Copacetic present a reissue of Prince Buster's I Feel The Spirit, originally released in 1963. Cecil Bustamente Campbell, better known around the world as Prince Buster, was one of the most important figures in the development of ska -- and, ultimately, reggae -- music. Not just an innovator, he's also one of the more distinct and distinguished voices in the history of Jamaican popular music. I Feel The Spirit is his very first long player -- and was a hit both at home in Kingston, and in the West Indian clubs of London, where it would help to inspire the late '70s/early '80s two-tone movement. This album is one of the most important documents of early Jamaican ska, and features backing from ska luminaries as Drumbago, Lester Sterling, and Rico Rodriguez.

Copacetic present a reissue of At Home With Screamin' Jay Hawkins, originally released in 1958. By far one of the most outrageous performers of the early years of rock, prone to emerging from coffins on stage, with a flaming skull named Henry as his constant companion, Screamin' Jay was an insanely theatrical figure long before it was even remotely acceptable. His 1958 debut, At Home, featuring his legendary "I Put A Spell On You," along with surreal hits like "Hong Kong," "Take Me Back To The Boot And Saddle," or his wild-ass reinventions of old standards like "I Love Paris" and "Deep Purple" is a carefully arranged yet gritty, Ray Charles-gone-crazy styled, full band rhythm, and blues masterpiece, filled with enough howls and groans to send chills down your spine. Includes 13 bonus tracks, including several alternate takes.

Very early 1962 recordings featuring a very young Janis Joplin. Recorded in part at the Folk Theatre in San Jose, 1962 where Janis is joined by Steve Talbot on stage, and the remainder at the Coffee Gallery in San Francisco, 1962. This collection of raw blues tunes is essential for any fan of the iconic performer.
