"Ignitor debuts the Archives series, long lost and unreleased tracks that have stood the test of time, from the archives of Orlando Voorn. Originally released in 1993, Basic Bastard Volume 1 shows off Orlando's ability to switch up styles. Minimal Soul is a house funk track, featuring jackin' Todd Terry style drum beats and vocal samples with minimal keys and bassline. 'Moments in Measures' is a quirky techno piece, filled with analog squelches, electronic melody and militant drums. 'Take Me Away' rounds out the EP with a homage to the lush Detroit Techno that fuels Orlando's work; full strings and syncopated bass and percussion lay the bed before flutes and effects send this track soaring."

"The second release in Ignitor's Archives series takes us back to 1994. Basic Bastard Vol.3 is unrelenting in it's drive and melodic soundscapes. Bounce features rhythmic chords over a rolling bassline with driving drums and sparkling melody, an absolute monster for the dancefloor. 'Deep City', takes you there, into the gray area between melodic techno and house, a must for fans of Red Planet and Stacey Pullen's Cosmic Messenger work. 'Signals' features a growling hook of a bassline and eerie strings led by swinging hi-hats -- sinister techno reminiscent of Suburban Knight on Transmat."

Produced by Fix (Voorn), one side in collaboration with UR's MIA. Executive producer: Mad Mike. Vorrn is a Dutch techno producer with a long history of Detroit associations (collaborations with Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Black Baxter, releases on KMS, etc.). "Mixing a unique blend of phunked up beats, freeform jazz rhythms and his own interpretation on the ever changing frontiers of techno, Orlando doesn't limit himself to one style. He strives to imprint his own identity and influences to take the music one step further."
