"With over 13 releases on some of electronic music's most celebrated and innovative labels such as BPitch, Ghostly and Shitkatapult and most recently Downwards, as well as his own critically acclaimed Detroit Underground Records, Kero (born Sohail Azad) has established a reputation for his unrepentant, brash, yet cultivated compositions and unforgettable live performances, most recently, alongside notables such as Speedy J, Ken Ishii and Funkstorung. Furthermore, he has established himself as a leader within the growing pack of electronic music producers successfully infiltrating contemporary art circles worldwide. Kero's approach to music, graphic design and video feeds on the detritus of popular culture, creating a montage of fleeting musical and visual experiences that are both critical of and enamoured with contemporary culture. Kero conducts visual and aural investigations, inspired by alien sonic landscapes -- his complex sequencing may well be the only rational response to such challenges. There's a feint in the sound, where raw digital mayhem confronts hip-hop, the rave experience amid the most rarefied of techno experiments. T34g adopts a banging bashment bassline, but the result could only really hail from Windsor, Detroit."

"Praveen's sound is deftly poised and amply full. The opener 'Sad Sad Day' is filled with melancholy, and yet an overriding sense of expectation emerges as the presiding feeling. Music in this zone takes its time -- 'Float' could almost be a credo for this, settling down next to a fire with an approach that will be familiar to all lovers of Kompakt's Pop Ambient series. Its almost impolite when programmed bass and drums intrude on the sound settling like ash, but they learn to get along somehow. 'Haze' relishes one of the more addictive melody lines of recent times, and 'Melody' brings Praveen's main preoccupation centre stage -- again expect nothing hurried, this is sedate, carefully unfolding music. Co-opting apparently dissonant frequencies into a coherent whole is the strategy on 'Real Memories', while 'New Lovers' blooms into a soft utterance, a strummed guitar echoing the optimism of the title. 'Please Begin' shows that darker textures can function next to the pillowy ambient from Praveen, perfectly balanced by the delicate sound of a drumstick on cymbal. 'Piano in a Hurricane' ends a distinctive debut with not a whimper, but rather a gentle caress."

"Zegunder are Alosha Tsinovoi and Gil Cohen. Both live and create music in the northern Israeli city of Haifa, where the picturesque Carmel mountains meet the Mediterranean sea on one side of the bay. Zegunder's new album challenges a dreadful local situation in which people usually become hateful or 'comfortably' numb, (both unimaginable) as the only humanly possible way of dealing with an impossible reality with no real solution at hand. none of those two paths seemed a worthy way to live ... after rich experiences in the ranks of local post rock bands like 'MuTe' and 'Birdy', 'telling it like it is' didn't feel right any more to Gil and Alosha, just too plain and straightforward for the ambivalent nature of existence in Israel. After a period of small solo projects and recording for film soundtracks, the feeling that something must be said grew stronger. this album describes what's left to be said when empty cynical promises, a monotonous routine that on a regular basis makes your skin crawl, have drained all substance from the once familiar words ...and a decadent silence becomes the only real thing around...Zegunder started as a route to finding some safe haven and continued under the sparkling glimpse of hope from our loved ones eyes. Beautiful vocal accompaniments come from Daphne Haller -- more like another instrument than something associated with words, and the slowly, unfolding mainly instrumental beauty on show here, will spook Angelo Badalamenti junkies. Zegunder have found a way into our hearts, and hopefully will find their way into yours."

"Pandatone hails from New York. One listen to this debut album by Trevor Sias confirms what many felt on hearing his initial contributions to the Neo Ouija 'Cottage Industries' compilation series -- here was a voice begging for a bigger canvas. Fitting into the latest currents of the New York city leftfield Flora and Fauna, moments here bring to mind a more electronic take on the activities of The Books, perhaps comparable at points to some of Zammuto's own early CDr only releases. 'Check 'Bureen' or the benign strummed and recorded folktronic 'Broadwalk' for an idea. Equally 'go f7' keys into some of the elements of New York serialism a la Steve Reich, yet adding some 'dance' chording bringing the style fully up to date. Eclectic-acoustic sound collages, glitched laptop shenanigans, inexplicably strange and yet curiously warm feeling -- Pandatone has tapped into an unusual and yet absolutely crucial current within the zeitgeist."

"Matthew Itkin and Rami Abraham hailing from Baltimore, Maryland (USA) have been formulating their unique experiments in sound sculpting for just over a year now as Sica. Subtle ambience, relaxed squeaks, tempered clip-hop, and instrumental piano distortions seem to crash together peacefully on Partially Function Stub, Sica's debut album. The tracks are all exquisitely crafted boasting an unparalleled attention to detail that is one of Neo Ouija's hallmark characteristics. Definitely a peculiar formula for the Sica landscape, and a release that may put Neo Ouija in a comfortable position right in line with many other labels striving to attain this particular style of (experimental) listening music."

"Bauri's debut album is here. Slacker Journal is music for contemplation; beautiful mood music that is subtle, melancholy, entrancing and hypnotic. Like much of Neo Ouija's recent output, the complexity, intricacy and construction of each piece is staggering. Bauri's music evolves at a languid, mesmerizing pace and with amazing attention to detail. Bauri (aka Martin Abrahammson) has a natural touch when it comes to building a track up, layer upon layer, before allowing it to dissolve again. Slacker Journal like Bauri's numerous EP's, is oddly esoteric yet surprisingly addictive. The 9 tracks on Slacker Journal, which included 'Vintetar', are despite their length, all over far too quickly. The album features classic Bauri styled pieces like 'Twinkle Stars' with its smooth, rather eerie Vangelis-esque pads (think the introduction to 'Blade Runner') and is showered in glittering fx, or the aquatic, uneasy 'Kolikok', which drones, bubbles, flutters and bursts over an alien heartbeat. Then there are the more brooding tracks like 'Knusfilur', suffused with warm droning melodies and clunking percussion over which a lustrous wind-chimed melody unravels, or the exquisite 'Snowflake' which whistles, stutters and chatters over a relentless looped bassline. Some may find Slacker Journal heavy going but the album's remarkable cohesiveness really demands that the whole album be listened to in one sitting. What's often noticeable about many albums is that they simply end after 'x' number of tracks. Slacker Journal, however, concludes thanks to the expertly created title track, which works wonderfully when listened to in context, i.e. after the rest of the album has been heard."

"Andrew Fearn also known as Infant first came to Neo Ouija's attention 2 years ago as a long time friend of the producer Geiom (Skam, City Centre Offices, Neo Ouija). Infant contributed to Geiom's fine remix EP 'Cut and Pressed' and also appeared on the first Cottage Industries compilation. Growing Up is Infant's debut album, an album of beautiful arrangements and pop sensibilities where Infant has developed and cultivated a quaint, idyllic place in which the listener can totally emerge themselves and relax in. Beautiful melodies, intricate programming and outstanding production all conspire to create a highly emotional and involving electronic landscape."

"Matthew Itkin and Rami Abraham, hailing from Baltimore, Maryland (US), have been formulating their unique experiments in sound sculpting for just over a year now. Subtle ambience, relaxed squeaks, tempered clip-hop, and instrumental piano distortions are blended to perfection on 'You Are Not Milk Machines'. It's definitely a peculiar formula that Sica use, teasing you into the open with their casual electric manipulations before leaving you lost in the ether longing for more melody to lift your thoughts. Another example of effortlessly classy (experimental) listening music from the Neo Ouija label."
