PUZZLE 006EP
|
"Early support by: Loco Dice, Martinez, D'Julz, Anthony Collins, Marco Resmann, Agnès, Jimpster, Laurent Garnier, Konrad Black, Dean Mushin and more. Rumors say an early version of Mick Thammer´s 'Sweep' already received support by Loco Dice and Ricardo Villalobos. A few years have passed and the final version made it into the hands of Sven Palzer, who immediately signed the track for his label Puzzle Traxx, to give it its well-deserved official release! Now whether Ricardo and Dice have played it or not, one thing is for sure, this weird shuffled catchy tune with its hypnotic FM bass line that walks up and down in filters and octaves over nine minutes is outstanding and has timeless personality! Markus Fix, one of the executives of the new Frankfurt House sound, with releases on highly acclaimed labels such as Cecille, Oslo, Be Chosen, Below and Deep Vibes, delivers even two remixes- a thrilling, deep technoid tribal affair and a (Beatport exclusive) minimalistic hypnotic workout for early morning sessions. Further remixes come from Mick´s studio partner Holger Brauns (Flug von Welt, Liebe*Detail) plus, as usual, the puzzle-traxx.com exclusive download (this time by Miro & Kloeber) that is only available against password, which is scratched into the runout-groove of the vinyl. Things just can´t start any better for Mick Thammer, who has reliably set dancefloors on fire in southern Germany and Austria for years."

"Patrick Zigon, who gained a lot of attention with his heavily played and remixed 'Mental Draining' as well as with remixes for Cocoon, Trapez, Kling Klong and Be As One, teams up with a bunch of his closest friends to produce the versatile Collabo EP. First off is longtime homie and Puzzle Traxx label owner, Sven Palzer, finally giving his label debut with 'Quid Pro Quo.' A driving samba-tech groove combined with Dave Clark-ish reverbs and a Basic Channel-esque chord riff make up a deep but at the same time uplifting soulful dancefloor weapon. Cologne-based Niko Krist & Zigon bring up 'Sendeffekt' -- a monotone but extremely effective tool with a rollin' bass groove and a pushing, effect loaded chord line. Last but not least, Croatia's rising star Mark Ash shows that 'Balkan knows' how to create warm, moody vibes and praise the summer season."

"Patrick Zigon's 'Mental Draining' was hot with an avalanche of diverse top level DJs including M.A.N.D.Y., Adam Beyer, Shlomi Aber, Sebo K, Damian Lazarus, Jamie Jones, Laurent Garnier & Karotte to name just a few. That hypnotic, ear-catching synth line and the moody chords simply screamed to get remixed! It goes without saying that such a huge supported record also deserves a huge remix package, and so four (4!) further Mental Draining lovers immediately agreed to deliver their very own and outstanding interpretations: Poker Flat Recordings finest Martin Landsky, who is just about to release his new single 'Man High' going on an old school trip, man-of-the-moment Agnès delivering a superb, dreamy deep house monster, rising star Alessandro Crimi embedding dub techno elements into a driving tech house weapon, and last but not least, Puzzle Traxx artist Random Play tweaking things more freaky."

PUZZLE 001EP

"Puzzle Traxx is not a label of big words, it's the inside that counts! Founded with the first warm sunrays of 2006 by German multi-activist Sven Palzer, the label's aim is as simple as ambitious: delivering soulful floor tools -- dance electronica far beyond stereotyped thinking. Puzzle 001 by Danish producer talent Ohrsten Nors is a deep but bass-heavy psychotic tune based on a hypnotizing sinus tone, that simply sticks into your head. The flipside holds an ace remix by man-of-the-moment Alex Under, who currently is in everybody's talks due to his genre refreshing tracks on labels such as Trapez, Richie Hawtin's Plus8 and his own imprint CMYK Musik, and whose productions receive heavy and steady support by the likes of Hawtin, Villalobos, Bug, Luciano, Tanzmann & co. His remix keeps the catchy sinus line, but adds a portion more drive and darkness."
