The Guerssen label is based in Catalonia, Spain, and has been in business since 1996. Their growing catalog is filled with reissues of some of the best psychedelic, folk and progressive titles from the late '60s to early '80s, combining well-known titles with some of the most unknown, obscure records in the worldwide scene. Baris Manço, Factory, Merrell Fankhauser (Fapardokly, HMS Bounty), Barry Dransfield, Tree People, and Dave Bixby are some of the artists represented, and there's both vinyl LP and CD versions of most of their titles.

Retrospective of British mod/freakbeat/pop-art heroes The Eyes including all their cult classic 45s ("When The Night Falls," "I'm Rowed Out," "My Degeneration") plus cool rare tracks sourced from demos and acetates. Formed in London in 1964, The Eyes took the early feedback experiments and pop art image of bands like the Who one step further. The band wore dyed parkas in various pastel colors and brightly colored rugby shirts with huge eye symbols on the chest. Their raw, energetic sound and distinctive style combined aggressive, fuzz-driven guitar riffs with catchy melodies and a youthful defiance that captured the energy of the London mod scene. Their music bridged rawness freakbeat with the emerging psychedelic sound that would dominate the latter half of the decade. Tracks like the feedback-laden "When The Night Falls" or the fuzzed-out "You're Too Much" sounded years ahead of its time and they would influence the mod, garage revival and indie/shoegaze scene of the following decades. The Eyes only released a handful of singles between 1965 and 1966. They disbanded in 1967 and unfortunately they never released a full album during their short lifespan. Here it is! Remastered sound. Includes eight-page color insert with liner notes by Paul "Smiler" Anderson and rare photos/memorabilia, along with download card.

Official reissue of this sought-after Canadian psychedelic hard-rock album from 1970. Formed in Toronto in the late '60s, It's All Meat (the name was taken from a dog food commercial!) soon caught the attention of influential character Jack London (frontman of pre-Steppenwolf band Jack London and the Sparrows) who managed the band and secured a deal with major label Columbia Records. After recording their first 45, the proto-punk MC5/Stones sounding "Feel It," the band started working on their first album with the tandem of Jed MacKay and Rick McKim as main songwriters. It's All Meat was released in 1970 and offered a powerful mix of garage-rock, psychedelia and early hard-rock, drawing influences from bands like the Stones, Country Joe & The Fish, Doors, Velvet Underground -- tracks like "Roll My Own" or the lysergic "Crying Into The Deep Lake" are now considered classics of the genre. Sadly, the band would split soon after the LP was released. Original artwork in gatefold sleeve and remastered sound in 24-bit domain. Includes insert with liner notes by Plastic Crimewave and rare photos/memorabilia. Includes download card with non-LP singles and rare tracks.

Psychedelic hard-rock Holy Grail, originally released by this Greek band in 1976 but sounding more akin to late '60s/early '70s. Highly recommended to fans of heavy-fuzz guitars, think Dark, Fire, Open Mind, or even Spacemen 3 circa Revolution. The 4 Levels Of Existence (Τα 4 Επίπεδα Της Ύπαρξης) formed around 1974 in Athens from the ashes of a band called Frog's Eyes. Some of their influences were groups like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Who, or Iron Butterfly as well as traditional Greek music. They recorded their sole album in just ten hours with no overdubs and it was eventually released (500 copies only) on the small Venus label. The cover artwork was created by guitar player Athanasios Alatas. The band sadly split soon after but they left behind one of the most legendary and sought after albums not only from Greece but also from the worldwide heavy-prog scene. Remastered sound with original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve with OBI. Insert with liner notes by Klemen Breznikar (It's Psychedelic Baby) and rare photos / memorabilia. Includes "Someday In Athens," sampled on "Run This Town" by Jay-Z featuring Rihanna and Kanye West.

RELEASE DATE: 6/6/2025
Absolute monster when talking about US hard-rock/proto-doom private pressings. Hailing from Florida, Bolder Damn released this beast in 1971. Ultra-heavy, "raw-in-your-face" sound with loud fuzzed-out guitar, solid rhythm section and manic vocals. Bolder Damn formed in 1969 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The original lineup consisted of John Anderson on vocals and rhythm guitar, Glenn Eaton on lead guitar, Ron Refett on bass, Mark Gaspard on keyboards, and Bob Eaton on drums. Initially performing covers, they gradually incorporated original material into their sets. Their energetic live performances led them to open for notable acts such as Alice Cooper, MC5, The Amboy Dukes, and Blue Cheer. In 1971, after Gaspard's departure, the remaining members recorded their sole album, Mourning, at Hyperbolic Studios in Florida. The recording session lasted only four hours, resulting in a raw, in-your-face heavy sound. The album was privately pressed with approximately 200 copies distributed mainly to friends, family, and local fans. Side 2 featured the 16-minute epic "Dead Meat," which reflects the band's heavy, proto-doom style, reminiscent of contemporaries like Black Sabbath and Blue Cheer. In 1972 Anderson and Refett were drafted into military service during the Vietnam War, leading to Bolder Damn's dissolution. Comes with original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve plus OBI. Remastered sound. Fold-out insert with liner notes/interview with singer John Anderson and rare pictures. Includes download card. RIYL: Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Pentagram, MC5, Sainte Anthony's Fyre.

LP version. In 1968, Weird Herald released a now sought-after promo only 45 with the songs "Saratoga James"/'Just Yesterday." That 45 was part of a full album that was never released. Music ranges from haunting, beautiful folk-rock with spacey acoustic guitar playing and delicate vocal harmonies, cool laid-back country-folk, to energetic hard-rockers à la early Moby Grape or Jefferson Airplane with stunning electric leads. Not forgetting "Where I'm Bound" which has a cool Notorious Byrd Brothers feel. Hailing from Los Gatos in California, Weird Herald featured two accomplished guitar players who are local legends in the San Jose / Santa Cruz area, Billy Dean Andrus and Paul Ziegler. Their roots can be traced to the early San Jose folk / coffeehouse scene. Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane/Hot Tuna) was a close friend and used to jam with them. Billy Dean Andrus was Skip Spence's best friend since high school and they both used to perform as a folk duo in the early days. A fantastic rhythm section, Cecil Bollinger on bass and Pat McIntire on drums rounded the band. Sadly, in 1970 Billy Dean Andrus died of a drug overdose in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He was immortalized on the songs "Ode for Billy Dean" written by Jorma Kaukonen for Hot Tuna and "Chicago" by the Doobie Brothers. Paul Ziegler ended up joining up Hot Tuna in the early '70s. He passed away in 2000. Problems with the management/producers led to the planned album being shelved and, according to legend, the master tapes destroyed. Luckily, reel-to-reel copies have remained with the Andrus family for half over a century, unheard until now. Includes eight-page insert with detailed liner notes by Cam Cobb (authors of Weighted Down: The Complicated Life Of Skip Spence) with input from the Andrus family and the surviving Weird Herald members and rare photos. Comes with download card with 11 previously unreleased bonus tracks, including basement demos from 1967 by the first line-up of the band. RIYL: Moby Grape, Jefferson Airplane, The Byrds, Milk Carton Kids, Buffalo Springfield, Maitreya Kali, Everly Brothers, Psychedelic Rock, Folk-Rock, Loner Folk.

Top-shelf previously unreleased psychedelic pop from 1967-68 by this post-Lomax Alliance Anglo-American trio. A mix of West Coast/Swingin' London sounds with killer vocal harmonies, fuzz guitar, tape/studio effects. Think psych-era Beatles, Byrds, Nazz, Buffalo Springfield, Colours, and The Moon. The convulsed story of Rain involves Brian Epstein, The Beatles, Merseybeat, Liverpool, New York, Linda Eastman (who photographed the band) and more. Basically, when the Brian Epstein-managed band Lomax Alliance parted ways with their frontman Jackie Lomax (who was about to embark on a George Harrison-assisted solo career), his colleagues in Lomax Alliance -- guitarist John Cannon, bassist Tom Caccetta and drummer Bugs Pemberton -- left London behind to relocate to New York, where they changed their name to Rain (after his favorite Beatles track) and recorded a full album with producer Chris Huston (The Undertakers, Young Rascals). Despite the outstanding production, top notch songwriting and superb musicianship, the album never left the acetate stage. The trio played at the Fillmore and did more studio work under the Gypsy Wizards Band name that remained also unreleased, before disbanding in 1969. Tomorrow Never Comes includes all the tracks from the Rain acetate, recorded 1967-68, plus two songs from the Gypsy Wizards Band one (1968-69). Vintage styled artwork in hard cardboard sleeve. Remastered sound. Includes Insert with liner notes by David Wells and rare photos/memorabilia.

West Coast psychedelia/bluesy acid-rock by this true hippie band led by the legendary Merrell Fankhauser (Fapardokly, HMS Bounty) and genius guitar player Jeff Cotton (Captain Beefheart Magic Band). This is their classic and sought after first album from 1971. Remastered sound with original artwork in hard cardboard silver foil sleeve like the original. Includes insert with lyrics, photos and extensive liner notes by Patrick Lundborg.
"The mix of bluesy urban LA exhaust fume vibes and tribal desert mystique is as archetypal an early 1970s SoCal trip as you can find. With strong songwriting and a pro-level recording, the album is given a clear musical identity via the excellent slide guitar, harmony vocals, and occasional sax." --Patrick Lundborg (Acid Archives)

Vivid peyote-induced psychedelia from Texas sounding like an impossible meld between the Elevators and the Velvet Underground, but possessing a strongly unique disposition. Recorded in 1970 but never released at the time, featuring future members of Roky Erickson's backing band Bleib Alien/The Aliens. Formed in Austin in the late 1960s by visionary lyricist and autoharp player Billy Bill Miller and his friend Tom McGarrigle on guitar, Cold Sun evolved from a band called Cauldron (later Amethyst) which at one point featured drummer John Kearney from Roky Erickson's first band The Spades. Miller, a proto-Goth figure always dressed in black, highly influenced by Joe Meek and vintage sci-fi/horror movies, started to experiment with weird noises out of his electrified autoharp, favoring the audio-oriented drug mescaline over the LSD associated with hippies. Amethyst jammed with musicians such as Benny Thurman from the 13th Floor Elevators and Steve Webb from the Lost And Found. The definitive Amethyst line-up, with Hugh Patton on drums and Mike Waugh on bass, played at venues like the I.L. Club, a historical landmark of Austin blues and psychedelic music. It was through Mike Waugh's friendship with Elevators drummer John Ike Walton that Billy Miller and the band hooked up with the local label/studio Sonobeat, who expressed interest in recording an album with the intention to shop it to a major label: thus, the now-legendary Cold Sun album was born. The band, driven by Miller's strange electrified autoharp sounds plus the massive fuzz guitar of McGarrigle, dressed with feedback and futuristic lyrics, laid down several tracks in between rehearsals at Miller's house on Castle Hill. Never released at the time, the Cold Sun album languished in oblivion and the musicians moved on to other things. It wasn't until 1990 that the Cold Sun album was finally released on vinyl by the Rockadelic label, followed by a new edition on German label World In Sound in 2008, now out of print. For this new edition, Guerssen has tried to imagine how the Cold Sun album could have looked like if it had been actually released in 1970. It comes with vintage styled artwork by psychedelic illustrator Callum Rooney. Sourced from the same audio master as the original Rockadelic LP, the sound has been vastly improved thanks to the meticulous and careful restoration/remastering by audiophile engineer Ezra Lesser.

LP version. First-ever reissue of this elusive private pressing from 1970 by British singer/songwriter Keith Noble (a founding member of pre-Pink Floyd bands Sigma 6/The Abdabs and co-composer of Chad & Jeremy's hit "A Summer Song"). Mr. Compromise, originally released as a tiny demo pressing on the custom Eden label (home also of other psych-folk rarities like Mourning Phase), showcases the versatile songwriting talent of Noble: jazzy-bossa pop, Kinks/Hollies/Byrds styled full electric numbers and haunting psychedelic folk not unlike Al Stewart or Incredible String Band. Featuring Keith's friend from the pre-Floyd days Rado Klose (one of the earliest members of Pink Floyd) on lead guitar. After the album release, Keith Noble dedicated his life to architecture and teaching and he also wrote several musicals. Sadly, he passed away in 2014. This long-awaited reissue of Mr. Compromise has been possible with help from the Noble family. Featuring remastered sound with original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve. Psychedelic hard-rock with occult overtones by this London based band featuring drummer Ric Parnell (Atomic Rooster, Spinal Tap). This is their sought-after sole album, originally released in 1970 and housed in a cover designed by Roger Wootton of Comus. Horse formed in 1968 when former high school friends Rod Roach and Adrian Hawkins started writing songs together. Rod had previously played lead guitar with various groups (included a brief stint with Andromeda). Horse final line-up was established in early 1969 with Adrian Hawkins on vocals, Rod Roach on guitar, Colin Standring on bass, and Ric Parnell on drums. Horse started gigging around London, sharing stage with acts like Deep Purple, Joe Cocker, and David Bowie, soon establishing a large following due to their exciting live shows. After receiving interest from several record companies, they finally signed with RCA Records. The Horse self-titled album was recorded at Olympic Studios, produced by Rod Roach, and released in 1970. It's a fantastic example of post-psychedelia and early hard-rock/proto-metal, dominated by Roach's killer fuzz-wah guitar and Hawkins powerful vocals. First ever vinyl reissue in original artwork. Sourced from the original production tapes. Includes insert with liner notes. RIYL: Black Sabbath, Andromeda, Open Mind, Black Widow, Bulldog Breed.
