Somewhere between future soul and electronica, you'll find the eclectic, sophisticated, and thoughtfully constructed sounds of audio-visual live bass collective, Up High Collective. The loosely-knit group of Leuven-based musicians and visual artists, all share the same passion for their craft, along with the feel of authenticity and the sound of imperfection. Solitude, released on Tangram Records, combines instrumental hip-hop and forward-thinking electronica. Razor-sharp pieces of future soul, boppin' from the deceptively light and skippy to whirlpool synth lines and hydraulic sub pressure, all trademarked by a signature lick of R&B gloss and sunken subs with ultra-sparse rhythm architecture. With origins in hip-hop and electronic bass music, Up High Collective made a name for themselves with the 7", Blend, released in 2010. The track found its way on to a compilation put together by tastemaker Lefto for Brownswood and in the years that followed, Up High Collective released numerous EPs and founded their own record label, Tangram Records. Their first release on the label, the What?! EP (2012), was followed by an extensive live tour and over the years they have played at parties put on by music broadcasting platforms like Boiler Room and 22tracks in cities like Vienna, Amsterdam and Brussels. This has seen them gain support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Lefto, Kutmah, Anthony Valadez, Alexander Nut, San Soda, and The Gaslamp Killer. Tangram Records is an independent Belgian-based record label, founded in December 2012. It is curated by Up High Collective and Mophito (Joris Vaes). It is home to Moodprint, Up High Collective, LTGL, Day Fly, Sokoto, and YellowStraps. Printed inner sleeve; Includes download code.

As the first in a series of two-track seven inches, Tangram Records present LTGL. LTGL is a Jamaican-Polish hybrid beat-maker from Belgium. Splatter is a slowly building anthem that takes you on a trip through LTGL's universe, safely returning you home afterwards. The flip features his remix of "Java" by STUFF., probably Belgium's best band of the moment. LTGL turns the original completely inside-out, inserts heavy bass and switches themes more often than you can count.

The Gold Play is a compilation of all Tangram Records related artists to date. Tangram Records is an independent Belgian based record label. It was founded in 2012 by Up High Collective and Mophito to promote a batch of unreleased beats and live-show by Up High. Throughout the years their releases got picked up by Gilles Peterson, Lefto, XLR8R, Boiler Room, Kutmah, among others. Now four years later, Tangram have introduced a wide-range of talented musicians to the world. Without wanting to limit them to a certain genre, their releases are a celebration of electronics and hip-hop. The Gold Play holds six previously unreleased tracks by Up High Collective, Faisal, LTGL, LoneBlue featuring Halibab Matador (aka YellowStraps), Le Motel and Sokoto. Each side of the vinyl ends with a previously released track on Tangram by Day Fly and Moodprint, blending the entire release nicely together. The artwork release is beautifully crafted by Dzia, a graphic artist from Belgium and fine artist in every sense. His creations range from paintings, through sculpture to taxidermy and street works. Comes in a gatefold sleeve.
