"Iberian records comes out of a hibernation period with a series of Tax Haven EPs. This first EP comes from a group of producers located in the Barcelona bass enclave and who have been some of the main players in the monthly B.LOW events there. Dedicated to what the label describes as bass'n'groove, this EP contains three varied and original sounding tunes with different Bpms suited to the leftfield of various bass music fields (dubstep/funky/future garage etc). First up sees Mr. Gasparov's 'Transient Love' come in the guise of a house influenced little gem of a tune featuring Japanese vocalist G.Rina (who has previously worked with RSD and Nicolette) who coos and whispers about transient lovers. Next up sees Nehuen's 'Between Love and Hate,' which is a tense stripped down bass'n'beat workout with a persistent bass riff and schizoid strings bringing the darkness. Nehuen is an artist that usually getting support from Dusk + Blackdowns Rinse radio show. There is a grimy and ruff feel here not to dissimilar to some Soulja releases from back in the day. Tuff steppas gear. On the 45rpm flip side Relocate come with their trademark relentlessness sub bass boogie on 'Soul Survivor.'"

"Lisbon-based Octa Push are the newest recruits on the Iberian label and here they come up with the goods on this very distinctive international flavoured 3-tracker - following their debut vinyl release on Soul Jazz Records' Stepper's Delight 2 compilation. Having blown up the Red Bull Stage at this year's Sonar in Barcelona and wowed people at Fabric and the Glade Festival with their unique flow; which sees them combine the Portuguese and African sound spliced with elements of UK garage, dancehall and techno. Both 'Deixa' with Toni Clean, resident in Portugal and from the Cabo Verde Isles, and 'Baila Mundo,' with the legendary MC Zulu and his distinctive randomized dance hall cadence, show Octa Push as accomplished producers - having already remixed the likes of Buraka Som Sistema, Debruit, Mochipet and DJ Znobia, to name a few - and skilled at using original vocals over their bass line driving funky beats; whilst 'Dubshh' is a marvelous bustling and punchy instrumental rub perfectly illustrating their bass and groove style. All three tunes are sure players and seem destined to bring the Portuguese style to a growing fan base and providing Iberian with yet another non-UK produced bass continuum vibe."

"The new release from Lisbon/Barcelona based Iberian Records sees the second part of Relocate's Hard Boogie For Dub Swingers EP hit wax. First up are Lisbon's Kuduro warriors Buraka Som Sistema with a remix of Relocate's 'Dot Dot Dash.' Clever micro samples from the original rub are married to an absolutely slamming b-line to create a full on floor-filler full of original flava which very successfully merges UK bass to the Portuguese sound. On the flip we have 'Origins' from Relocate; which sees their unique stripped down sub-heavy bassline boogie to full effect. Relocate come up trumps once again with a full on roller of a track with trademark gliding bass dives and punchy stabs from a classic sidestepper Zed Bias sample and a very much house meets dubstep type of vibe. Both tunes are guaranteed to set the dance alight with their characteristic Iberian bass and groove flow. Support has come from the likes of Bunzero, Subsound, Markle, Blackdown, TRG, Ben UFO and Zed Bias."

"Iberian Records' second release sees Barcelona-based production project Relocate debut with the first part of their Hard Boogie For Dub Swingers EP. 'Too Moody To Swing' is a deep roller based around a driving sub-bass groove, cool FX and swinging beats -- bringing a house-y flavor while 'Dot Dot Dash' uses a more-techy sub-bass boogie with crunchy, swinging beats combined with a spoken-jazz voice and warping bass drops. Both tunes have been smashing the dancefloors and have gotten the support of N-Type, Surgeon, Rossi B and Luca, Rob Smith (RSD), Bunzero, Boomnoise, Komonazmuk, Markle, Ben UFO, Scuba, Rupture, Schatrax among others."
