Following his return with 12"s on Vakant (VA 069EP) and Boddika's Nonplus throughout 2017, Avatism lands on Parachute with four '90s-inspired emo-trance breakbeat summertime anthems for people who despise summer. Includes download code featuring the bonus track "Myths Forgotten By Day".

John Cohen, aka Dead Fader, first arrived on Parachute in 2016, with It Works 1 (PAR 010EP) -- a brace of warping, high-energy electronic music compositions that, while largely unclassifiable in genre, maintain a gloriously vibrant, emotive sensibility that owes much to early IDM excursions and the more abstract tenets of Krautrock. That said, the artist cites anything from Kanye West to Bach and back again as informing the decidedly experimental and potentially confounding work. His latest offering for the Milan based label continues to riff on this open-ended mesh of influence to great effect. The new LP, Jenny 153, runs out across nine tracks and operates at the fertile juncture between classical and club music compositional structures, and examines the crossover points between the two disciplines. According to the artist, the work deals with themes of acceptance and an "opening up" emotionally -- and a palpable sense of catharsis runs deep through the recordings. Colorful and undeniably cohesive, in spite of its rhythmic complexity, the recordings present a vital snapshot of the potential space that exists on the periphery of the dance music genre. Includes download code.

British left-field artist John Cohen, aka Dead Fader, returns to Parachute. The original material from Jenny 153 (PAR 019LP) is buoyed by a formidable remix package, featuring Downwards affiliate JK Flesh -- who turns in a caustic reinterpretation of "FYI"; Roly Porter of Vex'd and Tri Angle fame, who takes on "Raw Food"; and Planet Mu's Konx-Om-Pax, who reimagines "Life Cycle". It's an admirable line-up, in keeping with the aesthetic concerns of Cohen's excellent LP -- and the chosen artists turn in respectful but wholly personal work -- making for an excellent addition to growing Parachute discography.

South London Ordnance debuts on Parachute. The British producer marks his first release of 2017 with Parallel Window, a four-track EP featuring three wrought-iron originals and remix from Sigha. Driven and direct, the music marries rolling low-end with high-energy drum machine percussion and wide angle highs. Shifts in tone are subtle, developing over prolonged periods with careful modulation drawing sounds in-and-out of the sonic hinterland. Sigha hones in on this sentiment -- lifting the caustic lead bassline from "Parallel Window" and augmenting it with cavernous low-end, skittering highs, and a rolling lead arp creating a hypnotic, half-time dirge.

Finally back as Clockwork, Francesco Leali reveals a five track EP featuring some of his most rugged music to date. A briery shift into foggier territories where Leali explores layered sound-design and broken rhythms, something he had only hinted in his previous work, Online Entity depicts Leali's hindrance with modern society's social networking obsession. The release showcases this approach with five club-ready numbers filled with calculated, pounding drums and gloomy atmospheres, with only rare glimpses of hope scattered throughout. Fellow Parachute affiliate Ayarcana and Serbian techno pro Lag deliver startling interpretations of "Escape Sequence" and "Rumination".

CW/A are producers Thomas Feriero and Francesco Leali present Ringleader EP. The duo return with their first original productions since their debut full length, 2015's critically acclaimed Words Unspoken, Acts Undone (PAR 006CD/LP). Inspired by global trends towards Orwellian mass surveillance and cyber espionage, Ringleader aims to be an audible interpretation of big data, ubiquitous connections and the acceptance of corporate and government spying. Grim and mechanical by nature, the six tracks - named after leaked code names of government tools used to watch on citizens - work as a soundtrack to the destruction of privacy. Appearing for the first time on Instagram in 2014, Poorgrrrl is the culmination of the Miami based artist Tara Long's worst dreams and best nightmares. As an online identity or IRL, Poorgrrrl challenges viewers and listeners with convoluted lyrics and a lo-fi "fuck it" demeanor. She presents an alternative personality to pop culture, appropriating it where she must. She is on a quest to save Miami, her birthplace and home, from its own reputation, before it goes underwater. Her debut EP, Pitiparti, is a collection of her work so far. "SUPER RUDE" features Jenee.

2018 repress. Parachute presents a reissue of art rock unit Starfuckers' legendary Sinistri LP, remastered and pressed on vinyl for the very first time since its original release in 1994 on Underground Records. Formed in 1987, Starfuckers, an Italian avant-garde band primarily from the 1990s, were considered to be a notable part of the experimental rock scene and one of the more "out there" acts during their active tenure. Originally inspired by '80s post-Stooges noise and New York City no wave, Starfuckers eventually carved their path to their own distinctive sound by following in the footsteps of Iannis Xenakis, John Cage, Bruno Maderna and Karlheinz Stockhausen, all without ever abandoning their own attitude and raw personality. An incredibly important record, Sinistri feels just as fresh as it did in 1994.

Dead Fader, aka John Cohen, presents It Works 1. The EP kicks off with the anthem "Spinning Wheel", an earthy house track that really gets hearts racing and resonating over a throbbing bass line. "Climaxed" turns up the volume on a techno banger, reminding of Jeff Mills or Clark at their most playful. Skittering arpeggios, flying around a thumping kick drum.

Born in Canada, Fatima Camara was raised in a large Portuguese family where traditional song and dance were as integral to her family gatherings as food, laughter, and wine. Before We Sleep, her debut album, is as a collage of diverse musical influences that have defined each chapter of her storied life. Bass guitar lines wrought with the new-wave sound that marked her formative adolescence, drums that echo the electronic music she migrated to during her early adulthood in Toronto's dance music scene, and an overriding melancholy that signals the conflicted feelings she has when considering the thin layer of dust that has collected upon her chair at the family dinner table since she made her move to Berlin. Apart from music, Fatima appreciates happy accidents, blended horizons, and unlit corners.

The passing of time... what has been spoken is now unspoken. All that has been has been undone. CW/A present their remarkable debut album, Words Unspoken, Acts Undone. Since their inception CW/A have forged a path through the murky world of electronic music with a number of releases on Vakant, M_REC, and their own Parachute Records. Previously accomplished musicians in their own right, Thomas Feriero (Avatism) and Francesco Leali (Clockwork) joined forces in 2013 to begin a live project that took the act of performance into the club. Shying away from typical setups so prevalent nowadays, CW/A bring to the club a level of live performance that they've now translated into their first full-length. Weighing in at 11 tracks, the album demonstrates the duo's musical heritage of early Warp-style bass but also UK jungle and Downwards-influenced dub techno. This isn't an album that looks back with any misty-eyed nostalgia, though; it respectfully brings its '90s influences straight into 2015, seamlessly weaving from genre to genre with an up-to-date element to the production. If you're expecting an album of rave breaks or straight-up 4/4, you won't find it here, but if you're ready to leave behind what you've heard already, Words Unspoken, Acts Undone is for you.

Three road-tested live extracts alongside remixes from Stroboscopic Artefacts founder Lucy and Ilian Tape co-founder Dario Zenker. CW/A is the live collaboration between long-time friends and studio partners Thomas (Avatism) and Francesco (Clockwork). Originally a live amalgamation of their solo material, it eventually evolved into a broader, more dynamic, improvisation-centric performance focused on experimenting around the outskirts of techno, jungle, and electronica. Day of Riddance offers a glimpse of both Parachute and C/WA's vision: a barrier-trashing wall of sound that goes from live settings into the studio and back.

A collaboration between two artists who have blended their respective musical styles to forge a three-track extended player. M_Rec boss Max_M, a well-known and experienced purveyor of the genre, delivers his undeniable touch and joins Wrong Assessment, a young Milanese artist who combines gritty synth lines with rumbling drum patterns. This three-tracker dictates a path from the spacey synths of "Toe Tag," on which the two artists join forces, to the truly captive nature of Max_M's "Nose Out," all the way to Wrong Assessment's "Scaphoid," which sums up the three tracks with a dashing, percussive synthesized rhythm.

Two key artists remix tracks off of Clockwork's B.O.A.T.S. (LAD 009CD) album. The package kicks off with the man behind the acclaimed Answer Code Request moniker, Patrick Graser, reinterpreting "First Floor." An engaging alternative to its mellower original version, in this remix Answer Code Request provides us with a glorious broken beat-down dreamscape that methodically thrives to develop in all its distinction. On the other side you'll find a pleasant surrogate to the previous stripped-down variant, on rework duties this time Scott Monteith aka Deadbeat. Throughout his signature fast-paced groove, Deadbeat takes "Second Floor" to a higher level.
