"Subtrakt once again delivers a release worth its weight in plastic, featuring Current Value, Audio, Machine Code & Underhill. Low Life is pure bass culture, machine-wrapped and delivered for the pleasure of our mortal ears. A1: Subdivision's in-house steppers have knocked up one hell of a beast in 'Dead Foot.' 5 minutes of neck tearing will be induced from the intense Beavis and Butt-Head nodding that will unwillingly be infected on you. 'Dead Foot' is Underhill's 1st output on vinyl but by no means the last. 'Dead Foot' is a peak time floor-pounder; please choose the right moment to drop. A2: Subtrakt is proud to be the 1st label to release Current Value's naughty twist on dubstep; as the name suggests, 'Heavy Weight' is one beast of a tune. There is not much that has to be said about this track other than play destroy and enjoy. Made for all dubtech freaks looking for the Tyson of all tunes to crush fellow nodders. B1: Machine Code is the pseudonym for Current Value and Dean Rodell, a side project that has evolved out of the early morning sessions in Subdivision's Berlin Studio. So with sound systems still quivering in their boots from their last assault, Subtrakt is proud to bring you their 1st release as Machine Code and their next round of ammo. 'Duberlin' sees the pair mixing up classic dub bass and cheeky wobbles with skanks that cut through the tight techy production. That keeps them a cut above in their respected fields. B2: The last remaining dub treat is finally dished out by one of DnB's finest -- Audio's 'Agent of Chaos' has all the classy trademarks that we have come to expect from an Audio output. Recognized for his crisp production skills and slick arrangements on labels such as Techfreak and Offkey, he manages to capture his unique style within this dubstep shell and rework it to a flow that he has made 100% his own. Audio rounds off another classic slab from Subtrakt's ever growing Subheads sound."

"Techno titan Dean Rodell teams up with one of DnB's most respect producers, Current Value, to bring you a first taste of their shared vision of dubstep, Sparse Land. 'Requiem' has a deep old skool vibe, with rich synth pads that make the hair on your neck stand up and a piano to tug on the strings of your heart. Tight, techy percussion and meaty drums bind the melodic atmospheres to form a package that is tighter than a virgins daughter. 'Requiem' is a step beyond the average; class dubstep meets old skool electronica, the finest in the underground. For the 'Requiem' remix we welcome Balkansky (aka Cooh) back to the fold. His mix brings Dean and CV's concept piece straight back to the dancefloor. A hard hitting dub fuelled beast that punches in all the right places and a further example of the masterful audio manipulation skill of Balkansky. If 'Corridor' were a film it could only be described as Event Horizon meets Blade Runner. The cold, sterile ambiances and bleak 'sci-fi' cynicism breed with a bassline that haunts the very kit it dances with. 'User Error' is a collaboration with new Subtrakt signing 'Underhill.' Perhaps the most dubby cut of the EP, but still with a sense that a little techno and DnB may lurk beneath. This is the first of many huge Underhill tracks lined up for Subtrakt over the coming months, keep your ears open and you shall not be disappointed!"

"Well known on the DnB and dubstep scene for his fiendishly twisted artwork, UK creative genius Monsta is also a beast of a producer. In this, his third release for Subtrakt, he teams up with Mr Key to bring us 'Space Raiders,' a vocal dubstep demon of truly gargantuan proportions; so huge, in fact that it threatens to bring down mankind itself. Or maybe it's just a packet of crisps? Dean Rodell bravely attempts to contain the threat on his remix, but an army of space raiders march up out of their packet and flatten the whole city using a supernatural arsenal of sonic weapons that pull down skyscrapers with rasping bass and fry a million brains with shrieking sirens that can be heard in even the far corners of the galaxy. On the second remix DnB hero Raiden stands up, and the guerilla war begins. Taking his inspiration from the paranoid B-movies of the Cold War-era, he morphs the original lead sounds into something so spooky and bizarre the 'Space Raiders' have no choice but to pack their flying saucers and piss off back to ZetaReticuli. Phew, that was close."

"Balkansky aka Cooh has stepped up to the dubplate to bring 3 solid percussive morsels to pleasure your ears. Known for his hard-hitting dnb with outputs on Position Chrome, Offkey and Subsistenz that have gained him so much credos in dnb, has now turned his skills and unique energy to one of his main loves, dubstep. We are proud to bring you his first-ever solo vinyl release on Subtrakt's first solo output from a producer that continues to create tracks that push boundaries and set benchmarks wherever he applies his craft. 'Hipnoza': we have been rinsing this track at Subdivision HQ now for nearly 3 months, and it's about time that we share this quirky slab of dubmanship. A real peak-time monster of a track full of tight grooves and infectious rhythms that highlight what Balkansky is all about. United keeps up the pressure with a true nodder, beating out solid grooves enhanced by lucid FX and rolling vocals that cut away from the groove, creating depth and movement. Another must-have number for any dubstep box. Balkansky closes the deal with the beautiful 'Hitroza,' -- again Balkansky captures the mood and then kills it with his stealth-edged drums, leaving room for the bass to do its worst, while letting the cheeky synths skank breath in and out of the grooves."

"First up is 'Jah Wednesday' from Janner and Snoman, currently residing in Belgium. Sweet-sounding organ skank leads into rock-solid beats which in turn are backed up by a thunderous, brooding b-line that morphs constantly throughout the track. Intense pressure on this, start to finish. Croydon exile Defekta steps up to the table for the first time with 'Dub One,' a fine blend of deep techy atmospheres and classic skank-fueled dub. The gritty bass throbs in and out of the deep layered grooves keeping the flow nice and steady eddy. 'Rumdog' is probably not the sound you would expect from one of Rodell's productions, known to most in the hard techno scene and of late in the technoid d'n'b scene, working alongside Raiden in The Dying Punks. 'Rumdog' is an organic sound that builds around a simple but infectious synth line complemented with dynamic delays and reverbs. Last but by no means least, Janner, a former releasee on Moving Shadow, has an outing on his own with 'Electricity.' The deep, heaving bass is filtered in and out of a typical Janner-styled step: 100% floor friendly... 100% off-road."
