"The five tracks that became Abbondanza all materialized from summer to winter of 2020, a time of unprecedented productivity in the home studio. Some of them developed from first time fiddlings on new synthesizers, some from unaccompanied jams on percussion instruments. I hope these tracks capture my naive fascination and joyful jamming I had while creating them. My Florentine friends of the Intro-Spettiva collective introduced me to the concept of 'stalla' (stables) -- their codeword for a proper party. At a particularly memorable Tuscan stalla in 2019, I got to know Edizioni Mondo head Francesco de Bellis and his amazing music. A year later, we listened to the first demos of this record in his damp basement studio close to Vatican City and here it is in all its abundance!" --Niklas Wandt

Swedish duo Thunder Tillman come together again in healing harmony to produce a much-needed LP for troubled times. Thunder and his life coach Pony bring their spirits in sync for 40 minutes of improvised soundtracks for mental and physical wellbeing. Recorded on Stockholm's Wind Island, the pair have carefully selected specimens from their collection of vintage musical paraphernalia to channel these specific vibrations for maximum healing power. Side one is a gentle wake up call for the soul, with pipes and chimes that gently give way to mind-expanding synths and feedback echoes that sound like sun glistening off a mountain river. Those sounds lead into an electric piano and life affirming synth figure, before disintegrating into santoor strings and chants with a slight Indian flavor. It's a cosmic combination that invites relaxation and meditation, and the kind of deep breathing exercises that could turn back the clock on a host of bodily ailments. An electric piano comes back to the foreground with a bass and synth combination that drives forward with healing hands, before parting the frequencies for ear-tickling pads and voices. Rounding out the side is a chiming synth and santoor figure that brings the wandering spirit home and to rest. Side two starts up with "Cosmic Osmosis" -- a motorik drum machine beat and bass line that briefly brings to mind some of their more krautrock inspired modes across their three previous EPs, but soon collapses back into visceral synth twinkles and relaxing washes of analog tones. It's a dynamic that drives the whole record, sounds that excite the soul perhaps even the body on an atomic level, before bringing that energy down to a calming, relaxing home. There's a craftsmanship to their synthesized tones that goes beyond mere artistry, and the interplay between sounds and frequencies is especially inspired, to the point where the music practically sparkles out of the speakers. Side two closes out with harmonic chimes that could put you on a Himalayan Mountain side, and succeeds in raising the spirit, mind and body to higher plains of cosmic consciousness. The Aural Healing Program is accompanied by a 40-minute Visual Healing Program that will be unveiled in conjunction with the vinyl release. The first visual healing session featuring side B opener "Cosmic Osmosis", is already available for all to partake. Relax, let go, and let the frequencies guide you. Inlay insert included.

Mario Pierro, aka Raiders of the Lost ARP (ROTLA), returns to Edizioni Mondo. Trasmissioni is his debut LP under this moniker, using fictitious TV show themes as an excuse to create his musically most eclectic record so far. Departing slightly from the Balearic and prog rock influences of the previous Laguna EP (MONDO 002EP, 2015), in Trasmissioni, ROTLA covers many territories: opening with the science-celebrating arpeggios of "Progressi Della Scienza" (advances in science), to the funky, off-beat grooves of "Telemusic", then taking a step into a disco during "Nightlife", before programming his rocket towards eerie Nordic drum machines and Hammond organs in "Esterno Neve" and "Effetto Notte", and many planets more. A welcome edition to the ever-expanding Edition Mondo universe, a record you can't grow tired of. Eco-Friendly green artwork that shows how tiny we all are. Gatefold sleeve; 180 gram vinyl.
On Edizioni Mondo: The name Mondo has its roots in "Mondo Movies", an Italian movie genre born in the '60s. Mondo movies are characterized by documentary-like content that addresses several topics from around the world ("mondo"). The Mondo label has the goal to produce music that is descriptive of concepts, images and environments. Mondo is inspired by library music, a genre frequently used as theme or background music in radio, film and television in that very same period. Production music libraries typically offer a broad range of musical styles and genres describing everything ranging from deserts to war and sports. Library music composers and session performers had no constraint at all. They typically work anonymously, have rarely become known outside their professional circle, and they have produced a very creative catalog. The Mondo productions start with four releases dedicated to seascapes; scenarios range from sea fauna to poaching, from natural parks to sea dunes.

Edizioni Mondo has the goal to produce music that is descriptive of concepts, images and environments. Their ninth release comes courtesy of ROTLA. Also known as Mario Pierro and Raiders Of The Lost Arp, Waves is his third release for the label. Downtempo, trippy, playful and, Balearic, it's the soundtrack to the fading summer or the one starting somewhere else in this universe. Accompanied by remix works from label head L.U.C.A. and Balearic mastermind Mark Barrott with his Sketches Form An Island Healing Hands, it's the most Balearic record you will hear this side of the summer.

Repressed. Galaxies is the debut album from Odeon, the union of two couple of Roman brothers -- Luciano and Valerio, Giacomo and Michele -- who are not easily defined. Take the mellow melodies of Talk Talk and the celestial guitar riffs of Cocteau Twins bound together with some heavy Goblin-inspired basslines and you'll be close to picturing Odeon's signature sound. Drawing from '70s Italian B-movie soundtracks, psychedelic rock, and early '80s new wave, and combining analog synths, dreamy guitars, melancholy vocoder, and drum machine-driven percussion, Odeon put together a debut album that sounds fresh and classic at the same time. Ethereal and mesmerizing, Galaxies is the perfect soundtrack for a sonic journey through dying stars and forbidden planets. 180 gram vinyl; Gatefold sleeve.

Edizioni Mondo is inspired by library music, a genre frequently used as theme or background music in radio, film and television in that very same period. Rocket Launch by the trusted in-house band Odeon pushed all the typical and beloved Mondo buttons. Accompanied by version from Roman ambient hit-maker Panoram and label boss L.U.C.A., with one of his quirky dance mixes and the usual great artwork, this deserves a good place on every Balearic bookshelf.

2x12" version. L.U.C.A. is Francesco De Bellis aka Francisco. Years ago he started putting together some selections for a friend of his: Luca. The intention was to pick songs to be played during car rides, and like any other kind of ritual, this too would come with strict rules. You'd have to go through the whole selection of 100 tracks without skipping, because every single one was important: Be it the sounds, the arrangement or its creativity, each track was there for a very specific reason. It quickly became a monthly event which for several years evolved in a deep musical research without genre boundaries: disco and psychedelic, soundtracks, library music, exotica, electronic and dance music, Italo, new-wave, pop or prog. Tracks of each and any historical period and provenance had been featured in these special compilations. But it wasn't always that easy to come up with the right piece and eventually Francesco started producing a few on his own to fill in the gaps. After six tracks, it was quite clear that there was a project developing, one in which he could finally experiment freely, leaving behind the rules that often come with dance tracks. And so L.U.C.A. was born. I Semi Del Futuro is an album that embraces a new-hippie vibe, strongly pervaded by a mystical naturalism. This is a whole new universe in the making, where rumbling magmatic atmospheres evolve gradually in a journey through an idealist new world, celestial interludes revealing a full takeover of nature, with a pervasive library feel that dates back to the great Italian masters, carrying on Edizioni Mondo's legacy. The label name Mondo has its roots in "Mondo Movies", an Italian movie genre born in the '60s. 180-gram vinyl. Limited edition of 500. Edizioni Mondo returns with its second 12" series, following its acclaimed four-part debut in 2015. While the first series focused on seascapes, this second chapter delves deeper into Edizioni Mondo's world, presenting new views and artists. Niagara, released in advance of the L.U.C.A. album, contains three different versions of the same track; one from Rotla, one from Polysick, and L.U.C.A.'s own quirky version, which is surprisingly dancefloor-friendly. Mondo takes its name from the Italian mondo film genre, and is inspired by library music, with the goal of producing music that is descriptive of concepts, images, and environments.

The Mondo productions started with four releases to describe locations, dedicated to seascapes; scenarios range from sea fauna to poaching, from natural parks to sea dunes. Landscapes surrounded by plains, mountains, lakes, forests, beaches, and marches. A land that still recalls legends, fantastic tales that tell the story, the events, the origin of a real place, when past and present coexist in perfect harmony. Four records to describe the seasons. A journey through the rise and fall of the sun, the bright light of a spring day, the warm wind that dissolves the sand on its way to the rainy season. This CD collects these four records, released individually in 2015: Precipizio (MONDO 001EP), Laguna (MONDO 002EP), Dune (MONDO 003EP), and Selva (MONDO 004EP), with music by L.U.C.A., Rotla, Studio 22, and Odeon.
