"This year, C/O Pop 2008 is celebrating its fifth jubilee! And this is the reason the in-house label C/O pop is going to release the traditional C/O pop compilation with the finest selection of artists attending the festival. And once more it proves that you do not need the usual headliners in order to successfully rock a really good festival. What you need is a knack for the booking, considerable style and taste, a bit of an uncompromising attitude and a twist of radicalness -- the proved and tested recipe for the C/O pop festival, the yearly urban event for pop culture from and around Cologne. This year's C/O pop festival is going to take full circle again: from DJ Koze's reminiscence to Gunther Gabriel to the hottest international acts such as Why?, Crystal Castles and Steed Lord; from local top acts such as Supermayer (Kompakt's Superpitcher and Michael Mayer), Schlammpeitziger (Sonig) and Markus Worgull (Groove Attack Recordstore/Innervisions) to one of the classics among the German pop and electronica icons: Daf. And in between, fantastic newcomers such as Coma (Cologne), 1.000 Robota (Hamburg) and Dillon (Berlin) who are going to take (and seduce) the audience with Beck and Abwärts deep down inside the cave of quotes. And when everybody's darling José González, singer/songwriter from Sweden, sounds in the remix version made by Norwegian producer Todd Terje, then, at the latest, you will understand what the festival C/O pop is about: to present the best of any music styles and worlds and to take (and kidnap) the audience on new paths in music. We would say: Don't miss C/O Pop 2008!"

"Since 2004, C/O Pop (Cologne on Pop), the urban festival for electronic music, indie, pop and club culture takes place once a year in Cologne. Closely affiliated with the world's famous 'Sound of Cologne,' the festival program has a strong focus on club music and all its manifold variations and reflects contemporary trends in the indie, pop and electro scene. Music and content-wise, the traditional C/O Pop Festival Compilation 2007 manifests again the festival's essentials and features exclusive edits and tracks which were so far only available on vinyl. The excellent and representative selection of tracks and songs offers a unique spectrum of current pop, indie and club tunes. The C/O Pop Compilation 2007 features well-known labels such as Ed Banger, Shitkatapult, Pias, Warp, Tomlab, Morr Music, Sonig, Stattmusik, Monika Enterprises, Kompakt, Traum, Mobilee, Dial, Sin & Soul, Ekler'o'Shock and artists such as Uffie, Apparat (feat. Raz Ohara), Agoria, Battles, Urlaub In Polen, Seabear, Vert, Kalabrese, Gudrun Gut, The Field, Dominik Eulberg, Jennifer Cardini & Shonky, Carsten Jost, No Theory, Data."

Three track EP featuring Tobias Thomas & J. Burger & The Modernist. "Techno and house in this characteristic Cologne style has made our city and our Studio 672 club house famous. And as the sound of Cologne is electronic music, no one else is better for this job than composer Joerg Burger, aka The Modernist, born in Cologne, soccer fan and one of the most renowned representatives in town when it comes to electronica, pop and techno. In 2005, back in Berlin again, his support was not enough, but this year, thanks to this new, co-produced track, everything will be (even) better. The Spex 72 EP, produced by Ralph Christoph (c/o pop, studio 672), Marc Knauer (c/o pop, Italic), John Harten (the great defender-remix), Daniel Ansorge (the great editor) and other active Spex 72 players, is a reminiscence of Cologne, its music and of course the friendship. In zeitgeisty terms: the 'team spirit'."

"More than 140 bands, live acts and DJs graced the stages and dancefloors of the second, five-day c/o pop festival 2005. This festival compilation, now appearing for the first time, features 23 of them, in a representative cross section of Germany's first urban festival for electronic pop culture. Hot local newcomers such as Audio Werner, André Kraml and Prosumer feature alongside the current stars of the German electronic scene, including Mathias Schaffhäuser, Wighnomy Brothers, Ricardo Villalobos and Michael Mayer. The best of 2005 from Spain, Scotland, England and France is also represented, as are examples of this year's most exciting remixes. The compilation features tracks only previously available to the buyers of 12 inch vinyl, as well as two very special exclusives. 150 minutes of music from Cologne's electronic summer and the first brick in the wall for the brand new c/o pop label, which will be releasing the latest audio-visual trends in electronic pop music on a regular basis in the future."
