Sonor Music Editions presents this restored reissue of Maestro Sandro Brugnolini's Overground. This elusive masterpiece in library music captures the most impressive work, alongside Underground (1970), of the Italian composer and alto sax player. Overground was released on Sincro Edizioni Musicali in 1970 as the soundtrack to Enrico Moscatelli and Mario Rigoni's documentary Persuasione, commissioned by Ente Provinciale Per Il Turismo Di Trento, a local tourism board in Italy, with music composed by Sandro Brugnolini and Luigi Malatesta, featuring some of the best musicians in Italy at the time like Angelo Baroncini and Silvano Chimento on guitars, Giorgio Carnini on piano and organ, Enzo Restuccia on drums, and Giovanni Tommaso on bass and effects. The music spans from underground psychedelic prog rock with swirling organs, trippy effects, and distorted fuzz guitars to sophisticated Lounge grooves with avant-garde orchestrations. The music has been transferred and remastered from the original master tapes. It has been lacquer cut in stereo by Jukka Sarapää at Timmion Cutting and packed in a thick cardboard sleeve featuring a fully restored painting by Umberto Mastroianni licensed by Centro Studi dell'Opera di Umberto Mastroianni.

Sonor Music Editions presents this revived issue of Open Air Parade, one of the most sought-after artifacts from the golden era of Italian library music. This holy grail was originally released in 1972 on the legendary Sermi Records label (often referred to as SR Records). It features ten tracks composed by Ennio Morricone's whistler, Alessandro Alessandroni, revealing his great talent and unrivaled sense of melody, accompanied by the brilliant Italian jazz bassist Giovanni Tommaso, also founder and member of the legendary prog-jazz-rock ensemble Perigeo. The music ranges from superb psychedelic lounge funk, compelling groovy jazz beat tunes, and far-ranging mood music with lush arrangements. It's an essential album, officially reissued by Sonor Music Editions. Sonor Music Editions is presenting under our New Tape label Mark Saddlemire's debut release Sound-In-The-Round, that draws a deep inspiration from the golden era of Italian library and soundtrack music. Something akin to the legendary prog-rock ensemble Goblin and the avant-garde composer Giuliano Sorgini, but with plenty of grooveness. Mark Saddlemire is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer from Philadelphia, passionate about creating instrumental compositions from a blend of acoustical and electronic sounds using analog techniques. An electrical engineer by trade, he's customized and repaired much of the vintage gear used for his recordings -- his studio is a collection of unique and rare analog instruments from the 1960s to the 1980s.

Reissue, originally released in 1973. Sonor Music Editions announces a previously unknown Italian library killer session from the golden era -- Rhythm And Sound by the mysterious Mandrassi & Zollinger, backed by I Beati studio band. Mandrassi, alias for Anna Maria Assunta Andreassi, is one of the very first female composers of library music in Italy while Zollinger is linked to Sergio Pagano, brother of the famed Italian author, composer and singer Mario Pagano. Originally released in 1973 for the private studio label Ludo Record, this album remained in the obscurity for almost 50 years. It's so rare that only very few hardcore record collectors know it, it was thought to not have existed at all. Countless breaks galore, filled with outstanding funk grooves, and chasing beats. The jam sounds like a missing link between The Fine Machine's Habitat and Arawak's legendary Accadde a... recordings, with its up-tempo rhythms allover and the coolest funky instrumentation played by a mysterious studio group.

Reissue, originally released in 1970. Giovanni Tommaso is the greatest Italian jazz bassist and founder and member of the most important ever Italian jazz rock ensembles, the Perigeo band. He composed Indefinitive Atmosphere at the end of 1969, released a few months after in 1970 on Sermi label, and recorded it at RCA studios in Rome. Indefinitive Atmosphere represents a special album for him and for us as well, since it was his first album released as a sole composer/artist. The maestro dug in personal archive for Sonor Music Editions and finally found a copy of the original master tape containing part of the recordings. Besides the misspelled title "Indefinitive" instead of "Indefinite", adding to the legend here, this album was incredibly ahead of his time. The young maestro Tommaso played electric bass and contrabass in a studio ensemble with a strings section. Plenty of stunning jazz-funk, jazz-rock and free jazz tracks. The session is also known for including the legendary American jazz soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy on the track called "Steve", where he plays a sax solo. Full session restored from the original tapes found, and digitally remastered the sound for a greater sound experience.

Sonor Music Editions team was able to rescue from oblivion the lost tapes of this incredible recording, composed and orchestrated by the great Italian arranger and pianist Paolo Ormi. Originally conceived in 1972 at RCA studios in Rome, the album has been never officially released on any commercial/physical format until now. A promo Stereo-8 was only issued at the time on a ridiculous run, and only distributed for non-commercial purposes among the TV circuits. P.O.X. Sound is a really special Latin-funk banger that anticipates P.O.X. Sound Vol. 2 LP, issued in 1973, and clearly shows maestro Ormi's strong Latin-influenced take on music with tones of groovy Latin jazz, exciting breaks and hot Latin funk groovers. A fabulous album from start to finish and another lost gem of the 1970s Italian music scene rediscovered.

Founded in early '70s by historical RAI TV trumpeter and composer Cicci Santucci (Looking Around (1971), On The Underground Road (1971)), New Tape grew up during the golden period of Italian music production and was dedicated to experimentation of new forms of sound, always hailing from the solid jazz base of the musicians and inspired by theme music. Andrea Galtieri aka Cavalier Piscopo has sequenced the very best shots from the label's production and included exclusive liner notes, creating an explosive mix of jazz-rock, bossa, spellbinding grooves, and raw experimental stuff. "A leading figure in the Italian jazz scene, Santucci worked as trumpeter in the legendary RAI TV orchestra for over 20 years. He was renowned for collaborations with such jazz legends as Lionel Hampton, Gato Barbieri, and Kenny Clarke, until his foray into the avant-garde with The Living Music, a project founded by his brother Umberto. During these same years, he took part in important Italian jazz sessions like Looking Around and On The Underground Road, with Enzo Scoppa. It was just around this period that Cicci founded his own label, New Tape. His goal was to dedicate himself to composing library music with a new expression, less linked to hard bop or American standards, but more focused on the sounds of the time that brought the listener closer to modern vibes, like jazz-rock and the avant-garde. Mixed Grill opens this series, by the maestro's alias, Girosan, along with Lesiman (aka Paolo Renosto). Rengran Mix (1971) and Tropical (1972) followed, with music by Renosto and Romolo Grano. This work gave way to electronic instrumentation, and was built on a rich rhythmical carpet -- tropical percussion, rock and blues-inspired vibes, sleazy psych, and jazz improvisations. The label's most important production was the fourth album, Mirage (1971) by Santucci and Enzo, an explosive mix of elegant jazz, funk, and psychedelia. The last album of the series is Appunti Di Guerra (1971) by the mysterious Ruscigan, an obscure alias which probably belongs to Renosto and Guido Baggiani. This work features complex and dramatic sounds composed for war scenes and gloomy atmospheres, with a large assortment of percussion, distorted effects, and tape manipulation, foreshadowing industrial music. With pressings of only 100 copies per title, New Tape is among the most interesting discoveries to date in terms of original production library music." --Andrea Galtieri. Edition of 500, 180 gram vinyl in heavy cardboard packaging.
