Chymera is a nice Irish fellow originally from Cork. Releasing on classy labels like Delsin, NRK and Ovum, he creates various timeless shapes of techno, drawing on many different influences, both acoustic and electronic. With "Caprica Burning," he pays homage to the TV series Battlestar Galactica with a deep, melodic cut with a touch of Detroit soul. Dave Ellesmere gives "Caprica Burning" a sensitive remix that hits you right in the heart.

Already featured on the Grand Cru 2008 label compilation, here is Andrès Garcìa on sub-imprint Connaisseur Supérieur. Andrès, a Geneva-based musician with Spanish roots, presents "No More Tears," a genuine summer track with an alluring groove, mysterious vocals and excellent percussion, tailor-made for moody techno sets. Quarion delivers an outstanding interpretation, giving you a permanent uplifting feeling until a wonderful Detroit string theme makes it absolutely epic.

Sebastian Roya is back on Supérieur again, Connaisseur's sub-imprint, where he had his first release and his first hit. With "Andante," he shows his talent for massively drivin' voodoo grooves and weird soundscapes. He layers and builds until the track is a big rolling bulldozer no one can stop. Jens Zimmermann, a warhorse of electronic music for almost 20 years, is responsible for the outstanding remix. Sounds bustling about and echo chambers so 3D, you'd like to move into them.

Ripperton presents "Zugunruhe," a lively Detroitish tech-house tune, with a bass line reminiscent of Goofy riding a prairie horse, hypnotic cowbell action and a childhood-memory theme. Not a peak-time tune, more like the kind of track you play at the beginning of the night to bring a smile to every dancer's face. Daniel Stefanik delivers an outstanding interpretation -- an after-party tune with a smacking groove, which slowly builds up to a heart-rending melody.

Wareika is the collaboration of Henrik Raabe, Jakob Seidensticker, Florian Schirmacher and Michael Hank. This record features a unique blend of dub, percussion and Afro beat music. "Men Village" is almost 15 minutes of Afro drums and percussion, accompanied by warm analog-synth, raster scanning and highlights, served on a strong simple beat that carries one's body on and on. Reboot reduces the original to its more rhythm-based elements with a typical trippin' percussion twist.

"Pele is our new maestro of sticky tunes. Once you have heard one of his tracks, the melody won't get out of your head. Pele lives in the countryside surrounding the picturesque Bavarian town of Rosenheim, the city where the famous electronica act Funkstörung also comes from. Apart from his producer activities -- he has already released on the label Dipolder and will contribute a track for our upcoming compilation Grand Cru 2007 -- he is an active DJ in the Bavarian and Austrian area, focused on expanding his sphere of action. And of course we know he will quickly achieve his goal. 'Childhood's End' is a massively bouncing Detroit-influenced tune with a dominating chord theme you will not forget. Kollektiv Turmstrasse's remix is just like what we are used to by these two friendly northerners: melodic, emotional and massively driving."

"Another rookie on Supérieur. Sebastian Cabrera aka Sebastian Roya is a 23-year-old fellow from the back country of Gran Canaria. Patrick Chardronnet discovered this unpolished diamond during an after party at a small farm of Gran Canarias outback, playing a long DJ set, only with his own tracks. He started his DJ career at the age of 17. Today, he is one of the most successful DJs on the Canary Islands, having played all important venues. His productions show a unique sense of rhythmic power and always add a twisted edge of voodoo tech to it."

"Dani Casarano, better known under his DJ name Tony Mass, is a famous DJ in his country of choice: Chile. Born in Italy, grown up in the French part of Switzerland, he is a widely traveled cosmopolite. 'El Zapo Hablo' is a wonderful dreamy and floating tune. The emotionality in this track is more focused on a winter-like atmosphere. When the deep bass enters the track in the break, it feels like the pleasant anticipation when you are in the illuminated city during the weeks before Christmas with a warming mulled wine in your hands. Motorcitysoul's remix is our most classic track so far. Matthias Vogt and Christian Rindermann aka C-Rock created an amazing timeless deep house hymn, which in some moments reminds of old Orbital tracks."
