"Blank Mind celebrates its tenth release with the first full EP from SMX, a collaboration between Sam Purcell and Max O'Brien. From the glacial ambience of Hinterland, to the nocturnal convulsions of Uakari, these improvised tracks were recorded in East London from 2015-18. 'The live sessions allowed us to concentrate on simple forms and subtle developments. This project was started with no preconceived ideas about the end product, but we gravitated towards a sound that works both in a club or home environment. The EP serves as an honest and organic journal of sorts documenting the last few years.'"

"Hot on the heels of the label's gqom scorcher, this compelling cabinet of oddities bundles together four different artists, both familiars and newcomers. Blank Mind founder Sam Purcell kicks off, with some orchestral music flanged to giddy abstraction, heralding the return of Alan Johnson, to test its weighty dynamism in freer, surreal mutations. On the flip, a two-drum-kit jam blazes with propulsive yet disintegrating energy. And, to close, the recording debut of Variete, put down on a Scandinavian Christmas Eve morning: a gently purposeful, reflective ascent."

"AudioBoyz are Fatonic, Motion, MudPunk & Njeh - hailing from Riverdene, in the Newlands West suburb of Durban. This EP surveys a range of their material to date. Their tracks are earnest and powerful; equal parts emotional and brutal; cinematic and functional. Bells and monkeys bend around tuned percussion and future-shock electronics. A spirit and charm all their own radiates through their tracks, marking them out as one of the most exciting artists of the Gqom movement. Limber, finely-taut and combustible - this music is fully deserving of your time and attention."

Hailing from the Low End, Chicago, DJ Clent is one of the juke scene's pioneers, debuting with the 100% Ghetto release on Dance Mania in 1998. "3rd World" was a key recording in the construction of the sound that kids on the South and West Sides of the city dance to today. Over a decade after its creation, "3rd World" still sounds fresh, alien, and downright evil. "Hit It from the Back" is just as effective. The dystopia is removed, leaving a stripped-down floor-mover.
