IDEAL 029CD

It is now five proud years since Oliver Huntemann, together with his long-term business partner Jan Langer, founded Ideal Audio. To celebrate the occasion, the label is heading out on a worldwide tour, and is releasing a double CD compilation of brand-new exclusive material alongside the most memorable classics from the label's roster. Since 2008, the label has grown into one of the foremost techno outlets in the world, with a wide and deep fan base stretching all across the globe. Ideal Audio has also spawned countless label parties, fruitful collaborations, and many EP, LP, and mix compilation releases from plenty of exciting talents. "Here we are, five years richer in experience, and still as loud as ever," says Oliver on the anniversary. "Some new and promising acts in the form of Dubspeeka from Bristol, Remain & Electric Rescue from Paris, and Soel & Jonni Darkko from Rome have recently joined the ranks, breathing new life into Ideal. For me personally, it is still a great pleasure to work on and with electronic music and the crazy party circus every day. I look forward to the next five years!" And so to the 5ünf compilation: across two discs and 25 tracks it showcases the Ideal Audio style, which in the past has been described as "dark, hypnotic and powerful." The compilation spans the last five years -- with new and exclusive cuts on disc one, and classics on disc one -- and proves that Oliver and Jan have done a great job evolving the label while always staying true to their roots in exciting techno. A fine retrospective at the same time as being focused on the next five years, the 5ünf compilation proves Ideal Audio to be one of the most assured labels of our time. Other artists include: Joran van Pol, Extrawelt, Hatzler, André Winter, Andreas Henneberg, The Glitz, Sebrok & Tassilo, Dubfire, Marc Houle, Pan-Pot, Mihalis Safras, Sebastian Radlmeier, and Carlo Lio.

The Play! series is one that has charted the career of an electronic music pioneer, while providing a snapshot of the varying nuances of performing at some of the world's most revered venues and locations. Oliver Huntemann has now spread his wings further afield and brings a sunshine-influenced mix from Down Under for the fourth edition. Spread over 2CDs, Play! 04 is an accurate representation of the music Oliver is currently playing at his DJ gigs, and the selection reminds us why he has remained relevant for nearly two decades. Recorded live, the balanced mix relays the natural energy of the dancefloor, while also indicating that the listening experience is in the hands of an artist who has a clear vision. Drawing on a range of labels, from the most established techno disseminators in Minus/Plus 8 and Ovum, right through to those representative of newer sounds in Dirtybird and Rekids, the mix demonstrates and merges the nuances of the contemporary electronic scene. Naturally, there are a handful of productions from his own Ideal Audio imprint, and there are also tracks from Oliver's production partner André Winter, and upcoming French producers Remain & Electric Rescue. Noteworthy highlights include the Sebastian Radlmeier track on CD1, the massive Mathew Jonson remix of VCMG and the more left-field sounds of Claude von Stroke & Eats Everything. Following a natural break in the set, CD2 quickly picks up where CD1 left off. The punishing top-line of his own "Delirium" fits brilliantly with the melody of Matador's newest offering. Patrice Bäumel's "Chase" provides some killer drum breaks, before Radio Slave delivers a soulful, bouncy beat. The mix finishes with the euphoric offers of Huntemann's "The End" -- a fantastic way to end this journey. Other artists include: Simian Mobile Disco, Nick Harris, Namito & Argenis Britto, Nico Lahs, Maetrik, Tony Rohr, Hobo, Alexi Delano, Brian Sanhaji, Steve Parker, Uto Karem and Quince.

Berlin producer Sebrok makes his debut on IDEAL with an homage to one of his favorite cities. The Out In Miami EP sees the German matching dark electronic touches with fresh, organic, percussive sounds on both tracks. Not just an artist, Sebrok (alongside good friend Marc Miroir) is also the owner of Paso Music. Recent releases have seen Sebrok's Dangerous EP as well as his huge co-production with Tassillo.

Heavyweight producers Oliver Huntemann and Dubfire reveal the first piece from their Elements series. "Fuego" is Spanish for "fire," and it lives up to its name 100%. Be careful, because this track will make the dancefloors burn. With each subsequent play, you notice more and more melodies, beats, instruments... techno at its richest. Killer percussions come midway and build up the sound explosion. You are left with a sense of sweet anxiety and an adrenaline rush.

André Winter delivers his second exclusive Ideal Audio release, Dogma. It is dark, it is hypnotic, it is modern techno music. The original amazes with its number of sequences, which Mr. Winter twists and turns. Beats and rhythms clash one after the other, creating a mysterious and threatening, yet curious atmosphere. The B-side offers Pan-Pot's treatment of the track -- massive and somewhat housier, bringing exciting sound effects to the surface.

"Shanghai Spinner" is the second single from Oliver Huntemann's H-3 to receive special attention and to get dressed in sexy vinyl. This massive track will make you ecstatic and will spin you round and round. And if this is not enough, the B-side of the 12" is reserved for the legendary Joey Beltram, who gives us his side of the story. In case you haven't bought H-3 yet, you better hop to it, before it's too late.

The Glitz trio from Germany present their fresh and groovy "Last Panther," with remixes by Mihalis Safras and Erphun. This track is already in the boxes of Oliver Huntemann, Super Flu, Dubfire, Oxia, Stephan Bodzin and Sebastien Leger. A throbbing, minimal pounder with phased, percussive pulses and deconstructed, contrapuntal rhythms that will have you stalking geometrical patterns on the dancefloor.

Andreas Henneberg, known for being a member of The Glitz and for his excellent releases on Karate, Voltage Musique, Notorious Elektro and Areal, brings home the electro/techno bacon once again. The Federfarben EP comes up like a swarm of killer bees, driving the honeys right onto the dancefloor. Both tracks are overflowing with energy and great interference modulations. Beware of freaked-out dancers!
