Galaktika Records -- the Barcelona-based imprint with roots in Venezuela -- celebrate their 5-year milestone at last with a fresh new compilation of classy and smooth party jams, expertly presented by DJs Maetrik & Garnica. Enlisted by label boss Maurice Aymard, the trio present many of their own productions across this double CD along with gems from the Galaktika back catalog and other selected favorites. On CD1, Maetrik leads listeners on a journey through the deeper realms of techno and house, kicking off slow and sexy with some disco-splashed deep house from Michael J. Collins. CD1 also features exquisite music from Pezzner, Dixie Yure, Himan, Cosmic Cowboys, Pablo Bolivar and Mikael Stavöstrand & Cesare vs. Disorder. Maetrik's own aptly-named techno burner "Bottom Heavy" is another highlight of the mix, and exclusive to the CD is an absolutely blissful track from his Maceo Plex pseudonym, "Her Security." On CD2, Garnica brings a slightly cosmic and definitely funky vibe to the celebration as he effortlessly blends together house and tech-house selections from Gui Boratto, Kruse & Nuernberg, Chopstick & Till Von Sein, Gorge and newcomers Iron Curtis and Paulo Olarte -- full of groove to keep music lovers moving. Culled from five years of record releases amounting to over 100 tracks and 40 unique artist collaborations, Maurice Aymard, Garnica and Maetrik have created a genuinely warm, timeless and spirited vibe on this compilation that makes it an essential album for dance music fans. Other artists include: Mod. Civil, Daso, Youandme, Ahmet Sisman, Sabb, David Durango, Clement Meyer, Einmusik, Uner Meets Hitch and Hiro.

Maurice Aymard releases his debut EP on his own label, with two strong remixes. The first one comes from Gui Boratto, and it's a massive tune. He changes the whole track, stamping his sound on the remix and adding an incredible Rhodes -- an epic remix that will last forever. Garnica turns the tune into techno for peak-time hours, with groove and percussion as the main course.

Galaktika prints a limited edition vinyl. Pablo Bolivar is a respected artist of the Spanish scene. On "Dynamo," a smooth organ touches your soul. On "Wood City," Bolivar takes his rhythm on a journey with a lot of feeling and with an elegant essence defined by smooth vocals and heavy bass lines. Kiki goes for a classic remix that keeps the groove and the flow, and Iron Curtis converts it into a passionate deep house tune.

"Here is the first compilation of Galaktika Records, where we put together the best label's tracks for the first time in two CDs. The first one, mixed by Maurice Aymard with fresh material; and Pablo Bolivar who reviews classic themes already included in the label's catalogue. This is a great chance to listen again to such emblematic tracks as Garnica's 'Laderas' or Martinez's 'Whop Whop' to name a few, and of course, to take a look at the latest acquisitions, of which we can find Patrick Zigon, PauloOlarte or Gui Boratto among others. Two music sessions where we are introduced to the Galaktika Record's world which with five years in the scene, has been established as one of the most important labels from the Catalonian landscape."

"Second long play release of Galaktika Records, this time is the turn of Garnica, who fit a full record of powerful tracks, some already known, such as 'The Lucky Guy' or 'Hielo Sobre Arena' and others completely new, like 'Cae Nieve en Caracas' or 'Aerobus Garnica,' manages to create a homogenous and consistent record. For example, 'Fix Me!,' one of the oldest themes of the record, this track has anything to envy to the new productions of the elan that, as usual, they are located of a high dose of harmonies and enthusiasm. A perfect example of this is the track that opens the record, 'Cae Nieve en Caracas,' where Garnica take us for a walk though a tropical city covered with snow. Or 'Deeper,' a tech house bomb with an acid and powerful sound that make it perfect to kick the dance floor. Another surprise that we find on the record is 'Aerobus,' a classical Garnica track -- that is to say, groove and melody in equal parts, in this case, with a house groove quite attractive. Included on the record, also, two remixes: one of 'The Lucky Guy' by Jaumëtic (GLK004), who is a manager of the prestigious label Regular, and the other is from Laderas in charge of Matzak (GLK012), who has published in labels so respected as Boxer Recordings or Citizen Records. With this release Garnica proposes us a trip through its universe and he shows us all his facets. Definitely, this is a good opportunity to check the catalogue of Garnica, always full of nuances, rhythms and careful productions and to discover his new material that points out more and more high."

"Galaktika Records' 19th reference counts on Patrick Zigon, a rising value in the German techno scene. Zigon, on his Auttotude EP, brings us closer into a mysterious world, with rounded and zig-zagging sounds where nothing is what it seems. On Auttotude's title track, Patrick manages to design a track full of shades and efficient progression. These characteristics make this track one of the best of the season. 'Navazza's quality doesn't remain behind. This is a typical Patrick Zigon track. On this occasion, he goes straight to the point, but he doesn't lose the intimacy which is the key of this release. As Galaktika Records used to do, this release comes with remixes. In this case, a remix created by Lars Wickinger. The Lars Wickinger's vision of 'Autottude' is more intrepid, but keeping with the original atmosphere of the track."

"Finally Garnica's back on Galaktika Records. He brings us 'Sweet How': a completely hypnotic track that will leave nobody indifferent on the dance floor. This release comes with two remixes. One of them by Sasse, best known as the owner, A&R and main producer of the German label Moodmusic Records and remixer of artists like Jori Hulkkonen or Wagon Cooking by naming a few. The other one is made by Mathias Schaffhäuser, who rules the respected label Ware and who has published tracks on other important labels like Force Tracks or Kompakt. The remix of Sasse gets straight to the point, creating a new way closer to the Detroit techno, but respecting the original track's atmosphere. Whereas the remix of Schaffhäuser is influenced by the dub techno with a constant crescendo that deepens the mood and drama of the original track."

"This is Swat Squad's second release for Galaktika Records, the Sleep Traveler EP. The brainchild of Oliver Henares, Swat Squad has been published before by labels like Treibstoff and Resopal. Henares also runs a record label of his own, Pulsewith. He mainly plays live, but also DJs. The journey begins with the title track, and what a beginning it is. When the needle drops, our hero (you) is confronted with a series of adventures, one after another, one deadlier than the other. He gets attacked by laser guns, keyboards and walls of sound and always manages to come out at the other end, ready for what's next. On the dancefloor 'Sleep Traveler' will hit hard and show no mercy. On the second track, we find our hero (you) standing tall in an eerie land of ice and mirrors. You aren't cold though, a fire is burning inside you. Unpredictable cuts are thrown your way, but a person with a mission won't stop. This time you're the one everyone should be afraid of. When you drop 'Iceberg' on a club, people will get in the zone and dance all the way through it."

With Martinez remix. "With The Rivington EP, Galaktika treads the boards of electronic lyricism with strength. Produced by the Brazilian Gui Boratto, a composer that has published with the best labels on the planet, this track is the product of vibrant pads, gloomy melodies and the DJ's thorough vision of electronica. The Rivington EP is pure synthetic feeling, it is the catalyst that brings together the indietronic psychedelia of Morr Music with the dancefloor effervescence of Border Community. The remix of 'Rivington Suite' is the work of a well-known member of the family, Martinez, who turns around the emotion of the track and gives it a swift and pounding rhythm. The track is sustained on the darkness of minimal and the acoustic textures of electro: the entire cut is bathed with fragmented synthesizers that tie with a deep and hypnotic bassline. This remix is the perfect piece to liven up the dancefloor and break all bounds."

"Rafael Garnica, member of the collective 'Los Andes Electronicos' and ex-drummer of the Venezuelan rock band Submarino, publishes his second reference in Galaktika. 'Hielo Sobre Arena' makes a wink to the minimal aesthetic but it surpasses the conventionalisms thanks to the deepness of his pads. His continued crescendo is pure emotion and the entry of the bassline marks the point of no return. 'Hielo Sobre Arena' is the track that the DJ has to fit in the exact time, could be the beginning of a tremendous end. On side B, Garnica hardens his proposal and the atmosphere is so dark, like delirious. 'Laderas' is perverse and exciting, a jewel for the body and the soul. Matzak remix (debut album on Boxer Sport) is the next step, but in another direction, the French producer offers his version in a more electro-techno key. From the drawings of Garnica, Matzak invents his own epic version. Venezuela vs. France, the organic virtuosity of Garnica and the synthetic forcefulness of Matzak."

With Joachim Spieth remix. "Benedet, a studio virtuoso and professional technician, exploits in his second maxi the infinite possibilities of today's virtual samplers. 'The Clown' is a piece of work that does not rely on pre-established sounds. It is a lesson about the creative potential of the machines. 'The Clown' with roaring dynamics, Benedet opens the maxi with a palpitating drum bass, dry and clean. As the beats develop, the pounding techno makes way for the melodic subtleties of trance, whilst clicks and other crafty sounds appear almost unnoticeable. And this is when 'The Clown' develops into a hypnotic and endless mix of harmonies, groove and beats. Maxi after maxi, step by step, Galaktika is becoming the object of desire of many stars of the electronica."

"One of the uprising talents from the Spanish scene. His sound connects with German Minimal Techno (Berlin - Cologne) and he fuses actual tendencies keeping the essences of the classic electronic sound. His music shines specially for his personal sound, a sound that he manages to establish in his own productions, he shows us these in Klinischtod, his debut album for the label Regular, definitely a record of reference in the actual electronic scene. In 'How To Play Phantomly,' Iñaqui Marín chooses for a classical sound and built his speech for the dance floor. Dark, on side B, behaves shamelessly, it completes a 'single' that shows us an artist in constant evolution."
