LP version. 180 gram vinyl; Includes download code. The Day are Laura Loeters from Utrecht, Netherlands and Hamburg-based Gregor Sonnenberg. Since meeting at "Hogeschool voor de kunsten" in Arnhem, the two keep reconciling distances, differences, and always new approaches and perspectives. What runs like a thread through all of this is the interest to take charge of things themselves, try out and grow on it together. The Day is where whimsical dream pop meets a DIY ethos learned from hardcore. A sparse, springy, and rapturous dynamic alternates with a wildly imaginative dream-pop harmony, rock, and synths create just as inspiring contrasts as the refreshing, reduced postpunk references. This is continued in the songs by themes that connect and contrast the private and the political as often as possible. The Day's music expresses utopia as well as melancholy in its escapism and thus refuses to be interpreted in an overly fixed way. The band is an international long-distance constellation, an almost celebratory pan-European idea of unification (which sadly can't be emphasized too often in recent months). The Day have released two EPs by themselves, were constantly on the road, supported Kate Tempest live, and have formulated their own version of melancholic pop music. The two continue to work on creating their own version of introvert, melancholic pop music: intimate without being intruding, and speaking with inner calmness.

Odd Beholder, the project of Zurich-based musician Daniela Weinmann, releases its full-length debut album All Reality Is Virtual. All Reality Is Virtual is an intelligent, tenderly flowing and weird pop album, colorful, assertive. It deals with the strange temptations of our time: from Tinder to AI, from offline loneliness to obsessive self-marketing. "I noticed that the main temptation of a digitalized life is the idea that everything can be measured, recorded and therefore known", says Weinmann. "But I yearn for surprise, for wonder. The unknown, the uncontrollable is appealing to me". Odd Beholder have released two highly acclaimed EPs already, Lighting (2016) and Atlas (SINNBUS 068EP, 2017), followed by the Remixes EP (2018). Those remixes have been contributed by friends made along the way and artists of which Odd Beholder became fans: The/Das, Fejká, Hundreds, Alessandro Giannelli, Kalipo, and Thomas Atzmann. After having played tours in China, Germany, Switzerland and Italy, Weinmann teamed up with Swiss musician and producer Martin Schenker to finish producing All Reality Is Virtual. CD in four-sided digipak on thick paper.

Over a decade into their musical life as Rue Royale, Brookln and Ruth Dekker are back with In Parallel, an album of bold, rhythmic, and sometimes haunting songs born from a time of beauty and tumult. The album was done with the help from Sean Carey (Bon Iver, S. Carey) whose rhythmic inventiveness adds a new texture to Rue Royale's music. The Nottingham-based Anglo-American duo have paid their dues with 1,000+ shows in 16 countries. In 2014, the pair took an enforced period of time off the road. After seven years of virtually non-stop life on-the-road, they needed a breather. Instead, they had a baby. Being joined in life by a daughter, the oft-clichéd pleasure and pain of child rearing became real at home whilst paying the bills and facing up to political upheavals in their dual home countries with Trump and Brexit. "We're conscious that things have maybe taken a bit longer to kick into gear again than we, and those who follow us, anticipated," says Ruth. "We're now embracing our differing perceptions and balancing imbalances. We're moving forward with a confidence and a sort of wide-angle view comprised of our parallel-realities, exploring these themes and feelings in In Parallel." CD version comes in four-sided digipack.

Jan Roth's second album Kleinod will be released by Sinnbus. Five years after his gorgeous debut L.O.W. (2013), Roth delivers a real gem in the best sense of the word. Personally valuable, with light patina, various scratches, and one or two significant dents. Loaded with important stories and memories, with dignity and full of love, Kleinod is a band album. The album of a band, however, whose members prefer to leave space for each other. Roth's unobtrusive piano unites the seven other instruments played on the album, but more as an underlying texture in the background. His "all-time-favorite" bass player Alex Binder, and the "amazing" drummer Maximilian Stadtfeld, lend hand to the songs, with their airy playing, helping set the tone for the rest of Roth's album. Finally, Antonia Hausmann and Fritz Moshammer make the music shine even brighter with trombone, clarinet, trumpet, and flugelhorn. While the former were planned from the outset, the latter were just "in town for a few days, having nothing better to do.", having them there was "the magic of chance," says Roth. "These four gems made it very easy for me to play the piano." The album opens largely promising. "Herbst" sets the stage with Roth's signature, gentle and open piano. The piece draws in warm tones, less of a view of a dark winter and more a view that goes back to a long and great summer. "Boicycle" is about a boy who learns to ride a bicycle, just as the helping hand lets go of the handle bars: shaky and overwhelming at first, but alas, a proud conquer of a new freedom upon release.

LP version. Includes download code. The debut album of Yeah But No -- the project for the duo of producer Douglas Greed and singer Fabian Kuss, who previously released on labels like BPitch Control, Noir, and Cocoon Records -- celebrates the energy of every change and the beauty of every new start. It also maps the melancholy hidden in synths and drum machines. The project of Berlin based musicians Douglas Greed and Fabian Kuss -- that has grown into a band -- tracks down the heaviness of breach and ending in rainy electronica. It celebrates the energy within every change and the beauty of a new start. With smart compositions the duo airily maps the melancholy hidden in synths and drum machines. Douglas Greed made a name for himself in the techno scene and recently released an album together with Mooryc with their mutual project Eating Snow. Meanwhile, Kuss gained experiences in all imaginable styles of music. The two met in 2013 when Greed was looking for a singer for his tracks. After one hundred gigs, as well as the release of a dozen of tracks together, both decided to let the project grow into a band and start writing tracks together.

Engrossed, yet almost sober music. As sublime as an empty parking lot at dawn. Odd Beholder's second EP Atlas. Odd Beholder combine introverted song writing with an abstracted and yet almost restrained, stark sound. Whereas pop is the finish line, not the starting point. The group on their music: "We develop our songs out of the experiment into simplicity." With the release of their debut EP Lighting (2016), the secret hit "Landscape Escape" and the corresponding video shot in Azerbaijan Daniela Weinmann and James Varghese have already created quite a stir.

The long-awaited full-length debut by Berlin-based artist La Boum Fatale, following collaborations with Glenn Astro and Sieren and remixes for Me and My Drummer, Hundreds, and Sizarr. In 2012, musician and producer Antonio de Spirt burst out of nowhere with the surprise hit "AAA" and the beautiful electronica of his debut EP, Damwild. Here, de Spirt gives himself room to experiment. La Boum Fatale has always been a project of cooperation, of creative exchange and friction. Most of these tracks are joint works with artists whose output de Spirt deeply appreciates. He offers the music as a field for experimentation and is calm enough to impose no conditions on the heated "No Tongue In Cheek," sung by Danish artist Asbjørn; the wild "Ghosts" with Pantasz; the floating "Lovers Dough" (with Fee Kürten aka Tellavision); "He Just Might" (with Brookln Dekker (Rue Royale)); and the overflowing "When We Fall/Razor Wires" with vocals by Petula.

LP version. Includes download code. The Trail is the third album by Berlin-based artist, musician and singer-songwriter Katrin Hahner aka Miss Kenichi. Though her first two, low-key albums were more than well-received in her homeland, The Trail is a huge leap forward, the work of a mature and confident performer, its songwriting subtle and captivating, its arrangements imaginative and complex. The album was recorded in Berlin's Chez Cherie studios, accompanied by longtime collaborator Earl Harvin (Tindersticks) and with the help of a number of other musicians, amongst them Terry Edwards (Gallon Drunk, Tindersticks) and Chris Bruce (Meshell Ndgeocello, Chris Connelly).

Einar Stray Orchestra's new album has been given the name Politricks and is lyrically a tribute to childhood heroes and beliefs that are shattered when faced with the reality of the adult world. It is a personal story about finding oneself, about adolescent frustration in the middle of a blizzard of different beliefs. It is about losing a friend to death and a farewell letter to God, which was never sent but made into a song instead. Politricks is an album about being ashamed of Norwegian foreign policies 0- about being from a country that hands out peace prizes with one hand and simultaneously makes weapons of war and builds its extreme prosperity on oil with the other. Musically, Einar Stray Orchestra is inspired by artists such as Sufjan Stevens and Godspeed You! Black Emperor with the same orchestral approach to composing. The songs will be as long as they need to be, and where both shouting and whispering colors the soundscape. Politricks is a dynamic and colorful album. Dark melancholy and an orchestral sound that meets an accessible pop sound with more shades than on its predecessor Chiaroscuro. The signature grand piano gets a rest at times in favor of electric guitar and shoegaze influences. Politricks takes you from stripped a cappella to noisy rock crescendos. The album was produced by Hasse Rosbach (Team Me/Moddi) and mixed by Nick Terry (Libertines/Klaxons/Serena Maneesh).

Finally, the first full-length album from The/Das! For Freezer, the former side project of Bodi Bill allow themselves to be more band than project. In a technoid frame they create, along with regulars Thomalla (Krakatau), Jorg Wahner (Apparat) and Gunnar Spies (MIA.), a distinctly organic, in-depth soundscape. The/Das have chosen an exciting path. After sending their previous band Bodi Bill into a break, Fabian Fenk and Anton Feist have tried a lot with their new project The/Das, combining different musical approaches under one umbrella. Two EPs with techno tracks were released on Italy's cutting-edge dance label Life And Death. Fenk has also contributed vocals with Tale Of Us, also on Life And Death. The/Das have travelled half the world, performing -- according to context -- as a band or merging their pieces into pulsating DJ sets. The/Das' style has condensed more and more and their sub-cooled and highly driving music has grown, culminating in this highly-anticipated album.
