"Another great remix of the Jupiter Black -- We Like Moroder release. Two remixes by Divider and Starcluster (not big names... but two of the coolest remixes!!). The A-side is the slamming 'Divider' remix which really rocks with its straight forward kicking beats and massive bassline (tip for those who loved the great Tiefschwarz remix for Unit4 -- BodyDub4!). The flip gives us a great Starcluster remix which stays more true to the original Italo disco style of Giorgio Moroder. Smooth 808 beats and phat analog basslines and spaced-out synth lines. Very cool! Already gets support from I-f, Lindstrøm, Ame, Miss Kittin and many others."

"The amazing 'Silver Clouds' finally officially released. After the 300 copies promo pressing it now comes with a bonus remix by Dexter. Actually the original is already good enough... but since remixing is the new black we thought we drop in a special one too. Photocall is the L.A. based team of Eli Epstein and Terynn Westbrook. Their 'Silver Clouds' is already very sought after. The original version is an ice cold electro track with Egyptian Lover style beats and a funking minimal bassline that really makes you move your ass. The track really kicks of with an additional synth line, the vocals of Terynn and a bleepy melody which has somehow the same, it's all good vibe, as 'Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass'. And as usual Dexter did great job by minimalizing the track and turning the original into a electro-funk kind of track with crazy edits that works like crazy on the floor."

"Recloned gives you some of the hottest remixes on Clone records. This turned out to be a collection of very dancefloor friendly tracks. It shows the new interpretations of other talented producers on the original versions. These remixes have been made by friends, likeminded artists or by artists we respect a lot. Knowing this gives these remix projects more value for the original artists and makes it more fun for the label to release it. One of the biggest releases of 2005 was definitely the great Unit 4 'Bodydub' track... remixed by their hometown friends Tiefschwarz (both versions are now already considered classics). The soulful Delgui track 'Highlights' was remixed by one of our favorite house producers Charles Webster and turned out to be a superb rmx. Alden Tyrell's 'La Voix' did get the remix treatment by studio pal Elitetechnique and that one really surprised all of us. Probably the funniest story is the remix for Seymour Bits (together with De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig) -- 'Watsgeburt!?' The vocal version reached the number 1 position for at least 10 weeks in a row and was the biggest summer hit in Holland for 2005! Dexter made an awesome instrumental mix which rocked many underground clubs (who had no idea that they actually played a number 1 top 40 hit). There are little stories behind every song and every remix. Like one of the other classic Clone releases... Adult.'s 2001 'Hand To Phone' track that got the remix treatment by Carl Craig who was one of their good neighborhood friends (that remix was actually named 'Tres Demented Remix'). Another sublime remix is the hot Lindstrom & Prins Thomas 2004 rmx for Alden Tyrell's 'Disco Lunar Module'... which we think is one of the best remixes they ever did. Or what about the brand new unreleased remix by the unknown Divider for the new Jupiter Black project which is something unexpected from the highest quality... a nice tribute for the love they share with Jupiter Black (and many of hers) for Giorgio Moroder! And the previously unreleased pure italo disco from the Viewlexx artist S.Y.D. who made a superb remix for 'Little' (taken from the Clone Box Jams CD). Anyway... you get the picture... we like these remixes a lot for the final results but also for the personal stories behind it. And even without knowing the stories, this is a CD which will be a pleasure playing over and over again!" Artists: Pauli vs Tyrell, Putsch '79, Delgui, Alden Tyrell, Applegarden, Jupiter Black, Unit 4, Adult., Marcus Mixx, Seymour Bits.

A full length mix album by label founder DJ Serge. After all these years of DJing and making compilations for his Clone and DUB record labels, Serge finally created his first mix album! For those who know the12"s and albums on Clone records (like We Still Kill the Old Way, Box Jams, The Men You'll Never See) already experienced a piece of the musical taste of Serge. For those who have been able to catch one of his DJ sets somewhere on this globe already know that his taste is going further then just today or tomorrow's latest hype. Vintage Future showcases perfectly the fine taste of fresh and exciting dance music. Somehow even records that are 20 years old sound like they have been recorded last week. On this album, Serge perfectly manages to blend vintage tracks with the latest tunes (and even unreleased songs) of his own Clone label. In his mix, he plays previously-unreleased tracks from Photocall, Jupiter Black, The Hasbeens and Black Devils Disco Club with 20 year old tracks by Egyptian Lover, Farley Jackmaster Funk and Claudio Simonetti. He mixes old Chicago house with Dutch electro-disco by Legowelt, nu-school disco from Lindström and techno-ish sounds from Marco Passarani and Dexter with acid tracks by Mike Dunn and '80s italo disco. We can easily say that this is a timeless mix compilation which still will be enjoyed in 10 year's time. This album proves that dance music is not only about scoring the latest records... it's all about good musical taste!"

"One of the hottest tracks from the Alden Tyrell album (Times Like These) is probably 'La Voix' with the vocals of the sweet Nancy Fortune. A massive, almost bombastic track with the intense vocals of Nancy singing about this holographic voice. 'La Voix' comes in two remixes. One by The Isolators (a new project by one of the Unit 4 guys for his more disco-oriented tracks) and by the unknown Elitechnique. Two new project names doing some of the best possible remix jobs (you'll be surprised!!). The Isolators come with a pounding clean Moroder kind of track which goes on and on in thru disco style! Elitechnique delivers a smooth, more effective club version (both as instrumental and vocal versions). Massive record for everyone into Lindstrøm, Giorgio Moroder, Bangkok Impact and maybe even Daftpunk, Madonna or Felix the Housecat."

"Another crazy Clone X! Applegarden is a strange duo from Rotterdam making a weird kind of electronic funk. We had these tracks lying around in the office for at least 2 years...and we couldn't get them out of our system...so something must be right!. 'Twentyfive 6 four' and 'Armaggedon' are the two original cuts on this release...and they are just a lot of fun. The Finnish wonderboys of Putsch 79 made the official club version of 'Twentyfive 6 four.' They turned the loose original version in a tight and sharp club monster that works on every dancefloor. Probably their most uptempo dancefloor orientated remix they ever did (kind of Underworld goes disco). Already got played by several influential DJs!"

"In these days where so many people speak about the return of Italo disco we think it's time to present one of the real masters of this sound. Since 1998, Alden Tyrell has been producing Italo disco tracks -- and it was in 1999 that 'Love Explosion' did find its ways into clubs. This track (and the early releases of Legowelt and I-f 's Cocadisco project) was for many people the first contact with this special sound of (Italo) disco. Alden Tyrell got very much inspired by old school disco producers like Bobby Orlando, Divine, Claudio Simonetti, The Creatures (aka Mario Flores) and many others who were producing this high energy version of Disco. On Times Like These you'll find a selection of some new unreleased tracks and some of the best tracks Alden Tyrell did in the beginning of this period from 1999 to 2006. This is the sound of dark clubs with sweat dripping off the walls... laser beams, people screaming of joy and endless hours of dancing. The sound of Italian summer clubs in Rimini. The sound of clubs and radio stations in Chicago and Detroit where DJs mixed up all sorts of disco and funk (and who inspired young kids with these robotic voices, hypnotic basslines to buy synthesizers and drum computers and make music themselves...!!) This was the sound of the future in the '80s and this is the sound of now in 2006! This might be the return for some people to back in the days with the first electronic club music, the pre-house and techno era. But for many Alden Tyrell is, together with people like Legowelt, Lindstrom & Prins Thomas, Putsch '79, Metro Area, I-f and a couple of others, some of the main inspirations of the nu-school disco."

"Box Jams is selected by Clone's label boss Serge Verschuur (aka DJ Serge), and he made a great selection of tracks and special unreleased edited versions he uses in his DJ sets. Some of his favorite tracks which always create a stir on the dancefloor when he plays them. Six tracks so good they give the trainspotters anxiety attacks. The full length CD version of Box Jams contains different edits than the vinyl and also an extra track by Dexter which is not in the vinyl. Fourteen tracks of amazing Disco and Chicago influenced jams. Lindstrom throws in an amazing version of his 'There is a Drink in my Bedroom' remixed by Prins Thomas (this is an exclusive track for this compilation). Then there is Orgue Electronique with his 'Brooklyn, Texas, Heaven' which is a stunning Chicago track in the style of Joe Lewis. Serge found a raw gem by Harold Faltermeyer (the Axel F guy) called 'So High.' A super rare track he did with Peter Moesser in '78 and which comes as an edited version of Alden Tyrell (the original never got officially released on LP or 12"). New York's Shirley Lites disco master piece "Heath You Up (Melt You Down)"comes in a edited version by Gerd (of 4lux records). Then there is an original first version of Unit4's 'Body dub (No Skin Mix)' which never got released, and a stunning electronic track by the unknown Music Cargo called "Black Horse" (reminiscent of some early Carl Craig tracks on his Landcruising album). And there is much more... stunning tracks which already get big support from DJs like I-f, Tiga, Trevor Jackson, Miss Kittin, Ellen Allien and many others.
A unique compilation album with timeless dance tracks!"

2007 repress. "Even though the original version is not a peak time tool it is a track every serious DJ had in their playlists recently (Carl Craig, Laurent Garnier, Tiefswcharz, I-f, Trevor Jackson, Timo Maas etc.) Now they asked some of their friends to make their version of this epic track...and here are the results. On the AA side we have a very hot track by Tiefschwarz. You know the score.. these guys just can't do any wrong. They have done an excellent job on the 'Body Dub'. They turned the track into a nice building a peak time version which can be played by everyone at every moment of a club night. Nice tight beats with a massive bassline are doing the job. On the flip we have the very typical off-key acid mix of Freak-electrique (from Viewlexx fame), and a smooth bouncing disco-ish mix by Finnish hero Bangkok Impact which is the must for all fans of Balihu, Environ and of course Bangkok Impact and Putsch 79."

"If you've the slightest interest in today's electronic music, most of the acts on this first Clone label compilation require no introduction. If you've dabbled in disco, toyed with techno, or enjoyed any electro over the last few years, then you'll appreciate the significance on the global stage of this enterprising independent company from Rotterdam. In its restless quest for quality, Clone has attracted material from some of the finest artists from Detroit, such as Adult., D.I.E., Drexciya and Perspects, and championed home-grown heroes like Alden Tyrell, I-F and Dexter. A modest operation, Clone has achieved all this on its own terms, without compromise and hype, by allowing the music to speak for itself. The fact that this album brings together magical tracks by masked marvels The Other People Place, Glass Domain, Cosmic Force and Duplex for the first time is, for those who know, reason enough to break out the champagne. For the uninitiated, The Men You'll Never See is the ideal introduction to a world where man and machine coexist in synthesized harmony, where they talk to one another and instinctively understand each other's needs. This is sci-fi soul, romantic modernism, a 70-minute crusade against mediocrity. It's funny and funky, advanced and accessible, but it's melancholy too, nostalgic for an impossible future. This is the stuff that perks up dancefloors, the DJ's secret friend, and will remain in your iPod forever. To some this impeccable collection of seductive electro, digital funk and energetic disco may sound retro, to others it might seem boldly futuristic, a glorious rush into the unknown. In truth, The Men You'll Never See sits happily between the two, shrugging off any attempts at categorisation." Artists: Adult., DPX, Dexter, Alden Tyrell, D.I.E., Perspects, Cosmic Force, I-f, Drexciya, Alden Tyrell, Glass domain, Duplex, The Other people Place.

"And here it is.. The full length debut album by the mysterious Putsch '79... An album laden with joyous steaming grooves made for the hips as well as the mind, and all the product of two Finnish guys (living in the extreme north of Finland) toiling thru 24 hours without daylight making musical sunshine to entertain themselves. Sami Liuski and Pauli Jylhänkangas are two young guys finding their muse in the vintage sounds of decades past. Having both started out their musical career on the Amiga the pair got more serious about their music after Sami released his first tracks on Bunker and shortly after that on Clone. Later, Sami's debut as Bangkok Impact Traveller was universally acclaimed as a modern disco classic and made him a talent to watch and several other magazines. Pauli just released his first solo project on Klakson records (owned by Dexter). But when the guys team up they seem to have a little extra magic in their synths... Also together they seem more open to other sounds and like all good producers they don't like to stick to one style, but try to create interesting and fresh music they enjoy themselves... Surprising enough (When you take into account Finland has one of the highest rates of suicide) its not all doom and darkness in Finland, because Putsch '79s debut is an album that sparkles, bringing a smile to your faces and a wiggle to your butt. Putsch '79 rolls up Motor City techno and electro with New York disco and Ch-Town House into a unique hybrid."

"The very first CD release on Clone records. And what a CD! An amazing collection of thrilling and exciting electro, disco, technoish tracks which doesn't have any competition in their quality. 12 strong tracks by various artists (Alden Tyrell, Dexter, Legowelt, Bangkok impact, Mocky, Perspects, Duplex, Fabrice Lig, to Cosmic Force and others.) All artists which have been selected to contribute to this album (some well-known..some anonymous, some relatively unknown) gave their best shot and managed to deliver one of their finest pieces of work. The selection is very versatile and can't be pigeon holed to one genre of one movement... but all track have one thing in common...and that's the fact they are all very good and they are so strong that each tracks stands out on its own. The whole compilation shows what good music needs... it has emotion, it has atmosphere, it is effective! Music should be honest and all these tracks are.... This release will have a personal relationship with their listener. The record will be part of the owners life...the owners everyday life, life without a happy ending."
