Dutch electronic music duo Polynation returns to Atomnation with Bloom, a new EP featuring guest appearances from Itai Weissman and Eric Vloeimans. Polynation has always employed a wide range of gear to make their music, from synths, bass, guitar, and pedals to their unmistakable use of acoustic drums. This time, they have guest musicians Eric Vloeimans on trumpet and Itai Weissman playing saxophone and EWI -- a digital wind instrument. The EP is their investigation into the symbiosis between electronically generated sounds and acoustic wind instruments. It finds them playing wind instruments in unconventional ways to mimic the language of a synthesizer and contrasting them with electronic sounds that breathe and feel alive, as if acoustic. "We are particularly interested in the sonic world where the boundaries between electronic and acoustic sounds begin to blur," they explain. They now take that concept one step further on this latest outing. Bloom is another deep dive into the adventurous sonic alchemy of the continually innovative Polynation.

To mark the 10th anniversary of Gidge's landmark album Autumn Bells on Atomnation, the label has assembled a brand-new box-set reissue. This deluxe and expanded edition features a 60-page photo book, poster, the original double album plus a nine-track bonus vinyl with alternative edits and demo tracks from the time, all on transparent wax. The exclusive, limited-edition boxset comes with a private digital download link. Gidge is the Swedish duo of Jonatan Nilsson and Ludvig Stolterman, who has also taken all of the photos in the booklet. As friends since high school, they have a deep connection, a great understanding of one another and a shared love of Nordic woodlands. The spirit of the northeastern forests they grew up around has always colored their music and lent it an organic, ethereally, otherworldly edge that conveys feelings of inner peace. Their brilliant debut album Autumn Bells captured all that in nine accomplished tracks that picked up critical praise from the music media and millions of online streams. More importantly, it also won them a dedicated fan base who appreciate the art of Gidge's craft and the sensitivity of their sound. Autumn Bells is ambient electronic music that makes the heart and soul dance. It's a profound emotional journey of delicate sound design but impactful feelings. Mysterious soundscapes are infused with shimmering tones, indecipherable vocal spirits, gorgeous synth drones, shakers, wood blocks and neo-classical ideas that are deeply immersive and always beautiful whether beatless or woven into supple rhythms. Many tracks were made during the recording process but not all made the final album. Some can now be heard on the bonus disc including the beautifully lonely "Untitled Piano," or the found sounds of "MONO-000" which capture a wander through a wood before turning into a heartfelt neo-classical piano piece. There are demo versions of the mystic broken rhythm "Opal" and lo-fi lullaby "Once" plus the distant acoustic charms found throughout the album. On top of that, a 2024 version of "Dusk" has a darker mood and "Rest" (Other Version) has a more percussive and prominent rhythm while "You," "Growth" and "I Fell In Love" also get reworked with more defined drums but retain their ghostly allure.

Milio is back on Atomnation with his third full-length album, Invisible Lands. It is the glorious result of an artistic journey in which the Dutchman has discovered new production skills and techniques so he can translate the rich fantasy world of his childhood into a musical form using only analogue sound. Milio has always been a synth magician who paints with sound. His house music has always been steeped in color, emotion and great craft, and is often created on-the-fly using analog hardware. In recent times he has impressed with his immersive live show, launched his own label VIAVIA and joined a new group A# with French II, Alberta Balsam, and Bastian Benjamin in order to further explore improvised live experiments.

Démarrage is the first collaborative album by producers Applescal and David Douglas. The idea of creating a track inspired by cycling has been in their minds for several years. David Douglas and Applescal both share a deep passion for the road. In the summer of 2023, they decided to come together to write a track. Full of inspiration and atmospheric ideas, this evolved from a rough concept into a collection of tracks. What initially began as an idea for a single track quickly grew into the full-fledged electronic album Démarrage.

Gidge makes a welcome return to Atomnation with an immersive new five-track EP, Tundra. It features the single "Bleak" which was their last release following their superb 2020 album, New Light. "Bleak" came in support of Gidge's tour of the EU in 2022 and since then the duo has played many more sold-out shows to their warm fanbase across London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and beyond. Tundra EP opens with the gorgeous "Gausta." Heartbroken chords are draped over slow, dejected rhythms, while vocal fragments and distant nature sounds add a signature organic touch to this most rueful of tracks. There is a desolate feel to the twanging acoustic strings of "Grit" before more moody chords and lonely guitar notes hang dramatically in the air throughout this beatless interlude. "The Fells" brings with it a sense of optimism as the drums pickup and then fall away to reveal more sensitive strings drenched in reverb. When the drums return with aching vocal samples, there is a brilliantly eerie atmosphere. "Bleak" is a sparse fusion of indie and electronica -- fragments of rhythm and piano, sweeping chords and nagging synth pulses all make for a forlorn vibe, and "Whiteout" closes with five minutes of crepuscular synths that paint the picture of a barren and misty landscape untouched by human intervention. This EP once again proves that Gidge consistently discovers true beauty in their bittersweet musical landscape, drawn from a palette of organic sounds that convey a cautious yet beautiful sense of hope.

Atomnation marks its 100th release with Peter, Barbara, Beth & Friends, the stunning debut album from Blomfelt & Narby. The immersive nine-track record is a widescreen listen that fuses acoustic and electronic sounds with loose field recordings and tightly programmed drums. Finnish-born Henrik Blomfelt grew up in Gaspar Narby's homeland of Switzerland, but the pair met on the dancefloor of a pool club in Peckham while studying in London. Gaspar's indie pop solo project was rewarded with a broad sweep of tastemaker tips from new music and electronica media alike, while Henrik had co-founded Resolution, an audio-visual collective and event series. The two eventually moved in together, but it's only a couple of years later, when Gaspar visited Henrik's homeland of Finland, that they began making music together. They wrote half of the tracks that appear on the LP there, using an old piano, a cassette recorder found on location, and their laptops. The second half was finished back in London.

After releasing on Atomnation's Unfold Vol. 2 in 2021, Berlin-based Italian NOCUI returns with more rich and uplifting grooves on his new 12" Entrain. Leonardo Di Fiore (NOCUI's real name) is a Rome-born composer and a classically trained pianist who brings a performative approach to how he makes music. An early love of jazz also permeates his work and he now considers himself a "studio and sound design obsessive." That shows in the meticulously crafted, always fresh music he makes on his go-to drum machine, the Jomox Alpha Base. NOCUI is also adept at speaking through other key bits of gear such as the Roland SH101, Acidlab 303, DSI Prophet 6, and Haken Continuum Fingerboard -- machines that lend his music its signature sound and have taken him to labels like Traum and Wildfire.

Awe Kid explores ideas of trans-humanism, evolution and digital immortality on Body Logic, a fantastically lush new album for Atomnation. The immersive ten track record plays with organic, breathing textures punctuated by moments of digital unreal-ness to result in an album permeated with a dream-like quality. This contrast is mirrored by the artwork from Portugal's acclaimed The Royal Studio. Awe Kid is an alias of Sine Language Records co-founder Rick Parsons. It is the product of years spent exploring a multitude of different music. From early days in post-hardcore groups and on to a love of '90s Warp, electronic jazz, and more experimental niches, the multi-instrumentalist has now settled on his own unique fusion of breaks, ambient and left-field dance music. This deft studio wizard mixes up melodic nostalgia with forward-thinking sound design using whatever he can get his hands on, from analog and modular hardware, to samplers, field recordings to digital techniques. Says Parsons, "I love working with digital processes because you get these unexpected moments where you dial something in, that somehow takes on a tangible, organic form in the real world. Searching for these sweet spots was the motivation for the album, contrasting natural textures against synthetic elements, and finding ways to create something that feels like it exists outside of the computer." While the album pays homage to dance music traditions, such as the broken beat of title track "Body Logic", and full-throttle breaks of "Zenith", these are assimilated and repurposed to create something that defies genre categorization. The listener's journey is perfectly paced, with broody but uplifting cuts of electronica giving way to shimmering, celestial melodies, and dusty breakbeats emerging from dense layers of atmosphere, only for the mood to be reset with soothing, suspenseful synths and haunting vocal samples. Elsewhere, devastatingly emotional ambient is followed by punchy grooves and propulsive melodies to make for a real ride.

Atomnation up three remixes from Sam Goku's cultured East Dimensional Riddims (ATMV 087LP) album. The original full-length landed in spring of 2021, and now contemporary innovators Lauer, Paula Tape, and Ineffekt all offer their own unique versions. Goku sees this remix EP as a way of showcasing the sort of tunes he plays in his mixes, most recently for the Resident Advisor podcast series as well as for Ransom Note and Live At Robert Johnson. The Chinese-born but long Munich-based artist is an assured DJ who unites his different heritages when he plays. He's someone who taps into the similar emotions and motivations of east and west and does so with a nuanced, storytelling brand of house and techno that is warm and uplifting.

A year after his debut on Atomnation in 2020, Milio unveils his exceptional first album Nachtzon. The 12-track album showcases the Dutchman's flair for escapist melodic sounds. Emiel van den Dungen started this solo alias in 2020 after previous success as part of the Tunnelvisions duo. But he has ways been a skilled pianist from a musical family, which explains why his well-crafted, emotive melodies always make such an indelible mark. He has a love of beautiful voicings, coloring, melody and harmonies. Personal relationships and close friendships also instill his music with a sense of fun and honest connection and he is someone who spends hours honing his craft, practicing theory and growing ever more conformable with his array of both vintage and modern synths, pianos, guitars and drums. All of this translates to this debut album, which is an expansive affair stuffed with gorgeous grooves and real musicality. Nachtzon is a widescreen record that proudly wears its heart on its sleeve. Features Sjengsen and Ilona Weiss.

Multidisciplinary producer, designer, and 3D artist Raynor de Groot serves up Future Static, his debut full-length on Atomnation as Coloray. More than simply a collection of music, the record will be presented in an all-new virtual space where each track is a portal to a different world. Dutchman de Groot has proven himself as an accomplished conceptual artist who draws together many different creative fields. He has released everything from lush synth-pop to deep techno, and has real songwriting ability. 2019's "Can't Stop" in collaboration with Eagles & Butterflies proved that as it crossed over multiple scenes and became one of 2019's standout tracks thanks to support from heavy hitters as diverse as Hunee and Four Tet. Âme & Dixon have also regularly supported Coloray's music and asked him to release "Gazing Eyes" on their Innervisions label. Two years after his Real Life Cinema EP on Atomnation, Future Static finds de Groot opening a new chapter that explores a more conceptual sound. The album "translates the concept of man and computer creating a new reality where logic and emotion seems to be at odds with one another." Its 12 tracks have club-ready grooves, but also exquisite synth designs that are edgy and up-tempo. They will be translated to a live show and interactive music experience in VR, on your phone and desktop. In the show, online visitors will be able to get lost inside the mind of an AI and watch and interact with a Coloray performance. Presented with an artfully designed gatefold sleeve, Future Static is a groundbreaking project from Coloray that pushes creative boundaries while offering an immersive listening experience.

Sau Poler makes his return to Atomnation with Nocturno, a debut album that finds him pushing himself beyond his usual confines. The nine immersive, meticulously crafted tracks arrive in Spring 2021 and come with original artwork by New York artist Jane Dickson. Sau Poler is part of a so-called golden generation of Spanish producers alongside the likes of Pional, John Talabot, and Bawrut. He has put out three EPs on this label before landing on others such as Mule Musiq, Modern Obscure Music, and Fort Romeau's Cin Cin, where he honed his organic house, techno and ambient fusions. They're often bright but obscure, intimate and contemporary, with taut samples and shuffling beats that manage to be leftfield as well as nostalgic, and have had support from the likes of Kelly Lee Owens and Dixon. All that also plays out in his DJ sets which have taken him all over Europe to the likes of DGTL and Sonar. This new album was recorded between 2018 and 2020 in Poler's studio in Badalona. Two years of experimentation, expanding his methods of composition and moving out of his comfort zone eventually led to the concept of Nocturno. It's an album that draws on those special late-night feelings: introspective sounds, a middle ground between lightness and dark, euphoria and loneliness. It means the music is often hypnotic and mystic, with references to the conceptual movies, sonic obscurities and the video games of his youth. Two pieces of gear were also key to shape that sound: the Roland JD800 synth and the Roland Chorus Echo-301 tape delay, which help lend the whole thing a cohesive, immersive feel, with some first ever uses of an electric guitar and trumpet also adding further color and emotion.

Sam Goku returns to Atomnation with a stunning debut album titled East Dimensional Riddims. The 11 tracks record is a journey into his hugely characterful club sound complete with ambient and subtle use of instruments from his Chinese heritage. Sam Goku -- born Robin Wang -- was born in Düsseldorf, yet his upbringing was Chinese for the most part. It is the contrasting influences of those two cultural backgrounds that play out in his music and lend it a truly unique character. The album is a fine fusion of East and West, house and techno, power and emotion that really showcases the unique production talents of Sam Goku. Following up on the EPs Tanggu, Every Step, and Paradise Drum, this new album is the sound of an artist evolving, maturing and finding his own sound. It's a cohesive work that is as emotional as it is physical and thought provoking.

Gidge -- the Swedish duo consisting of Ludvig Stolterman and Jonatan Nilsson -- return with their new album, New Light. Marking their fifth release on Atomnation, this album can be seen as their second full-length album to date, following up 2014's mythical Autumn Bells (ATMV 023LP). Gidge makes electronic music that is shaped by recordings of Swedish nature. It's both comfortable on the dancefloor and in a more relaxing environment. Each and every Gidge track creates its own sense of atmosphere and emotion, whether that is nostalgia, rest, or epicness. Their work evolves naturally, often building to powerful peaks from a silent break that is tweaked with vocal samples, crackles of field recordings, and neo-classical influences. New Light features nine new tracks where Gidge worked on for about three years long. The album is signature for people that are familiar with the music from Gidge, yet, it can be seen as their most eclectic work to date. Ludvig and Jonatan refined the production technique on their new album by intensifying the sound palette with analog synthesis and crispy hi-hats. The track "Perimeter" might be the perfect example of this -- spanning over exactly ten minutes, the intensity of the synths in combination with the sharp hats throughout are absolutely fire. While often being adored by the inspiration that is drawn from the forest, nature, and the Norrlands of Sweden (and rightly so), the music of Gidge has actually been of an absolute international caliber and is listened to by people from all over the world. Gidge sold out club-tour shows in London, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, and Stockholm, and played their live-set to crowds on festivals in Mexico, Georgia, Canada, and Thailand. Pitchfork staffers chose Gidge amongst their favorite artists to listen to on snowy days and XLR8R readers voted Gidge to the #1 spot of "best new electronic act" in 2015. The list goes on... Rooted in the city of Umea, Sweden, Jonatan Nilsson and Ludvig Stolterman became friends through a shared love of electronic music. Includes printed inners.

Pascal Terstappen, aka Applescal, has released his new artist album, Diamond Skies on Atomnation. The nine-tracker is a collection of expertly-produced, instrumental melodic house with lush, ambient soundscapes and a nod to the analog sounds of the '90s. The album has received heavy support from key names in underground electronic music community and is Applescal's sixth studio album to date. Terstappen has been running Atomnation full-time since his early twenties and has shaped it into one of The Netherlands' leading independent labels and a home for an eclectic mix of electronic music including signed artists such as Gidge, Polynation, Tunnelvisions, and Sam Goku. Diamond Skies exemplifies the vibrant sound of Atomnation, a lush, colorful album which journeys through melody, ambience, and emotion while offering an occasional surprise to the senses. The album was written and produced through 2019 and completed in the early days of March 2020 when dark skies were looming. Diamond Skies represents a creative optimism and brings a sense of something to look forward to. Applescal has created a musical dreamworld for a listener to step into as an antidote to troubled times. Diamond Skies is an album which feels uplifting and effortless, a confluence of melodic house, occasional breakbeat, and ambient energy; the sound of a producer at the height of his powers.

Mordisco is a Spanish duo hailing from the southern part of Spain (Granada). Their tracks will make many dance floors move with raw, resonating synths and beats. The scat vocal samples in "Odissi" and "Ventura" are right on the money and give the music that unexpected twist. The EP is produced with excellent technique and many synth layers/percussion. This is essential material for people that play between 116 and 121 beats per minute.

Coloray's Real Life Cinema infuses powerful, unpolished sound aesthetics with relentless energy. After cutting his teeth on both the Dutch and international DJ circuit, and nurturing his production skills as member of the Tunnelvisions duo, Raynor de Groot his solo project Coloray translates an inwards desire to create and explore off the beaten path, and does so with a compelling '80s attitude. This strong backbone in musical undertaking, together with his background in songwriting and vocal work, transmits a unique sound that drifts somewhere between the hazy lines of contemporary electronics and early EBM.

"A work of searching, and in many moments, finding" Maggie Thornton as Sky Civilian is set to release her second EP via Atomnation: At the Seams. It's a stepping stone, from the lyrical, gentle, genre-agnostic electronica of Open Door (ATMV 065LP), to Maggie's own rounded and angelic take on acid-house. Maggie's cinematic, synth-heavy style emerged after a decade of orchestral French horn playing and classical studies. She combines this brass-inspired, synth-forward approach with her weightless, almost-whispered vocals, and dancefloor ready beats. The melding of influences present in her work make Maggie a fresh and promising new artist in the electronic music scene, an artist we hope to hear more from for many years to come.

Tunnelvisions (Raynor de Groot and Emiel van den Dungen) originated from a shared vision of contemporary club music. They believe that the club scene -- that is often focusing on a colder, abstract high-tempo sound -- needs to go back to a more organic approach. It's one of the goals of their newly created Tunnelvisions project: "We aim to bring back the fun to the dancefloor again". This vision brought the two musicians together -- through hypnotic, exotic and grooving productions they tend to offer something new. In the studio, Tunnelvisions combines elements from South American, Caribbean, and African sounds. With a background in house, techno, and pop, they've created a nine-track double-LP that takes you to different places in the world. Each track title is based on a river or desert. "Guava", for example, is a Jamaican river: "This song is a sort of naive interpretation of reggae, pop and club music". Tunnelvisions already performed at the legendary Melt Festival, Georgie's Wundergarten, and various festivals in the southern parts of The Netherlands, the place where Emiel and Raynor are currently based. Double-LP comes in gatefold sleeve.
