Taking its title from a Minoan legend that deals with rage, greed and destruction, the latest release from Abyss X expands and reconstructs conceptions of aural space and time. Pleasures Of The Bull finds the multi-disciplinary artist and producer flirting with the sounds of hard jazz while mystifying the parameters of experimental music. Intoxicating, ambient textures mesh with Abyss X's own expressive vocals, as well as the sounds of the traditional Cretan lyra, played by Maria Skoula. Prog rock guitar lines twist stolidly beneath warped vocal samples, and the timbre of the bowed lyra permeates the atmosphere.

Fountain Of Meaning is a new sonic fiction from sound artist J.G. Biberkopf following 2016's Ecologies II: Ecosystems Of Excess on Knives. Emerging out of a situation of overflow, the record burrows deeper into his practice of palpable audio theater with a study of object and relations across space-time specific sounds. The Fountain as a theme reflects a spouting and spilling of information, an erotic gushing of imagined aural history. Fountain Of Meaning offers a dynamic tension and release. A molecular tragedy, our abject recovery into a collaborative reimagining of a trauma long forgotten. Features Aisha Devi.

A blistering debut EP from Gil, Orchids & Wasps. Drawing inspiration equally from emerging post-human theories and the surreal collage culture of underground circles, Gil's deft compositions conjure a multitude of somatic convulsions that transcends not just genre but the club environment itself. Orchids & Wasps begins as a statement of intent, laying down the gauntlet to the dancefloor but concludes as a fine example of chaos and harmony fighting over the same territory. Gil invites interpretations of "Onset" by J.G. Biberkopf (Knives) and Imaabs (Naafi).

Danse Noire presents the first ever solo release by the promising Portuguese producer Random Gods with Genezon.avi EP. The record also sees the return of Italian New Waver, and label inaugurator, Vaghe Stelle, contributing an interpretation of "Milito". Random Gods is Lisbon-based producer Timóteo Azevedo. The propulsive force behind this project is an exercise of imagining a post-apocalyptic future without the internet, where information is being gathered, and regathered, through fragmented data. Random Gods doesn't play on eclecticism and exoticism - he summons dub, noise and industrial tropes to soundtrack the trance of a diluted, disconnected world.

2015 release. Split between his academic studies of physics and his work as a janitor in a housing project, Haf Haf finds solace in his nightly pursuits in the studio. He is confronted daily by the financial and social problems of his residents. Inevitably the studio reflects the woes surrounding him, compounded by his waning motivation for his physics thesis. "Sad Music for a Sad Life," he might say. Includes a remix by Gatekeeper.

2014 release. IVVVO (Crème Organization, Public Information, Opal Tapes) delivers exquisitely scraped-up sonic explorations and tape-warped techno/house mutations that unfold with intoxicatingly knotty arrangements, queasy atmospheres, and unhurried minor-key motifs. The techno stomp of "Fear" snakes its way through the labyrinthine arrangement and flange-twisted atmospheres, the unhinged "So Much" hobbles toward the finish line clutching broken-sounding Trax-era rhythms, and "Redux" centers on a dark melody and futuristic drum track. The tilting gauziness of the record's deep centerpiece, "Consumed," subtly injects ghostly pitched-up voices into a sea of swells that both soar and growl. "Repetition" features Infinity Frequencies.
