Marco Gomes is coming with a much personal and intimate album named Week, as much as a real research on sounds and textures. It's a day-to-day travel in which each element of the week, each day, with its particular soundscape, is part of an ensemble that expresses the complexity of emotions and the difficulties to catch the real life in its crudeness. This album is kind of melancholic, it's hard to deny it, but it's not expressed in a naive or depressed language. Some dark sounds, industrial, are always balanced with melodic or harmonic elements. Rhythms change along the pieces, the idea remains, in this kind of sharp and sweet poetry, in a kind of spiritual romanticism. This quest of sound of structures is an existential investigation on the modern life through the prism of ruled time oppression versus sublimation of the machines.

"Karat welcome Le Chien Perdu (The Lost Dog) for their first release on the label. These two guys from the Netherlands are coming with a massive release to tear the clubs down. It starts with 'Handsome Interruption,' a nice funky and rollin' track, 200% dance music, a real breath of fresh air. Then 'The Cause of the Tangerines' goes deeper into the heart of the new Dutch sub-bass environment (!), a place in which we want to get lost! This is a crazy brilliant stomper, fine and so energizing. The Wasteland Journey is in a more introspective way, going straight at the beginning, then bringing some aero-emotional elements to sound out what's in your soul, dude! Ark is ending this EP with his 'SP'Ark Remix' a deep and functional tune, well-inspired and nicely-arranged, a great Ark track."

"This is the second launch for Dolibox on Karat records after his great debut EP Shoes Off. He's coming now with a more functional thing to delight your ears. It starts with 'Andy Veston,' a massive floorfiller with funny and evolutive vocal elements. Then 'Herbie April' and 'Long Approach', two tracks in a 'classic' Dolibox vein. We mean 'soulful abstract dance music', deep and funky. 'Politik Cowboy' is also a fine track, with deep synth melodic elements and sweet voices carried by a solid and large beat. These four tracks can be played on the floor but they also fit for home listening; Dolibox proves that he's a real good and inspired producer. He's gonna release an album during the next year."

"Once again a great release on Karat. This time Philippe Cam is coming strong with massive tunes. We know this guy for his first releases on Traum records a few years ago; he reached at this time the point where electronic music can be groovy without a bass drum. Last year he released an EP on Musique Risquée, a bit more functional; now he joins Karat and delivers a great EP with an astonishing quality of production. The first track is a house tune, quite stompin', with a nice guitar riff and great atmospheric effects. The track goes crazy when it comes to the half, introducing wild synth notes. Some real vibe! The second track is a beatless tune in a particular Cam's way, something laid-back but still intense, a real melodic thing, between dub, electronica and house! Then it goes with 'Bass Star,' a real strong techno burner, which can be compared to Brinkmann's 'Tanks A Lot' stuff, even harder and more fine; the sounds combine perfectly, the structure is great. Techno music at its best!"

"They are back! After their wrongly underestimated first EP on Karat last spring, Les Cerveaux Lents (slow brain) are coming again with a massive release, including one remix from The Freaks, the well known band from London. 'Tribute to Chicago' and 'Le Manège Hantée' (haunted carousel) are amazing tracks in which you can find the synthesis of these guys' influences and skills, something large! The remix from The Freaks (Luke Solomon & Justin Harris) has a kind of magic, really deep atmosphere and this particular 'Freaks groove.' Enjoy!"

"You have in your hands the Katapult Vol. 3 first sampler. If you didn't notice the CD release, it's not too late because we have decided to release on vinyl the most functional tracks. This record contains: On A1., The Mole creates a smooth but firm deep house track, with a nice soul vocal and a heavy bassline. On A2., Les Cerveaux lends 'In The Crack.' Ark and Mikael Weill deliver a punchy house track, creatively constructed on rhythms and samples; something to dance to! On B1, our minimal-funk wonder boy Cabanne signs once again a straight 4X4 bass house track. You need to listen to it loud to catch the finesse of his music. On B2, Antislash represents the new French generation of house musicians. Those three young boys give us a deep but bassy track, with nice sounds of structure."

"Karat perseveres in launching new artists. Once again we're proposing to you an artist's first record, today it's Davem. It's a young Italian musician of many influences; he's delivering us a motley record, easily cruising from direct and functional house to some kind of more moody and deep electro. We can compare this record as something between BPitch Control and Musique Risquée, something where the groovy stuff (B1 & B2) meets some more intimate feelings (A1 & A2) .These four tracks will already lead you to the personality of this artist, who knows the sound tradition and codes but brings something personal and original. A record to dance to, but also to listen to -- something with a soul; something like a Karat record."

"It seems that it's time for real electro break music on Karat. As seen on SCSI-AV or Sounds Around, Automat's music is like a ship that explores the depth of your soul. Don't fear the darkness, just taste the analog quality sound, Automat will just give you keys to figure out what's going on in your conscience."

"A solo artist 4 tracker from Karat's new signature Mikaël Weill. Fond of labels like Perlon, Klang or Kompakt, this EP reflects both his strong attachment for US house and German electro & minimal sounds. He will soon inaugurate a residency at the Deep Club of Berlin with guests like Krikor, Cabanne, Sety or Automat."

"Karat is pleased to introduce you to its first compilation. More than a simple showcase of its roster or a defined product on such music, it's a collection of tracks exclusively recorded for this project. We offered to the artists, some who already had released tracks on our label such as Ark, Krikor, Chloé or Cabanne, and some others that we like, to produce something for us without giving them any artistic direction. The result is rather amazing because despite the different styles of the tracks, there actually is a real coherence. We can explain that by the fact that they have something very deep in common, that is the ability to get away the musical genres and thus to look ahead of the pack and to express their full personality in their music. We think that these artists as a whole entity, blow some fresh air on the Parisian and French scenes and announce a bright future. Now you can listen to this compilation and enjoy it whether you're in a party or relaxing mood , in a happy or sad one. Come into the new Karat's sensation." Artists: Ark, Kean, Aysam, Chloe, Krikor, Cabanne, Sety, Feadz, Automat, Blackstrobe, Mikael Weill, Noze.
