Million Brazilians formed in Portland, Oregon in 2006. Founding members Grant Corum and Suzanne Stone have been central to the band since its inception, while a rotating line-up backs them depending on the latest vision for the sound. The band carry out their own interpretation of a genre bending ethos that has evolved throughout the American underground. Drifting between boundless compositions, focused energetic improvisations and experimental collaborations that embrace a weird sort of transcendence. Their next installment Red Rose And Obsidian was recorded in Maine and engineered by Big Blood's Caleb Mulkerin. Both he and the band deliver a powerful yet fragile and personal release. The mythical and evocative recordings are inspired by Maine's rugged coastlines; mournful ripples of sound wash up on the shore, whilst a lonesome, at times harrowing saxophone drifts through the rolling mountains, providing unsettling melodic interludes. Electronic treatments veil organic sounds, a fleeting whistle meets spontaneously with spacey flutes, mutated rock rhythms are topped off with the soaring vocals of Suzanne Stone who leads the listeners into the magical world of the Million Brazilians.

Debut vinyl release for this curious Japanese producer combining electronics with subtle field recordings across a gorgeous set of arrangements. A maiden voyage too for the Lullabies For Insomniacs label. Sugai Ken is an electronic musician based in Kanagawa, Japan. Using synthesis and recordings of his daily surroundings, he conjures the subtle and profound ambience of the Japanese nightscape. His music evokes a nocturnal peace that reflects the intangible qualities of his memory and dreams. 鯰上 - On The Quakefish is an immersive exploration displaying a rugged invention, compressed into short bursts of electrifying genius. The release represents a romantic desire for dispersion into nature. Earthy as well as ethereal in his appreciation for figurative beauty, Sugai Ken summons the Zen tradition of Satori. He invites one to listen with a sense of intimacy and introspection, reflecting on the extremes of subtlety.

Baltimore's PJ Dorsey has traversed a lifelong journey delving into psychoactive music which can alter one's cognitive and conscious state. He harnesses his experiences to create music as Tarotplane. Using guitar, effects, and processing, he produces time suspending soundscapes -- immersive music for merging the mind and body. 358 Oblique is the follow-up to First which was released on Aguirre Records in 2015 (ZORN 041LP). Find yourself adrift in the lapping waters of a slow unraveling sea of sound, a spectral vortex of shimmering tones and discrete samples guide the listener into an aural abyss, while plangent six-string melodies offer glimpses into a sanctifying sensory space. The two explorations provide an evocative journey through a psychedelic continuum and beyond. Track titles courtesy of Edward Ka-Spel (Legendary Pink Dots). Recorded between 2014-2017. Assembled at Grey Ark Studios/Wrightway Studios, Baltimore; Additional production on "A Polaroid Sunset" by Rob Girardi; Keyboard/sound processing on "A Polaroid Sunset" by Jack Moore; Audio consultant: Jack Moore.
