Subwax Excursions presents a split record highlighting two workers of the club scene whose works are screaming for recognition. Chronophone teams up with Detroit's vocalist Mike Anderson on a house affair called "In the Sunset." The original track employs pounding rhythms and a catchy bleepy bass that serve as the perfect grounding for Anderson's dark vocal intonations. On the other side, Barcelona's JMII hits us with "Leo," an uplifting mix of off-kilter Juno sounds, 707 drum hits, and soul vocal samples. Werner Niedermeier adds an atmospheric remix of "In the Sunset," taking Chronophone's original into deeper territory.

Old-skool acid house alert. These tracks were recorded by Jordan Fields in Chicago during the late '80s -- just recently re-discovered on reel-to-reel tapes. As soon as Subwax Excursions heard these beauties, they knew the world needed to have these on vinyl. It all starts off with "Among the Kloudz," which is a very raw and mental analog acid-house track. On the flipside you'll find "Keepin' It Together," a warm, soulful but club-friendly Mr. Fingers, Virgo Four-style track. This EP is for all the true Chicago heads.

Subwax Excursions presents Daren Ager's debut vinyl release. Daren is a very well-known and respected analog synth/modul teacher on the Internet. Having his own YouTube channel with 2.5 million clicks, the label thought it was time to introduce this genius to the vinyl-lovers as well. Influenced by the likes of Drexciya, Model 500, Derrick May and Carl Craig, there is a warm and beautiful Detroit flavor on "Summer in Detroit" and "Halcyon Days" is an acid-house track that harkens The Warehouse in Chicago or The Hacienda in Manchester.

Subwax Excursions is the new sister label of Subwax Bcn. Excursions is all about the journey within electronic music, no fixed genre or style. Stephen Brown is a well-respected producer who has been producing quality music since the mid-'90s with classic releases on labels such as Djax-Up-Beats, Transmat, Scandinavia, Subject Detroit, etc. Here he delivers two great tracks, starting off with "Pablo," which is a hypnotic techno track with bangin' chords. "Playpark" is a more melodic, Detroit-like journey with beautiful synths.
