Double LP version. Damon Wild and David Sumner's (aka Function) relationship dates back to 1991, at Lord Michael's Future Shock, Limelight, New York City, when Damon was running EXperimental Records via Northcott Productions. At the time, he first saw something in Dave and added him to Brand X, a record pool run by Moneypenny. But their bond is based around a period five years later when Dave had an apartment above Rogue Music at 251 West 30th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. It was during this time Damon developed him as a Synewave artist and released his first EP as Function in the fall of 1996 -- catalog number: SW-24. Falling in and out of touch over the years, across continents, the two have somehow remained on the same cosmic path. So it's not a coincidence that now Damon has turned to Dave to release his first album in 13 years, during the time he is reissuing that first Synewave EP (1996) on Recompiled I/II (ATON 002LP) and II/II (ATON 003LP). This is where those paths cross again... 21 years later, Dave releases Cosmic Path on Infrastructure New York.

From a sporadic late-nineties outlet for the work of label founder David Sumner aka Function and his contemporaries, Infrastructure has re-emerged in the last two years as a busy and consistent platform for modern electronic music. Re-launching with a collaboration between Sumner and long-time colleague Ed Davenport aka Inland. In the two years following, the pair have orchestrated 10 vinyl releases, including a debut album by Techno anonym Post Scriptum, two singles from young avant-garde composer Campbell Irvine, a double pack reissue of classic acid pioneer-tracks from Mark Archer's Trackman guise, a crossover single by Cassegrain & Tin Man, and more. Both Post Scriptum and Campbell Irvine released their debut material on Infrastructure; discovering and promoting new raw talent is high on their agenda. Now Infrastructure introduces its next milestone, Infrastructure Facticity, a compilation featuring 15 tracks by key artists, label colleagues and new faces. Infrastructure Facticity represents the foundations of what Infrastructure stands for - a manifesto for 2016 and beyond. Function, Inland, Function/Inland, Campbell Irvine, Post Scriptum, Cassegrain & Tin Man, Rrose, Efdemin, Vatican Shadow, Silent Servant, Blue Hour, Steve Bicknell and Cleric all featured, spinning a narrative ranging from lush, ambient electronics and post-club diversions, to contemporary club techno and back again. Infrastructure regularly works with up-and-coming artists on cover artwork. Respected young Swiss artist Julian Charrière provided the iconic greyscale cover for Post Scriptum's debut album, and London based photographer Guy Archard's work featured on Campbell Irvine's Reunion of Two Bodies Maxi. Now the celebrated British fine-artist Robert NcNally has been invited to submit original artwork for Infrastructure Facticity. Selected by Jake and Dinos Chapman to show work at the prestigious Flowers Gallery in London, and commissioned by Damien Hurst to provide work for his private collection, Robert's incredibly detailed large scale pencil drawings are attracting serious interest in the modern art world. McNally's cover image was selected from a series of works based on adapted antique post cards. Its anti-establishment, censorship-related overtones are clear to see, as is the stark use of contrast - thick layers obscure the fading original, re-appropriating it.

Reissue of the classic Trackman EP by Mark Archer (Altern 8), remastered from the original 1995 tapes. "I was asked by my good friend Neil Macey... if I could do a few tracks for the first release on his new label -- Ideal Trax... when he said he was after something with techno, Chicago house, and acid all mixed up, Trackman was born" --Archer, July 2015. The EP spans trippy, classic acid cuts; Detroit and Chicago influences; Sheffield bleep; and Manchester Haçienda-rave-era overtones. This reissue includes bonus track "Paradise," another classic originally released on the 1996 Don't Stop EP.

Post Scriptum stands for rich, highly detailed modern techno electronics. References to Mills-School bleep and unearthly, sci-fi tones are clear to hear. The album features original photographs by Swiss mixed-media artist Julian Charrière, taken on-site at a former Soviet nuclear testing ground. The negatives were first exposed through the camera, and then laid on the radioactive earth where interference occurred, resulting in the highly textured end images. Parallels to the process can be drawn throughout Post Scriptum 01, where classic techno sound sources are clear to hear, alongside complex processing and a very original approach to arrangement that flavors and colors each track. With titles like "Interstellar Medium," "Decelerate At the Destination," or "The Extreme Distance," clear space-time themes emerge, evoking imagery of the ongoing human quest for survival, on this world, and eventually others.

Post Scriptum 01 is the debut full-length album from anonymous producer Post Scriptum. This stunning full-length thoroughly outlines the sonic intentions of the project over 11 otherworldly tracks, and follows Post Scriptum's debut track, "Human Timescales," featured on Berghain 07 Part I (OSTGUT 086EP, 2015). Berghain 07 is an installment in the series of DJ mixes by the Berlin club's residents, mixed by Infrastructure founder Function. Accompanying the mix are two 12''s (Berghain 07 Part I and Part II (OSTGUT 087EP)), which feature Post Scriptum's "Human Timescales" alongside tracks from Cassegrain & Tin Man, Inland, DVS1, Steve Bicknell, Blue Hour, and Luke Slater's L.B. Dub Corp alias. The in-depth A&R process that Function went through for the Berghain 07 project led to the development of this album, which follows Post Scriptum's live debut at Berghain in May 2015. Infrastructure presents VEX/DMO, three tracks from two of David Sumner's lesser-known alter egos. Produced between '98 and '99, the tracks were originally released separately on two different 12"s, and now come together, remastered. "VEX-1" is Sumner's rightful slice of historic Brooklyn house pie. The DMO sessions were a nod to the more spaced-out, string-laden deep house that resonated out of Chicago towards New York. Both "Fifteen" and "Movement" offer a rare chance to hear another side of the producer now known best as Function. The original pressing was also one of legendary East Village record store Dancetrax's biggest selling 12"s of that era.

The classically-trained violinist, who until recently had little background or experience in electronic music, has put together a deeply ritualistic study in textural, layered compositions inspired by Middle Eastern traditions and rhythms. Long-time colleagues David Sumner (aka Function) and Ed Davenport (aka Inland) have teamed up to relaunch Sumner's esteemed imprint, Infrastructure. The label has been lying dormant since 2006, when Sumner focused his energies on Sandwell District. They kick things off with a collaboration under the guise Function/Inland with this new EP. "Odeon" translates a soaring synth solo into an 8-minute percussion-driven version. Modulating toms rise and fall as the strings climb to new heights. On "Rhyl," deeply influenced by the heady days of early Warp, Skam, Autechre and pure electronica, they add a contemporary, hi-tech twist and hints of Sandwell's emotive textures.
