Originally cast as a supergroup, Cactus was the brainchild of Long Island boys Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice, two ferociously talented players who had cut their musical teeth in the pioneering heavy psychedelic group Vanilla Fudge with Atlantic in the late '60s. In January 1971, the band performed before a small invited audience in Ultrasonic Studios in their native Long Island and plunged into their past three albums to deliver a blitzkrieg that declared their affection for boogie with an electrifying demeanor. This performance also signaled the closure of a chapter in the Cactus story, with guitarist Jim McCarty and vocalist Rusty Day leaving shortly after, before the remaining band recorded their 1972 fourth album, 'Ot 'N' Sweaty. Captured here is a unique facet of heavy blues rock with the entire WLIR-FM broadcast of this set, digitally remastered, exposing a robust powerhouse performance from a profoundly underrated band. Includes background liner notes.

Johnny Winter, live at Woodstock Revival, 10 Year Anniversary Festival 1979 on September 8th, 1979. There have been several high profile anniversary reunions for Woodstock 10, 25 and 30 years after this iconic event first took place, but one of the most interesting occurred when many of the original musicians converged on Long Island's Parr Meadows in Brookhaven, New York to celebrate the tenth anniversary. Unlike later events, this was a true reunion for many of the musicians who played the 1969 festival. Johnny Winter was undoubtedly one of the main attractions and festival high points and the combination of Winter with Bobby Torello and Jon Paris makes for immense impact both on the ears and the memory banks. Klondike proudly presents the entire original WBAB-FM broadcast of Johnny Winter live from Woodstock Reunion 1979, at Parr Meadows, Brookhaven, New York on Saturday 8th September 1979. Professionally remastered original broadcast with background liners and rare archival photos.

Randy Newman's rich and diverse repertoire of songs have reached a wide variety of people through other artists, though listeners didn't always know it. His songs have crossed the divides of pop music, from Eric Burdon to Judy Collins to Fats Domino, which simply illustrates his measure of lyrical wit and intelligent, provocative songwriting. This stunning performance at The Boarding House in San Francisco, on June 11th, 1972, hides nothing from the ears and affords the listener a unique insight into the soul of one of America's greatest songwriting legends. Recorded during the promotional tour for his third studio album, Sail Away (1972), this prized performance finds him at the relative dawn of his career. Although it didn't break massively in a commercial sense, Sail Away was a huge critical success, a fact that makes his solo appearances from this period so inviting. The entire original broadcast is presented here, professionally re-mastered with background liners and rare archival photos.

The Texan blues giant Albert Collins enjoys far greater divinity in modern times than he was ever afforded before, especially at the point in his career when he provided a stunning set at Joe's Place in Cambridge, MA in 1973. Joe's Place offered a smaller and more intimate setting for Collins, who performs a selection of his repertoire including "Backstroke," "Frosty" and "Thaw Out," three gems from his 1965 debut The Cool Sounds of Albert Collins. Collins applied his unique and revered style with piercing solos and unlikely improvisations that echoed his aforementioned debut from 1965, an icebreaker album that would help establish Collins as the guitar pioneer he is painted as today. Albert Collins was eventually acknowledged as one of the most talented and distinctive blues guitarists of his era. With unconventional tunings, savage interludes and a scorching delivery, he would earn recognition with his unique brand of blues. A true homage to the phenomenal blues legend is represented in this beautifully packaged edition, boasting the original, re-mastered FM broadcast in its entirety, further celebrating the unique, improvisational depth of a true blues giant. Background liner notes included.

1975 was a bold and exciting time for Emmylou Harris, whose career itself was burgeoning with the release of her second album, Pieces of the Sky, released five years after her 1970 debut, Gliding Bird, on Jubilee. A revised energy with Reprise would inspire a third album, Elite Hotel, recorded in June of 1975 and released in December of that year. Her appearance at The Amazing Grace Coffee House on May 15, 1975, consists of material drawn from her two 1975 albums. From the very beginning, Harris set high standards for herself, as well as the musicians she would work with. Her integrity and artistic ability led her to transcend the country-rock genre, becoming universally respected by fellow artists and music fans alike. Her Amazing Grace Coffee House appearance in May 1975 captures Harris at her peak. Many of the most enduring songs from both of her 1975 albums were featured in her sets from this time. Her interpretations of highly recognizable country standards, such as Buck Owens's "Together Again," Hank Williams's "Jambalaya," and Merle Haggard's "Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down" all compare favorably with the originals, proving that Harris was quite capable of taking a classic and making it her own. The complete WXRT-FM broadcast of Emmylou Harris's May 1975 performance at The Amazing Grace Coffee House, Evanston, IL is presented here. Digitally remastered sound with background liners and rare photos.

Iggy Pop, live at Chicago's Caberet Metro on 12th July 1988. Iggy Pop was no stranger to Chicago's Cabaret Metro in the 1980s, a rock and roll fixture with decades of smoke and sweat to show for its décor. The adrenaline is laid on thick and fast when Iggy walks out to greet the Metro crowd as Hanoi Rocks's Andy McCoy rips into the slicing, dumb metal of the title-track from Iggy's latest return-to-form album Instinct (1988). Iggy's plugged in for another power surge and the pace is set as the acrobatics nearly bring the ceiling down. "We're gonna rock it to ya straight -- no bullshit... Music should never be too good, too tight. It should excite you. The Stooges's music is supposed to make me feel good. And I've always had faith that if I feel good, others will." This is the complete original WXRT-FM broadcast of Iggy Pop's explosive performance at Chicago's Cabaret Metro on July 12, 1988.
