Echo & the Bunnymen are an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1978. The original line-up consisted of vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant, and bassist Les Pattinson. By 1980, Pete de Freitas joined as the band's drummer. Their 1980 debut album Crocodiles went into the top 20 of the UK Albums Chart. After releasing their second album Heaven Up Here in 1981, the band's cult status was followed by mainstream success in the UK in 1983 when they scored a UK Top 10 hit with "The Cutter," and the album which the song came from, Porcupine, hit number 2 in the UK. Ocean Rain (1984), continued the band's UK chart success with its lead single "The Killing Moon" entering into the Top 10.

The Cure had been gradually building their US fan base when they embarked on their third American tour to promote their 1984 studio release, The Top. This recording was made on that tour, and features the band during their most defining musical period. Coming off the success of hits like "Let's Go To Bed" and "Boys Don't Cry," Robert Smith and the band had finally come to the point where they could take The Cure's eccentric, characteristically dark sound and combine it with a more radio-friendly approach.

The Velvet Underground were undoubtedly one of the most important bands on the history of rock music. But their greatest line-up broke up in the late 1960s, and where not to reform for nearly 30 years. However, as early as 1982 the two prime movers teamed up with original chanteuse Nico, for this historic album which was recorded during a live show at the Bataclan club in Paris, on January 29, 1972, and was originally broadcast on French TV. The concert marked the first time since the breakup of The Velvet Underground that Lou Reed, John Cale and Nico were on stage together.

An iconic and celebrated artist whose cultural standing in America remains resolute and heavily influential. The Patti Smith Group headed out on their first US tour to promote the release of their debut album Horses, produced by John Cale and released in November 1975. They then released their Radio Ethiopia album a year later and toured to support its release in 1977. An amazing performance by a great artist. Pink color vinyl.

Although they released six albums in their lifetime, The Sound, who formed in early 1979 and broke up in late 1987, were undervalued in their own country, always attracting only a small audience. 200 miles away from their native South London and across the North Sea in the Netherlands, The Sound, however, had a fanatical following, regularly filling out 2000 capacity venues and at one point in the early '80s outselling both U2 and Echo and the Bunnymen there. This performance was recorded at the Amsterdam Paradiso on the 8th March 1981 on the last night of the band's four-date first Dutch tour.

Massive as Joy Division were becoming, they still played Shit-Holes like this former, partially demolished, cinema in Derby. The old seats were still in place, except for a few that were torn off of their perches to allow dancing, if required. Again, another cavernous sounding audience recording, and again they are treated to a joint band version of "Girls Don't Count" for the rarity value. Due to cancellations, probably due to Ian's failing health, this would turn out to be the penultimate Joy Division performance, before the loss of Ian Curtis.

Siouxsie And The Banshees, live at De Nieuwe Kade, Tiel, The Netherlands 1981. Great concert from the JuJu era (1981). The European tour began on June 14th, 1981 in Brussels, and ran to the end of the summer before the group flew to North America for dates throughout October and November. This Dutch concert features live versions of tracks that appear on JuJu, only missing "Into The Light" and "Monitor". A superb recording.
