"Wild Billy Childish has been recording and performing since the 1977 punk explosion. The Pop Rivets, Thee Milkshakes, The Headcoats and The Buff Medways being just a few outfits that Billy has been involved with. All that is just a hobby -- his day job is being an internationally exhibited artist, writer and vermin poet. CTMF (The Chatham Forts) was the first group name Billy came up with for a group whilst he was Head of Research for The Medway Military Research Group -- investigating the Medway Fortifications (as well as being an Apprentice Stonemason at Chatham Dockyard, Kent, 1976). It wasn't until 2013 that Billy got around to utilizing the name. CTMF features his wife Julie on bass/vocals and Wolf Howard on drums (both playing with Billy in previous incarnations over the years). CTMF -- described by Billy as 'the epitome of modern: the sound of yesterday, tomorrow!' -- have released ten albums and over thirty singles/EPs. Wild Billy Childish & CTMF found themselves in the studio, once again cutting some of the finest noise to ruin the peace and quiet of the muddy River Medway. 'Searching From The Losing Place' takes Face A, with 'Batman' for Face B. Limited to 500 copies."

"The High Span provide a strange and special blend of DIY post-pop jangle and edgier experimental sounds, of lyric-driven guitar-indie and a bit of English awkwardness. Based in Rochester, Kent, the quartet formed around the songwriting of Kevin Younger (Subway Sect, Ye Ascoyne d'Ascoynes, Baby Birkin, The Speed of Sound and others), with fellow Medway music veteran Mark Aitken (of Ye Ascoyne d'Ascoynes, The Men From Memphis, Bob Collins & The Full Nelson, These Guilty Men and others) and expat Nova Scotian James Moore (of Pod, One Free Fall and revered Canadian alt-rockers Rusty), joined by backing vocalist Sarah Post. The High Span unleashed their Quirky Miniboss Squad EP in August of 2020 (yeah, that year), and managed to grab attention from press and public alike, selected as one of Record Collector's singles of the year, as did their debut, self-titled album in 2023. This new album allows The High Span to continue their edgier experimental sounds. The songs range lyrically from lost-love trauma ('Phantom Limb') and weird recurring dreams ('Ambrosine'), to the anarchist scares of late 19th-century Paris ('Superintendent Baeker'). The band covering the Velvet Monkeys' 1981 US psych-punk stormer 'Everything Is Right' also seems very much right. Limited to 300 copies on vinyl."

"The Singing Loins started as a stripped-down acoustic duo in 1990/91, with the aim of writing honest, bare songs, outside of any particular style, coining the phrase 'Authentic Raw Folk from the Medway Delta.' Their first two albums were recorded with Billy Childish and released on his Hangman Records. Twelve years, and five or six albums later, they added banjo/mandolin/accordion, and hooked up with Damaged Goods Records and released another four or five records (depends who's counting). With a huge fanbase in both Medway and Serbia, but pretty much unknown elsewhere, and plenty of acclaimed shows both home and abroad later, they called it a day in 2013, returning briefly in 2019 to record what turned out to be their swansong, 13 Moon Songs from Merry Hell. The group's singer, Chris Broderick, sadly passed away in early 2022, having let Arf know that he wanted the others to carry on The Singing Loins' name, at which point Arf and Rob got together with Billy Childish again to write and record The Fighting Temeraire album, dedicated to Brod's memory. In parallel with that, The Singing Loins added fiddle/drums/electric/bass, and in 2024 released another long player, Twelve, through Damaged Goods Records; a sort of 'best of' of the lo-fi years, remodeled and re-purposed for the new line-up. Currently, as well as gigging regularly as The Singing Loins, they also moonlight with Billy Childish as The North Kent Folkways Revival, who have collectively recorded another three albums, and also played a Riley & Coe BBC6 Music session. This new mini-album, Camber '87, is a further progression. The lead track, 'Teeth & Eyes,' is a new song; a pox-marked beauty. The other five are revisited versions of lo-fi original oldies, twisted and adapted to the new sound and line-up. Limited to 300 copies on vinyl."

"Cream Soda are a trio of late teens hailing from the Medway Delta, offering Punk Rocked Power Pop, fused with '60s Freakbeat and Garage, as well as the late '80s indie stuff. Respecting the past, with eyes firmly on the road ahead, they echo the classic Medway sound, respecting The Prisoners and Thee Milkshakes, whilst also incorporating more recent influences, along with their very own sound. The idea behind Cream Soda started in late October of 2023 when both the Toms, accompanied by one of Tom Page's mates on bass, started playing original material in various garages after becoming acquainted through Music GCSE at Rainham Mark Grammar School, Medway. Due to creative disagreements, the bass player left and Jack -- another one of Tom Page's mates joined the band; a guitarist by trade but was happy to pick up the four-stringed instrument. Playing their first gig on 1st December 2023, Cream Soda have played throughout Kent, London and the South East since then, sometimes supporting The Masonics and The Len Price 3, and continue to make noise on stages wherever they can. The group released a very short run lathe cut 7" in December 2024, with only twenty copies; they naturally sold in a click. A four-track 7" EP, Make Up your Mind, soon followed, to much acclaim. With the fire still burning very bright, they booked themselves back into Ranscombe Studios, and recorded a further ten tracks to battle up a full-length album for release, with a little help from Zach Moon too. Serving You provides fifteen of Cream Soda's best bits!"

"The Guy Hamper Trio was formed by Billy Childish, after a chat with his friend James Taylor (Hammond organ). Billy and James had played respectively in The Milkshakes and The Prisoners, often sharing the same bill in the early '80s, leading to Billy's blues ensemble The Natural Born Lovers being the support act for the early shows of The James Taylor Quartet. The Guy Hamper Trio is: Billy Childish on guitar, his wife Julie on bass and Wolf on drums -- who as it happens was the drummer in the original incarnation of JTQ -- and of course features James Taylor on Hammond organ. The Guy Hamper Trio provide a bottom end, Blues-influenced instrumental mayhem for those unafraid of dirt, germs and true grime. With no particular wish other than to be recognized as the best at playing badly, they refuse to obey the usual rules of combat and music. Their first 45 (Polygraph Test/Sally Sensation) was released in 2009, followed by a full-length studio album, All The Poisons In The Mud, appearing, as if by magic, in 2022, followed by five 7" singles, and also two further full-length albums. This fully-loaded three-track 7" EP includes 'Chatham's Burning' on the opening face, with Face B including 'A Common Disease and 'If People Don't Like It', both featuring Bash Brand on drums, and Tub Johnson on bass. Once again, after consultation with experts in the field, it was decreed that for the enjoyment of Mods, jive experts, lost revellers, and those prone to frequent discotheques, these tracks needed to be on a 7" single and made available throughout England, the UK, Europe, the USA, Indonesia and indeed Portsmouth."

"Wild Billy Childish has been recording and performing since the 1977 punk explosion. The Pop Rivets, Thee Milkshakes, The Headcoats, and The Buff Medways being just a few outfits that Billy has run into the ground. But all that is just a hobby gone out of control -- his day job is being an internationally exhibited artist, writer and vermin poet. Specializing in Chicago style Blues, The Chatham Singers have released five albums since 2005, via Hangman Records and Damaged Goods, and over a dozen 7" singles, some rarer than others, some worse than others. The Chatham Singers are Billy Childish on vocals/guitar, Juju on vocals/bass, Wolf Howard on drums/percussion, and 'Bludy' Jim Riley on harp. Here comes a full long player, which includes some of the songs from records only available as limited 45's, free at their sell-out shows. some of them recorded by The Hangman Field Recording Unit, and others at Bludy Jim's Ranscombe shack.
