"Some things just take some time. Released four years ago already in a promo version strictly limited to 250 pieces and since then a desperately wanted collectors item, the three tracks of Kanzleramt mastermind Heiko Laux from his
Sense Fiction
period finally see the artificial light of the clubs and record shops -- after numerous delays due to pressing and mastering. 'Pik Ass' focuses on string melancholy with wiper sounds and functional dub tech structures. The rhythmic elementary particles are pulsating forward alternately, arousing undamped enthusiasm even on a restrained tempo level. Following the short snare intermezzo 'Schnittlaux (Cut Edit),' 'Eartha Kitt' is also based on a similarly sensual string, but imitates the Kitt-like 'rolled R' with bass-stressed synthie sounds in a percussive dub context. How lovely that the timelessly hypnotic tracks of the Berlin-based Heiko Laux finally can be heard by everybody!"
