Neka Neka (on General Purpose) is the first solo release by multi-disciplinary artist, Ex Ponto (Ivan Masić). Coming of age during the mid-90s Melbourne rave scene, Ivan was infected with music by the legendary Kate Bathgate on 3RRR community radio. Hearing music by the likes of Oliver Lieb, Will E Tell, HMC, and other producers of the time, an infection quickly turned into a music obsession that lives on today. In the following years Ivan would go on to manage one of Melbourne's longest running record stores (Dixons Records) and in 2005 built a recording studio, aptly named The Womb. From 2005-15, he produced and played on over 20 albums for improvisation collective, Council of Elders and, experimental, no-wave band, Wunderlust. Neka Neka is a nod to ex-Yugoslavian experimentalists of the '80s (Rex Ilusivii, Kozmetika, Miha Kralj, etc.) and the thriving, late-night hedonism of Belgrade's Club 20/44. Includes download code.

General Purpose presents Len Liese's latest offering, Initials, an electronic experimentation in forward-thinking Balearic music. Originally written between 2014 and 2015, these discarded, lost ideas persisted enough in Liese's imagination to require further investigation. Taking a pause between his well-known dub explorations, Initials is the result of this inquiry.

Blow In The Bag -- the second release for General Purpose. This time, label bosses Len Leise and Salvador Ricardo, as General Purpose, have teamed up with Anton Klint of Sweden. "Suck Of The Sav" is a melodic array of swirling jungle sounds colliding in a rainforest off the coast of Jupiter. Anton Klint shows his rough psychedelic techno sound with his "Suck Of The Sav" remix. "Slim Dusty" is what it would sound like if you were riding a kangaroo whilst on acid in the Australian outback. It's a bouncy, fun, quirky, percussive number.

2018 repress. Len Leise's Ing is the first release for General Purpose (GP), a record label created by Leise and longtime DJ partner and collaborator, Salvador. Leise and Salvador neither plan to release exclusively on GP, nor promise regular releases. It's a label for when they can find the time, energy, money and most importantly, the sound they believe in. Ing is about embracing change, experimentation and progression. Terrified to follow a format, Leise looks to other genres for inspiration. He turned to his love for dub, Afro, post punk and experimental music to find guidance. Artists like Scientist, Jah Shaka, Savant, Adrian Sherwood and Andromeda all in their own way influence Ing. Ing is not what fans might expect from Leise. Ing is a dub record, a post punk record, an experimental record, a balearic record, an homage record, a record with a purpose. Leise has previous releases on International Feel and Aficionado Recordings.
