In the cracks that sprawl between electronic and analog music, visual art, and craft creation, Yamila dances on the edge of sound and conceptual heights. The Spanish composer, cellist, singer, and producer is based between Belgium, Holland, and Spain. In recent years, Yamila has created music for contemporary dance productions in places such as The Gothenburg Opera, Netherlands Dans Theater, and Dance Forum Taipei, among others. Her projects have been presented at festivals such as Sonic Acts Festival (Amsterdam), Arts Electronica (Linz), Seoul International Computer Music Festival, STRP Festival (Eindhoven), and Today's Art Festival (The Hague), to name a few. With Iras Fajro on Forbidden Colours, her debut album, Yamila summons in 11 songs the strength of electronic sounds in front of a fragile voice that at times unfolds in small coral clusters. The brilliant electronic arpeggios and rhythms dissolve in the velvety voices of the cello, which are sometimes intertwined with the creations of two collaborators, the British producer and composer Clark and the multifaceted ex-flamenco Niño de Elche. 180 gram vinyl; includes download card. "My love wears forbidden colours, My life believes / My love wears forbidden colours, My life believes in you once again."

This is the 11th album on the Forbidden Colours label. Lyrics, ideas, and sounds were exchanged at the speed of broadband with Maite (Mursego). Aiora (Zea Mays) required only two lines, executing like an emotive, humanity-filled machine. Gaizka and Ager (Audience) arrived as they always do, fitting their music into impossible spaces. Miren (Mice) voiced her heart while opening up her throat, while Rafa Rodrigo really strummed his guitar. Ainara LeGardon brought the extremes, the excitement. "Our cries arrived while listening to hundreds of horses galloping across the plains, dust floating in the air behind them. The feeling of everything falling into place, finally. All of this had just become an album." Aitor Etxebarria closed the door, elegantly. Moxal is the name given to a foal. Sensitive to the environment, the places it wanders and the beings around it. Sometimes doubtful, impatient, though always ready to listen while growing and learning to walk alone. Moxal is a project coordinated by musician and producer Hannot. After Audience, his new proposal is a space for others to inhabit. Though wild, Moxal lets people come close, basking in the warmth, assembling things and building oneself through proximity and untamed listening. My love wears forbidden colours / My life believes / My love wears forbidden colours / My life believes in you once again. Includes download code.
Every song will be presented with exclusive audiovisual pieces created by different artists at Moxal and Forbidden Colours.

Quest, transit, chaos, mutation, transfiguration, ascension, and illumination; these are some of the steps followed in the journey of life that are embodied on each track of the album Adonai. The solo debut by composer Marco Paul condenses a career of more than ten years in which the search for the truth of oneself has traveled and been nurtured by different genres and cultures. Adonai is an odyssey that combines sounds and images of earthly and oneiric worlds, an audiovisual work that opens several windows to the different perceptions of the facts that make up human life. After nine years of constant international touring, six albums and more than 400 performances with the bands Sour Soul, Ratbot, and Funk My Jesus, as well as the conception and musicalization of the award-winning short films Undermine (2013) and 24K All You Need Is Gold (2016), Paul decided to retire to an island in the Caribbean, where he refined his sound. Thus, between 2014 and 2016 he created the music for Adonai, a work produced by Aitor Etxebarria under the moniker Forbidden Colours. The recording includes guests such as Etxebarria (synthesizer, electronic magic) and Hibai Etxebarria (double bass) from the Basque Country; Michael Alan Hams (drums and percussion) and Joe D'Etienne (trumpet); and Fatima Gozlan. The consummation of the work is a mid-length film created in 2018. It consists of five chapters directed by five different directors. The audiovisual journey begins with the conception of the philosophical "Filius", an alchemical symbol that represents the inner child, which transforms the experiences of life into the soul's gold. Later, in "Sylvian" (a title that refers to the brain fissure that contains the auditory cortex), by listening to the subtle message that surrounds us, our consciousness and perception expand. Then, in "Tiamat", the pristine chaos that gave birth to the gods, embodies chaos, the confusion generated by the multiple voices: on one hand the moral and imposed precepts, and on the other hand, the inner voice that seeks the liberation of the infinite possibilities. In "Hawa", through the recognition of the power of solitude and introspection self-reflective awareness is reached. Finally "Adonai" is the ascension to enlightenment: the further connection with the absolute. As an encore, "Teurári" is a gift: a tiny flower where all the points of the universe merge.

Modular nerds Kino Internacional and Borja Piñeiro from Reykjavik606 always challenge the fine line between music-making and story-telling. For "Everything Happens For A Reason", the duo join forces with the maestro Odei Astibia on the drums, where they jam on the infamous Mecca Studios for a really beautiful mind trip. "Lake Nakaumi" leads the listeners to some lonely scenario where the modular and pads travel together on the same wagon. Forbidden Colours called Basque techno leader Kastil for a remix who recorded seven minutes straight and trippy techno.

Eduardo De La Calle is back on Forbidden Colours, again flaunting his connection with El_Txef_A. The release consists of three original cuts. On the A Side at 45 rpm is the energy and freneticism of "Hobson's Choice": "Because a person may refuse to accept what is offered, the two options are taking it or taking nothing." On the B side, the sublime "Paradox Of Choice" leads with a strange kick loop and astral synthesizers followed by "Transportation Forecasting", where a classic 4x4 kick is paired with analog recordings to depict a more colorful setting.

After more than ten years releasing music under the pseudonym of El_Txef_A, the enigmatic Basque musician is opens a new era with his first solo record as Aitor Etxebarria. Markak is Aitor's first original work for cinema. After the premiere of the documentary at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, this limited vinyl release coincides with the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Gernika (one of the main themes of the documentary). Composed and recorded in the Basque Country, Aitor stopped for a few months, his schedule full from touring, to focus just on the film score. In the case of Gernika, and the bombing suffered on April 26th, 1937, is a deep and lasting mark of profound symbolic value. For the creation, a number of internal symbolic norms are essential, necessary to lend meaning to our environment. The creator creates on the basis of the stories he has received, the images, the feelings. Gernika's past is a field for creation amongst Gernika's young people. The documentary explores what these young creators "have locked away inside them," their emotions. The bombing is a wall in the life of people, an interruption. It is a violence that breaks away from peaceful routine, a denial of the freedom to choose that a country and its inhabitants should have. Contrasting with this is democracy, the political system that guarantees the freedom of people: "My love wears forbidden colours / My life believes / My love wears forbidden colours / My life believes in you once again."

The final remix pack for El_Txef_A's 2014 sophomore album We Walked Home Together (FIAKUN 002CD/LP). Kompakt co-owner Reinhard Voigt delivers a weird, dry, yet easy and acid-influenced reinterpretation of "The Love We Lost (feat. Woolfy)." Dave DK is the first one to rework "Mugarrirantz (feat. Napoka Iria)," showing his love for the Basque Euskara language in which the song is written. Bringing in the classic analog flavor is Damian Schwartz with a classic MPC sound for "Claim of Planet Earth." Finally, El_Txef_A delivers a reinterpretation of the same track, giving it a mystic feel reminiscent of Orbital's first albums. Limited edition of 300.
