"We are extremely happy to welcome another release from label chief and techno don, Michel de Hey and his partner in crime M.I.R.K.O. on EC. Michel is in superb form right now. Off the back of his excellent solo releases Curly Wurly/Wurst and Finally Man/ We're Fucking Hi on his own Hey! Records and The Kola Song on Wasted, we find him in a rich vein of form. M.I.R.K.O. is fresh from remixing the current EC Records release, Codec & Flexor's Black Diamonds. Together, the pair have already released the fantastic Simultaneously/Cornetto back in May 2008, which went on to feature in the DJ sets and charts of many of the worlds DJ elite. Today's release sees the pair drop their heaviest release to date. Three incredible slabs of techno madness that have already found the Hawtin, Dubfire, Carola and Loco Dice seal of approval. Lead track 'Close To The Beat' smacks us round the face from the off with its full, rounded, rubbery bassline. It's spooky, triptastic, and ever so simple melody builds an incredible atmosphere, and with the cinematic breakdown, it makes for a perfect 'Hitchcock on Acid' moment!"

"Black Diamonds by Codec & Flexor was originally released in 2002 on Forte, the label of the strongly deplored Christian Morgenstern. It was huge back then, and ever since it's been a stand-out track in the sets of Michel de Hey. That's why now he decided to re-release the original with a version from the hottest remixer on the planet, Gregor Tresher. Of course there's also Michel's very own re-rub."

"After recent successful releases on Music Man, A.r.t.less and Delsin, the veteran of Dutch techno is back with a release on EC Records. Label owner Michel De Hey is on the remix duties together with his longtime friend Secret Cinema."
