Longing for summer, Better Weather is the most soulful cut yet to be heard in the ever-expanding catalog of Alphonse's MPC jams. Spacey and dusty deepness, with a heart yearning gospel vocal delivery from Rev Be, which Alphonse tweaks and manipulates across three unique versions.

Losoul returns to action with his first long-player in almost ten years and delivers a stunning collection of compositions for Hypercolour titled Island Time. Otherwise known as Peter Kremeier, the German producer has mesmerized for many years with his organic and emotive house music, largely released on the influential Playhouse label, but of late has seen him release singles for Karat and Tardis Records, as well as his very own Another Picture label. Fans of Losoul won't be disappointed, as a diverse yet utterly familiar sound aesthetic pours out over the album's seven tracks in his own inimitable style. The jazzy broken beats of "Gold Tooth" shine with their micro-sample chops, whilst "Mean Time" is a dense and dubby slow stomp, teasing the drums with space echo and injecting sparse bass work where it matters. Inventive, spongy house grooves are delivered on "Boppin Lower" and "Square Down Smoother" whilst the album closer, "Lava In You" is a master class in ambient sonics and shimmering keys over a lo-fi swinging groove. It's been over 20 years since Losoul's signature single "Open Door" (1996), and the German producer continues to pour out honest and rewarding music.

Proprietors of the Will & Ink label Yaleesa Hall and Malin Genie present Artin Brown Cahen EP. The mechanical funk of "Artin" swings with plenty of assured groove; shuffling hats, dense kicks, and dubby stabs ping pong across this fierce production. Dario and Marco Zenker, AKA the Zenker Brothers, remix "Artin" into a brutal yet funky techno goliath. "Cahen" is a great slab of compelling techno that keeps an ever evolving groove and some abstract drone. "Brown" finishes as urgently as it starts, perhaps with a cap doffed to the Purpose Maker sounds of a certain Jeff Mills.

Lucretio and Marieu, AKA The Analogue Cops, are back on Hypercolour for the Flimsy Output EP. On "Higher & Higher", Lucretio serves up some prime-time underground vocal house vibes; a filtered vocal and string combo flourishes around a hefty kick drum whilst acidic bleeps rain down. On "Give Out", Lucretio opts for more astute sampling, wrapping a soulful vocal around a loping percussive beat and incessant keys. Marieu reduces the BPMs on "Hit The Power" for a lazy, shuffling jam. Jacking things back up for "XA Swing", Marieu deploys reverberating beats, garage light organs, and transposed vocal refrains.

Having offered a taster of things to come back in September 2016 with the Pressing Matters single (HYPE 054EP), The Cyclist returns to Hypercolour with a brand new, full-length album, Sapa Inca Delirium. And as the title suggests, Sapa Inca Delirium leans heavily on South American mysticism, not just musically, but in the visual imagery that the eleven-track album paints so well across its various tempos and rhythms. From the tropical burst of mood setting opener, "Go Back" to the steamy and pacey percussive flow of "Inhale/Exhale", which features regular collaborator Tanaya Harper on vocals, The Cyclist's fourth long-player is crammed full of intriguing atmospheres and soundscapes. "Antiexist", with its down-tempo rolling snare fills and ethereal Gregorian chanting segues effortlessly into "A Blind Girl Drinks Ayawaska", a suitably discordant and hallucinogenic skit that ensures the album flows into the more rhythmic cuts like "Skateboarding In The Jungle" and "Mirrors" (the second album cut to feature Harper on vocals). Even the traditional jazzier vibes of "When We All Break Down" featuring Joni are kept rugged and boisterous, with heavyweight bending bass, choppy breakbeats, and FX'd ambience amongst the smooth jazzy chords and sweet vocal delivery. Sapa Inca Delirium is one of those albums that will reward on repeat listen, such is the diversity of style on show here, and the detailed and wide-eyed curiosity offered up across the long player's fifty three minutes. Double LP comes in a full picture, spined jacket on reverse board; Includes download code.

London Modular Alliance returns to Hypercolour with the five-track Wolves EP. "Brockie Det" fires out the blocks with on point electro beats and melancholic pads, whilst "Militant" continues the theme with dusted drums and thick washes of bass for a real futuristic funk moment. The disassembled arrangement of "Advance & Proceed" gives off a cold and discordant atmosphere, but remains in groove and sonically tight, there's a distinct jazz flare in the mix also. "Tremors" hits hard and heavy, giving the Detroit electro cats a run for their money, whilst "Wolves" is a busy and inspired slab of British IDM.

Bristol based A Sagittariun present their second release for Hypercolour. In "Vanishing Point", big pumping beats and spiraling FX fall aside to a lone breakbeat that ushers in a special breakdown section. Child-like keys and deep synth stabs draw comparisons to retro '80s vibes (think Stranger Things). "The Pathway" keeps things on an all-together straighter tip; an incessant tribal loop weaves and filters around a thunderous kick and shuffling hats, ebbing-and-flowing in A Sagittariun's most club-centric production yet. Matrixxman delivers a superb remix, pushing the original down a long dark tunnel for a growling and reverberating techno overhaul.

Since releasing his last album on Hypercolour in February 2016, You Exist (HYPE 005LP), DMX Krew has not for one moment rested on laurels, releasing two further LPs on the Ekster and Abstract Form labels, as well as EPs and singles for Central Processing Unit, Shipwrec, Revoke, and more. Continuing to remain faithful to the roots of electro, IDM, and the deeper shades of techno, and without compromise, DMX Krew cranks out emotive and brain scrambling electronica at a mighty rate, and never disappoints. Strange Directions is album number 21 from DMX Krew, and lands once more on Hypercolour, the British label that continues to make heady waves in the music scene with genre shifting releases from the likes of Matthew Herbert, Luke Vibert, Gary Gritness, The Cyclist, Outboxx, and A Sagittariun since the release of You Exist. You'll know what kind of ride you are in for from the first few bars of album opener "Snowy Blue"; hypnotizing bass and spatial keys float over dusty micro breaks, produced with an infectious aesthetic that continues over the long player's fifty-five minute tenure. Experimental and expansive joints such as "Odd Chill" and "Strange Directions" sit comfortably alongside funkier techno jams such as "Thin Hype" and "Zero Sum", whilst the melancholic synth sensibilities of tracks like "Hip Hopeless" and "Axial Mode Beat" catches DMX Krew in fine form. Another fine set of highly polished and visionary electronic goodies from one of the scene's most dedicated and consistent players. Comes in a full picture, reverse board jacket; Includes download code.

J. Albert's debut EP for Hypercolour opens up with "Don't Hide It", a bumpin' and jazzy flavored house cut, resplendent with rolling snare drums and warm stabs, a sampled double bass riff and choppy vocal refrains. "Xtra Sauce" is another stellar house track. Fans of the Ron Trent/Prescription Chicago sound will instantly find an affection here with the rolling drums and soft keys, all pushed along at an energetic pace. "Vista" finds J. Albert in more playful mode, carving out a ten-minute jackin' underground house vibe that cuts raw and hypnotizing.

"Brand New Love", featuring the vocals of Zilla, finds Matthew Herbert creating a dense and dramatic bass heavy cut. A steppers beat, utilizing Herbert's trademark sampling techniques, it's a killer cut with sweeping cinematic qualities. Special Request, the jungle heavy arm of Paul Woolford, turns in an absolutely lethal version; choppy breaks, spinbacks and booming subs. "The Peacock", with its loose beats and opaque stabs, rolls along with its industrial undertones and rave-y motif, discordant at times but truly hypnotizing. "Cheekbone" is frenetic and charging micro tribal rave; a glorious medley of percussion, earworm synths, and guillotined vocal samples.

Gary Gritness lays down more devastating funk and classy riffing over his trusty Roland 606 on the second volume of his Sugar Cane Chronicles. "Steady Choosin'" gets downright fusion-jazz and Gritness fires out seductive melodies and Latin piano playing of the highest order, whilst "Countin' Up With Starr" delves into a darker well of synth mania, with a sexual groove reminiscent of Rick James. "Runner Joe's Revenge" ramps up the hysteria for a gritty and colossal production that typifies his love of cyberpunk soundtracks. The low-slung "Pool Shark Loot" carries all the signature Gritness sounds, with P-Funk sleaziness on top.

Hailing from London, London Modular Alliance are a trio of modular enthusiasts, often performing live, completely on the fly using modular synths and live improvisation. Members include Koova, Yes Effect, and Pip Williams, but on Home Grown EP, Pip Williams, AKA Phil Venture, strikes alone with four devastating cuts. The production aesthetics across the four cuts are second to none; "Civic Society" pairs up dark atmospherics and driving electro beats, whilst "Home Grown" is a pacey and bustling burner. More forward motion electro vibes are in evidence on "Lucid", and "Saunton" combines dense ambience, broken beats, and acidic bass.

Re-mastered and re-pressed, Axel Boman's classic EP Black Magic Boman, originally released 2013. "Television People" is built around minimal percussion, a rubbery synth line that echoes the best of Matthew Johnson's productions, and a distant spoken-word vocal delivery. "Cubic Mouth" goes deeper into the melodies with a distorted mallet riff over some supernatural drums and FX. "Look What You've Done To Me" continues with the graceful house sounds, layering and filtering ethereal piano samples and searing synths over a sparse percussive workout. "Klinsmann" wraps up with more highly infectious melodies and soft kicks, bouncing claps and ear-worm bassline.

Hypercolour round off 2016 with the heavyweight pairing of Mathew Jonson and Sebastian Mullaert. Two summers ago, with no distinctive aims or deadlines, Jonson was invited to come and work with Mullaert, staying for five days in the beautiful surroundings of one of Sweden's national parks. This inspired a creative process far-removed from urban life; freedom to jam, play around and most importantly, reconnect with nature. Pollen 4 Life was made on a day the mood took them in the direction of the dancefloor. The music embodies this fluid, evolving journey and a sense of losing yourself.

Concentric Rhythms is the new extended player from DJ Guy, the Cardiff born producer. Despite being heavily involved in the electronic music scene since the early '90s, he has only really begun to open up his vast archive of productions to the masses, notably with Unearthed Tracks 1992-1995 released in 2014. With releases to date on the likes of All Caps, NORD Records and Organic Analogue, he makes his Hypercolour debut with Concentric Rhythms. It is a record that clearly demonstrates his deep rooted interest in the realms of jungle, acid house and early UK techno. His productions are a compliment to his extensive and ambitious collection of varied influences that he so effortlessly practices and combines. With a colossal treasure trove of archived and unreleased music, DJ Guy has been able to dig deep into his collection of music for Concentric Rhythms, continuing to unlock this vault of timeless electronic music.

Bristol duo Outboxx return with their trademark low-slung house sounds, and another collaboration with vocalist and lyricist, Naomi Jeremy. Sealing the release is a remix from Detroit's Andrés. The original mix of "Rumours" opens with a slugged out beat, spaceship pads and the vocal prowess of Naomi Jeremy. The signature sound of remixer Andrés is stamped all over his version as he gently adjusts elements of the original, putting a greater focus on the scintillating pads and offering a beach-side alternative. "So Strong" provides a cool end to a coherent release, with well-poised keys combined with finely crafted ambient tones.

Repress of Slowly Turning by Peter Kremeier, AKA Losoul, released on Hypercolour in 2014. "Daddy, What's A Rise?" is classic Losoul; a heavy low slung groove never lets up, with micro disco stabs and distant vocal snippets, looping round and round for over ten minutes, but without ever standing still, the filtering and deft touches keep things moving at just the right funky pace. "Time & Space" is a glitchy and dubbed out affair, a solid 4/4 beat underpins a myriad of delayed percussion and panning synths, spatial effects and an incessant chord stab.

The Cyclist's Pressing Matters harks back to the golden age of breakbeat; bendy synths and pliable bass smack in the face of brain melting breaks. Robag Wruhme's remix of "Pressing Matters" masterfully flips from its breaks origins into a twisted four-to-the-floor belter, with grandiose touches and church-like organs. "Back In '92" evokes memories 24-hour pirate radio output and raving in fields with light piano riffs and melodious keys over the choppy drums. Featuring the vocal talents of Tanaya Harper, "Push" has intricate drum patterns and rolling snares jar against the ethereal vocal performance and brooding synths.

"Drum Vortex" rolls out a ricocheting drum workout with otherworldly voices and cosmic drones sitting in the middle of the mix. Markus Suckut's remix features dense beats, shuffling hats and micro bleeps weaving through vocal elements and sturdy percussive work. "Basma" focuses on the drum groove, with bright and springing claps bouncing off the hazy bottom ends and melodic touches.

With two releases under his belt on Clone, Gary Gritness aka Slikk Tim lands on Hypercolour with The Sugar Cane Chronicles Vol. 1. Hailing from France, Gritness had been spotted by Underground Resistance's "Mad" Mike Banks as "one to watch"; Here, a spot-on blend of raw drum programming and blissful jazz funk riffs, "Preachin' Some Tight Game" sets the EP's tone just right with its infectious melodies and cruising groove. Darker 1980s-soundtrack vibes are explored on "Stayin' Strong Hand" with its thick analog atmosphere, while the laid-back vibes of "Working Girls" demand to be played in the Cadillac with the top down.

Ed DMX aka DMX Krew, the visionary British electronic producer responsible for a slew of excellent releases for labels like Rephlex, Spectral Sound, and Permanent Vacation and his own Breakin' Records and Fresh Up Records since the mid-1990s, presents You Exist, his debut appearance on Hypercolour. Nine tracks of beautifully crafted, melodic electronic sounds. From the opener, "Spiritual Encounter," DMX sets the tone perfectly with oodles of pitch-perfect synth riffs and driving drums, working his way through snappy and bright pop moments like "Hard Copy" to darker, more melancholic cuts like "Computational Paradigm Shift." DMX breezes in and out of electro techno territory and more contemplative IDM vibes with ease. You Exist is a consistent, engaging work that captures a truly genuine musical form, produced and delivered with love from one of the scene's unsung heroes to please the ears of discerning listeners everywhere.

A collaboration between techno visionary Neil Landstrumm and fellow Scottish producer Hostage, Modini (Dixon Avenue Basement Jams) plunder the deeper shades of techno and electro music. "The Answer (Version)" touches on the classic side of electro, its infectious vocal hook rolling over incessant bleeps and chugging 4x4 beats like a pitched-down Relief Records cut for the modern age. Its "Original Mix" makes fine use of twisting, loose broken beats before "Impressive Pineapple" ratchets up the tempo with rolling beats, head-scrambling bleepwork, a hefty bassline, and choppy vocals. "Saluting Magpies" features more bassline-madness and drilling drums alongside imaginatively off-the-wall samples.
