The album is a tribute to traditional Jamaican music from the early days: modern produced, heavyweight roots -- reggae meets Jahcoustix' signature vocals. Frequency is an authentic record with unique features. Jahcoustix's youth was a nomad's life, spending years in Mexico, Liberia, New York, Kenya, and Egypt. He discovered music in Kenya where he began writing his first songs. After returning to Germany at the age of 20, Jahcoustix fully dedicated his life to music and ever since has been on a journey that has taken him and his songs halfway around the world. Jahcoustix has released five studio albums and played 1,000 live concerts over the last decade. His musical diversity, his steady development, as well as the recognition he receives for his work are all signs of moving towards a bright future. On Frequency, Jahcoustix provides his fans with uncompromising roots reggae. The idea and approach to this album is different from all the previous records. Instead of recording the album with his band, Jahcoustix teamed up with Irievibrations Records and also worked with some other producers to get a more diversified sound. For his 10th anniversary year of 2013, Jahcoustix will be out there to reach out to the world with his new songs and a strong lyrical message. Referring to the question about the featured track with Apple Gabriel, former singer of the legendary reggae band Israel Vibration, Jahcoustix answered: "I wanted to make a pure roots reggae record with a focus on collaborations with some of my favorite singers of the past 30 years of reggae music. Making this album was my dream and a truly heartical matter."

Without a doubt, Jamaica's Anthony B is one of the biggest reggae stars on the planet, and Irievibrations from Vienna, Austria releases the newest masterpiece from the well-respected Singjay called Freedom Fighter. The beginnings of Anthony B, born Keith Anthony Blair, started in the church choir of Clarks Town, a small parish on the north coast of Jamaica. Affected and driven by musical role models like Otis Redding and Peter Tosh, the 16 year-old Keith left his hometown in 1992 to work on his singing career in Kingston, Jamaica. Arriving in the capital, he was soon discovered by the producer Richard "Bell" Bello of Star Trail Records, under whose direction Anthony B's first hits like "Fire Pon Rome," "Rumour" and "Raid Di Barn" were born. Seventeen albums, hundreds of hits and countless sold-out live shows around the globe are the proof that Anthony B is one of the leading performers in reggae music and beyond its boundaries. He has also collaborated with international stars such as Akon, Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg and R. Kelly. Freedom Fighter features a wide thematic range, backed by powerful, live-recorded riddims. Anthony B remembers his roots, doesn't follow any hype, and sticks to pure roots reggae music. However, there are also other highlights on the album, which show his openness to different styles such as R'n'B and dancehall. Freedom Fighter certainly more than measures up to his previous classics such as Universal Struggle (1997) or Street Knowledge (2003).

This is the first international album for established German roots artist Martin Zobel, produced and presented by the legendary George "Fully" Fullwood, the leader of The Soul Syndicate. Early in 2011, Fully Fullwood, the Jamaican roots-reggae legend, became aware of Martin Zobel's music. Founder and leader of the crucial Jamaican reggae band, The Soul Syndicate, Fullwood was jointly responsible for several hits reggae superstar Bob Marley recorded during the sessions with Lee "Scratch" Perry, and as a bass player, he was a vital part of Peter Tosh's Word, Sound & Power band. Furthermore, his bass lines can be heard on countless other legendary recordings, including those of Dennis Brown, Derrick Morgan, Max Romeo, Michael Rose, Keith Hudson, and Big Youth, to name a few. It is by no means exaggerated to say he's one of the most important musicians since the very beginning of the genre until the present day. Over the years, George "Fully" Fullwood has become more and more involved in producing. When Martin Zobel and Fully Fullwood met in person in February 2011, the chemistry between them seemed to be right, and it was agreed that Fullwood would produce Zobel's new album. Zobel significantly reduced his live appearances to focus on writing new songs, and only six months after that first meeting, Fully and Frances (Fully's wife) were welcoming Martin and his whole band into Fully's Kitchen, their Southern California studio, to begin the recordings. Martin Zobel & Soulrise spent an entire month in the Kitchen, cooking up their new songs, and for the sake of authenticity, performed and recorded everything live -- just like back in the days. The result is a wonderful musical snapshot in time which, in every detail, reveals the spirit that must have been present during those early studio sessions back in Kingston, Jamaica. Beyond that, one is reminded of a sound, the likes of which hasn't been heard for a long time, a sound containing something so familiar, yet different, something new and refreshing.

"The Messenjah" aka Luciano aka Jepther McClymont presents an album exclusively produced by Irievibrations Records -- a strong statement by Luciano for the love of roots reggae, a counterbalance overtaking the digital dancehall/hip-hop productions which have supposedly led to the loss of Jamaican roots in the music business. The rhythm tracks on Rub-A-Dub Market -- acoustic, hand-made and recorded live in the studio -- are perfectly suited for Luciano's moving and touching messages. The musical spectrum of Rub-A-Dub Market varies from roots reggae to dub to Nyahbinghi riddims. Even in respect to musical boundaries "The Messenjah" doesn't set limits, managing to cope with different music styles in his very special and inimitable manner. In a recent quote Luciano proclaims: "I came out of roots and culture as a reggae singer and have proven to people that I can fit into any genre of music ... I sing reggae, gospel and roots. I will sing rock too, but always keep my message clean, spiritual and cultural. There are no barriers in music -- although I am well known as a reggae culture singer, I have an international message. So I cannot leave it just to reggae people. I have to extend it to people of all walks of life." The title song "Rub-A-Dub Market" is one of the most outstanding statements these days and is thereby the album title. The song is a rational appeal to the reggae/dancehall business and targets the current state of the industry, with its fast-moving digital production. Due to these conditions, Luciano makes a sustainable statement for roots reggae music in general.

Perfect, born Greg Rose, grew up in the cool hills of Bamboo in the parish of St. Ann, where he was constantly exposed to the rhythms of Jamaica because his father owned several jukeboxes. Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Toots Hibbert have been his early favorites from these days on. The musical career started at primary school where he sang on a regular basis, and continued to perform throughout his school life. After graduation he had a regular job, and additionally DJ-ed for Trendsetter Sound in his spare time. He also gained first-hand knowledge and experience of the music business while fine-tuning his musical skills at studios like Penthouse, King Jammys and Arrows. Born Dead With Life is a concept album combining exclusive and entirely new rhythms and tunes with very personal and profound lyrics concerning black history, self-awareness and the sufferings of the black nation. This album was exclusively produced by Irievibrations Records and features their trademark sound as known from Riddim selections like "Lovebird," "Caribbean," "Hit Drop" and "Work Off."
