Emilio Acevedo, the man behind Lasser Drakar, is a proper electronic/indie veteran, having been involved in several projects since the late '80s. Founder of the band Titan with which he has put out four albums with, the group collaborated with figures like Gary Numan and Egyptian Lover. With his duos Sonido Lasser Drakar and Maria Daniela Y Su Sonido Lasser he approached dance music in his own high energy pop way always with a touch of humor. Included 7" features Tara Delong on "Socialism".
Hippie Dance label head Rebolledo on the release: "Back in 2006, when I had recently opened my first little bar in Playa del Carmen 'Corvette Ninja', Emilio came to town to perform live with Maria Daniela to La Santanera, where I was a resident DJ. Besides his performance there, he agreed to do a solo DJ set at my little place, I was super flashed by the music he was playing which included some amazing covers and references. When he finished playing, I had to ask what all that was... he told me most of it was un edited material he had produced basically just to DJ... I was even more flashed... Ten years passed and we met again in Playa del Carmen having dinner before a show where he was playing with his band and I was DJing... I asked him about that music I was so flashed about a decade ago and he told me he still had it, most of it just in those CDs he used to play, still unreleased... I asked him if he could send it to me to play it and so he did during the next weeks... Every time I would open a file I would be amazed and every time I would play those tracks, the reactions were amazing and often people on my side would ask me what the hell was that... So, at some point I had to ask 'Would you like to release this on our label?' Lucky me, he was up for it and here we are now in 2019 releasing his first solo material under the Lasser Drakar name, the tracks he produced between 2001 and 2004 which in my opinion happen to be more modern than lots of the things you find these days."

The eighth piece of The Golden Ravedays of the series introduces two tracks that will take you to the far side of somewhere you've never been before. They are both reminiscent of outer space blues playing spooky games in a dust bowl. Side A features "Tuesday Paris Texas", a tastefully arranged track with vintage sounds passing nonchalantly through a wild western aural landscape. The music is announced like a cowboy movie dual, complete with bar doors swinging on rusty nails in slow motion. Mournful guitar strings swirl over a steady horseback galloping beat, expanding into a full-on-fire dance track. Halfway through, a woman's haunted voice appears and disappears like an eerie siren, a gunshot is fired (was that a gunshot?), a man whispers "what!?". "Tuesday Paris Texas" is in no hurry to give an answer. Side B features "Mirage", a desert sound collage glued to a steady pulse that rolls and rolls, circumventing any destination. "Mirage" is a contour map of no surprising peaks, just undulating valleys of wistful cathodic sound creeks, sometimes veering off to plains in full-view of the moon and in earshot of solitary wolf cries. Like "Tuesday Paris Texas", "Mirage" is testament of Superpitcher's versatile prospecting beyond the elemental sound tools of the electronic music trade.

Where number eight of the series took its listeners to outer space (TGR 008LP), number nine introduces two tracks that are an underwater celebration of all that is good and all that is sad. Side A features "Hiding". Imagine galloping sea horses pulling a Christmas chariot filled with dreams-come-true past enchanting mermaids, smiling sharks, waving tortoises, and nonplussed eels leaving a gifted blanket of mystical sound in their wake. "Hiding" stretches and breaks into many layers of listening love without enforcing one particular sound. Side B features "Flying". The piece is occupied by a sub-aquatic melody colored by whale sounds and the echoes of immersed guitar strings. "Flying" is not about complex development or diversity, but the weightless drifting of sounds that create a wonderfully hazy cloud to lose oneself in and fly, deliciously with the dolphins. Rest assured, the ending is speckled with whimsical chimes showers, paving the way for the softest of landings.

Side A features "Andy", music made by Superpitcher in memory and admiration of a pioneer artist and his works. "Andy Warhol looks a scream, Hang him on my wall, Andy Warhol, Silver Screen, Can't tell them apart at all, Andy walking, Andy tired, Andy take a little snooze, Tie him up when he's fast asleep, Send him on a pleasant cruise, When he wakes up on the sea, Be sure to think of me and you, He'll think, about paint and he'll think about glue, What a jolly boring thing to do." David Bowie's lyrics about Andy Warhol mirror the groovy yet deeply moving emotion of this track. The music Superpitcher imagined here is a pleasant cruise in itself and once you wake up from it, you will for sure think of Andy. Side B features "Yves". The track starts with a long introduction of harp music and then gently evolves into one of the more fragile and poetic pieces Superpitcher has created thus far for The Golden Ravedays record. Similar to "Andy", this track is dedicated to an artist, Yves Saint Laurent. What is clear in this music is that there is an intense understanding of the suffering Yves Saint Laurent lived throughout his life as an artist and fashion designer. As only Superpitcher can, he translated that emotion into this beautiful and touching piece of music.

The sixth piece of The Golden Ravedays puzzle introduces two further tracks of the sound adventure that Superpitcher is taking his listeners on. Side A features "Protest Song". If music is a way of transporting us to other places, "Protest Song" takes its listeners to a desolate, scary, and loveless environment, a burnt-down, burnt-out place where the flesh of its former inhabitants is smoldering, void of goodwill and kindness, in a cloud of toxic and greedy smoke. It's all Kafka and Orwell and suffering -- the most twisted and eerie track so far in The Golden Ravedays saga. What is undeniably clear is an acute sense of regret and loss -- a warning that it could have been avoided, had we only listened to our hearts and protested. In the same vein, on Side B is "Resistance". Produced after the Paris attacks of 2015, Superpitcher outdid himself with this strong message of resistance. Where "Protest Song" paints a picture of under-worldly doom, the techno beat and insistent refrain of "Resistance" sweeps the listener to the surface of the muck of hatred and intolerance we've politically been dumped in. A voice that seems like a trapped animal is calling out. What is it trying to say? Is it crying out for help? Is that animal all of us? "Resistance" represents hope and encouragement and could be the perfect marching track to any demonstration against negative forces. Much needed in this age of bigotry where it seems like time has leaped backwards to a darker side of history. As for the dancefloor -- "Resistance" is irresistible!

The djembe drum on the cover and the two titles of the tracks hint that this edition could potentially include stuff that was inspired by the rhythms and melodies of Africa -- a sound legacy that is of great importance to Superpitcher. Side A features "Bluesin". Rumor has it that Superpitcher visited South Africa and adventurously traveled into the deep bush-bush where he met new friends with captivating voices who speak in enchanting tongues. Initially, "Bluesin" is bursting with aching, longing, and the oldest story of sorrow, but there is also comic relief and pride in this story; a typical emotional signature of the sound of Africa and the blues that it gave birth to later on. Side B features "Burkina". It all starts rather innocently with "Burkina". One gets carried away by the funky, ethnic drumming thinking yummy yes, this is going to be a virtual trip to the Brazilian Amazon, or maybe a corner of the Congo, Cameroon perhaps, and one is not even side-tracked by the arrival of birdsong and something that hypnotizes, like beautiful sirens because it is all too groovy for any dictionary, and then Mother Superior arrives and all hell breaks loose: Frogs, kudu horns, rattlesnakes, things that hiss and croak and the haunting voice of Her. As if that is not enough to make you believe you have been propelled to a new continent, wait until the ending of Burkina. It will transport you to another universe altogether. The fourth chapter of The Golden Ravedays saga introduces two further tracks of the sound adventure that Superpitcher is taking his fans on during 2017. Side A features "Blood & Berry". It is a captivating track that is reminiscent of one of the very first years when Superpitcher made music under the alias Sir Positive. The beat is broken and the going is slow and rolling and the listening is a warm bath. There are flutes that one never wants to stop and they almost don't. However essentially sweet this track is, like a berry on the tongue, it might lead to some blood on the dancefloor. Listening to Side B of this Golden Ravedays edition is entering a ghost town, alone, under a full moon. "Howl" is a confluence of melodies and rhythms from Africa to Arabia where the snakes are being charmed out of their baskets and it is downright creepy. A spooky voice is saying something but it's not clear what exactly and it is bothersome because deep down, tonight, when alone in the dark, it will be expecting an answer - or else. All you can do is wonder: Did Superpitcher sell his soul to the vampires for the vocals he let lose in this track? He answers by howling at the full moon behind thorn trees, in the shadows. It has nothing to do with George Orwell's magnificent book, but it could remind some of how the apocalypse might sound one day. "1984" is as sweet as the very first track, "Little Raver", of The Golden Ravedays 1 (TGR 001LP), but it stresses the fact that even though Superpitcher produces music mainly intended for the dancefloor - he creates sound that is bordering on the shamanic. "1984" might as well be the meeting of a group of supersonic bottlenose whales that are overly excited to see each other after being separated by many an ocean and moon. Side B of this edition is "Pocket Love". Imagine looking into a kaleidoscope and turning the dial and experiencing all those colors as pockets of love rushing your way and exploding in satin wonderment the moment they past your eyes and ears. Imagine how it must sound like if all the e-mails, tweets, facebook posts, instagrams, pinterests, grandma's postcards, text messages, letters on rice paper, hearts scratched into trees, declarations of eternal loyalty written in sand, phone calls, and videos of the whole universe were all messages of love stuffed into pockets and sent to you. For The Golden Ravedays, Superpitcher employed everything and everybody he is moved by in service of creating a consistently melancholy, gentle, but also complex, strong and fiery mood. By allowing the sound to take its own free course, Superpitcher discovered a new macro-cosmos of noise that he captured in longer than usual tracks that, respectively, not only tell a story, but act as a memoir. Paging through this body of sound, one discovers a place that is haunting, adventurous, playful, velvety, and sometimes essentially surreal. It is similar in experience to diving into an unknown river, serenely floating by visions that consist of a jazzy quality, hitting white waters that drum forth memories and primal poetry all the way from Africa to forests long forgotten, to cascading down waterfalls of unexpected protest, menace and resistance. The sound of the first two tracks that kick off The Golden Ravedays saga is a good testament of the alchemy that is contained in the coming chapters. Like the metaphysical theory that every moment that exists only exists by virtue of all the moments that existed before its turn, "Little Raver" is a sweetly innocent but also heartbreakingly raw introduction to the lucky-packet of wit, depth, melancholy, confusion and cliffhanger surprises of the subsequent albums in The Golden Ravedays horoscope. On the B side, "Snow Blind" brings forth the clarity of sincere determination in an open sound expanse where clusters of melodies sometimes hide, sometimes shoot off and mercilessly stay out of reach and becomes unmaskable - a game that is often cleverly played by Superpitcher in the remaining phases of The Golden Ravedays album. Following his successful debut album, Super Vato (COMEME 001CD, 2011); his highly praised mix CD, Momento Drive (KOMP 117CD, 2014); and all-around mayhem during his adventures as one-half of the Pachanga Boys, Xalapa's finest, Rebolledo, returns with his second solo album, Mondo Alterado. It's a colorful recollection of moments and experiences encompassing the brightest and the darkest, and a sonic journey designed like a mixtape that faithfully reflects Rebolledo's background as DJ and producer. Nine tracks connect for one overarching narrative, sharing elements, motives, and details as they blend together. The artist's signature can be found all over the place, roaming between straight, rock-drenched drumming, sinister atmospheres, raw synth textures, exciting peaks, and foggy bottoms -- but always following the kinetic flow and drive that is such a big part of Rebolledo's compelling charm.

After a couple of humble appearances on Kompakt's Total compilations and the first trilogy on their own label Hippie Dance, which was made out of marimbas, rhymes, time, and a mysterious girl named Christine, Pachanga Boys look back in their own history to present their first full-length album, an exhaustive recollection of their adventures on and off the road while finding their way to true Pachanga enlightenment. Formed by Superpitcher and Rebolledo, this tag team is famous for bending time and space, with the boys balancing exotic spices with hearty flavors, enticing any old mood rebel to take a big bite of happiness. Feeling inspired by old country and folk records, they also opted for a narration to link the album tracks, performed by the truly fantastic Dessagne Twins from Saint Etienne. Together with the masterfully-staged music, those two give you first-hand impressions of the Pachanga Boys' everyday life spent between Cologne and La Pitaya from 2009 to 2012 -- a life consisting of big city nights and mountain weekends, strange markets, dubious cantinas and powerful rivers, riding bikes, and driving around in German cars. Old machines, a wide range of percussion, vocals and field recordings form the sound palette of this simple story true to the Hippie Dance ethos: freedom before anything and everything goes. We Are Really Sorry also contains a DVD showing Pachanga Boys' first filmic attempt.
