Ruutu Poiss returns to International Major Label with two evolutionary, spacetime bending dance floor hitters. The Estonian sound artist revisits the psychedelic approach used for his first 7" release on the label (Halli/Uttu, 2016), expanding his refined palette with the use of modular synthesizers. Pull/Push holds extraterrestrial, contemporary techno music. Off-kilter, but very effective. These two powerful gems could easily be described as "heavy" or "weighty", but that seems very unfitting here. Where "Pull" immediately entraps us in a soaring vortex, "Push" takes a long intro to launch us hard into a compelling stratosphere.

The best thing about trends is often their counter-movement. In times of digital hysteria, the contradiction lies unsurprisingly in deceleration, in turning away from algorithms. The search for the diffusely concrete, a kind of musical memory from the infinite ocean of sounds and acoustic figures, is at the center of a dark glowing cloud called Mantra Mantra. Between techno and Toto, drop shadows and ethereal patterns, Sam Irl and Daniel Helmer simmer their hypnotic sounds. The music whispers with every note; the product of two interconnected home studios, quietly eloquent through the night as an anti-hysterical mantra to all the recipients of this universe. All tracks produced and mixed by Mantra Mantra. Mastered at IML Headquarters, Vienna. Artwork by David Stöger.

Midnight Embassy is a pingpong project by songwriter Angela Aux and producer Sam Irl. During nightly sessions and on walks together, the two have created a palette of timeless tracks and futuristic sculptures from pop music flotsam. Like if two archive junkies had synchronized their sketch collections and notebooks so that the different genres and decades seem to effortlessly swirl through each other: dub, folk, Beatnik literature, afrobeat, and electronica. Aux & Irl celebrate a gentle escapism, both cosmopolitan and aloof. This island mentality sparkles unobtrusively through all five tracks of this debut EP.

The music of Giuseppe Leonardi moves through the brain in psychedelic and playful ways. Young Giuseppe prepared his shamanic amalgamation of percussion, atmospheres, and synth patterns some summers ago in the catacombs of Vienna. Machine sounds from a glittering future. He shifts his instruments out of the time zone and takes you on a trip in his cozy dinghy. Tracks like "Maga" and "Invitro" are moving the dancefloor towards a cosmic universe in such a charming way that dancers won't realize their transformation. 45RPM.

After 2016's widely appreciated 12", the Estonian musician/producer Ruutu Poiss returns to his minimal funk and leftfield synth-pop roots releasing a debut EP on International Major Label. The six selected home recordings, from 2011-2016, reflect almost a chronological and kaleidoscopic journey through the authors musical explorations, instrumental storytelling, and unique sound design. From subtle vocals to vicious toms; celestial soundscapes over restless rubbery bass; shimmering synths over polyrhythmic structures -- an environment of romantic futurism and organic transformation appears, surrounded by a warm psychedelic sound palette.

Label head Daniel Meuzard, aka Feater, and two of the top notch remixers around -- Tuff City Kids with Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer. After 30 seconds, when the bass line rocks through the kicks and congas, the "Bright White Shoes" remix unfolds a magical attraction as if from another galaxy. Guiseppe Leonardi rumbles through the catacombs between slow-tech and calimba on his remix of "Digital Love". Ruutu Poiss from Estonia conjures up a mysterious and playful odyssey with Feater's "Birds" and meanders between Düsseldorf, London, and Detroit.

Daniel Meuzard, aka Feater, originally hails from a small mountain village in the Western Austrian Alps. The music producer with North African roots has called Vienna his home for quite some time now. For more than ten years, he has been involved in electronic music and working with analog synthesizers and classic tape recording. As an owner of a studio equipment shop, he was able to get his hands on a wide variety of equipment. Experimenting with different instruments and recording techniques helped him to develop his own musical ideas. In 2013, he released the 7" vinyl single Digital Love on Paradeis Garage. In February 2015, he recorded his debut album Waste The Time on a 8-track tape recorder and finalized it together with the producer and recording engineer Sam Irl in the summer of 2015. As a member of the Finish-German-Austrian group Skymax (along with Stiletti-Ana and Sam Irl), he released the self-titled EP vinyl on his own label called International Major Label in October 2015.
