From Drift; Jack Rose - I Do Play Rock And Roll; The Michael Flower Band - The Michael Flower Band; Magik Markers - Gucci Rapidshare Download; Howlin Rain - Wild Life; GHQ - Everywhere At Once; Vanishing Voice - The Morning After.

"Hans Chew's skill as a piano player has previously been on display both in a complementary fashion to Jack Rose (appearing as a member of Jack's live backing band at Arthurdesh as well as on both The Black Dirt Sessions and Luck in the Valley) and as a integral member of D. Charles Speer & the Helix (including his vocal turns on both 'Life Insurance' off Distillation and 'Bar-Abbas Blues' off the In Madagascar 7"). This new single offers an expanded glimpse at not only Chew's songwriting prowess but also his powerful boogie-blues, bar-rockin' piano skills. Both tracks presented on this 7" are slated to appear on Chew's debut album, Tennessee and Other Stories, but appear in different versions exclusive to this release. The 7" itself is a vivid picture disc bearing stunning shots by Jake Cunningham and comes from a limited edition of 500 copies. This record is a joint release between Three Lobed and Divide By Zero."

"It is a tremendous understatement to say that it is with grand excitement that Three Lobed Recordings is proud to announce the release of Distillation by D. Charles Speer & the Helix. For the last couple of years we have been continually excited by each of the fruits that have resulted from Speer/Helix collaboration. For our money, 2008's After Hours album was one of the best released by anyone. Distillation only ups the ante from that prior full length by elaborating upon some of the musical themes from the late 2008 In Madagascar 7". The resulting album presents a tightly focused modern honky tonk quintet more than happy to blur the lines between country, psychedelia and the overall American musical tradition. Consisting on this album of D. Charles Speer (aka Dave Shuford from the No Neck Blues Band and Enos Slaughter), Hans Chew (last seen providing some ripping piano accompaniment on 'Fishtown Flower' from Jack Rose's The Black Dirt Sessions), Marc Orleans (Enos Slaughter, Sunburned Hand of The Man), Jason Meagher (No Neck Blues Band, Coachfingers) and Rob Gregory (the Suntanama), the Helix are a seriously experienced and talented crew. Distillation was recorded over time between the winter and summer of 2008 at the band's home away from home, Meagher's Black Dirt Studios in Westtown, New York. Includes a limited edition glass-mastered CD titled Of Snow Smoked Moose presenting a full, killer live set from the full band recorded on April 25, 2008 at the Turf Club in St. Paul, MN. This CD is not available separately." Gatefold sleeve.
