Berlin's Grinser returns to Toys For Boys with some deep, multilayered house. Looping Music might imply simplicity and monotony, but these tracks are quite the opposite. "Loop No. 1" is like a butterfly that suddenly reveals fangs and talons, while "When Will It End" is built upon a nuanced, yet commanding beat, with dubby disco elements and a twisted, androgynous voice. Grinser is a master of forceful subtlety -- a compelling paradox for both of your brain's hemispheres.

Belgian coconspirators and Toys For Boys heads Sierra_Sam and Marcus Vector present looming techno with the All Together EP. The moody title track comes in two variations: the piano version highlighted by a relaxed Rhodes lead, and the stripped-down, stark, dubby version. "Mirror" begins with propulsive, rhythmic components, joined by a somber wah-wah melody, which forms into multiple layers of itself, fluttering about like leaves in the wind. On blue vinyl.

One of Belgium's top techno producers, Tom Dazing returns with a hearty dose of club bombs and creepers on his third TFB EP. These tracks are slick and professional, with traces of early '90s rave and acid. From the horny "Red October" to the subdued title track, he provides a diverse array of moods for the thirsty ears of DJs and dancers. Inxec provides a staggering remix in his usual deranged style.

After almost four years of releases and other activities, Toys For Boys Records is proud to present its second compilation, the first DJ mix by France-born, Berlin-based DJ Bloody Mary, one of the leading artists of the genre. Mary has been touring the world with her impressive DJ skills, setting the crowds on fire from New York to Mexico to Paris. Mary chose her favorite tracks from Toys For Boys by Jona, Grinser, Quenum, Sierra_Sam, Marcus Vector, Gerome Sportelli, Jeik, and mixed them with selections from friends' labels (Einmaleins, Sender, Contexterrior, Tuning Spork, Mobilee, Leena, Upon You, Lessizmore, etc.). The result is an always building, techy, groovy flux of music: the perfect companion for your pre- or after-parties. Other artists include: Miss Fitz, Tolga Fidan, Lee Jones, Daniel Dreier, Marco Resmann, Lust Addict, Phage, Sarah Goldfarb, Agnès, Lee Van Dowski, Tom Dazing, Hugo, Pompoelmoessap, Benno Blome, and Michal Ho.

Belgian duo Sierra Sam & Marcus Vector return home to their own Toys For Boys label for another collaborative EP: two thick cuts that connect the dots between techno, house, and electro, plus a remix by Marco Resmann aka Phage. "Slab City" is mellow sci-fi flavored with tribal elements. "Parole" picks up the pace with a slamming electro pulse and hiccupping bounce. The flipside belongs to Resmann's snappy rework of "Parole," which sets itself apart with a unique underwater vibe.

"ToysForBoys co-founder Sierra_Sam teams up with his pal Bloody Mary for the Landscapes EP, featuring two collaborative tracks, plus a remix from Paris's Paul Ritch. Sam and Mary, from Belgium and France respectively, both ditched their homelands in the last few years to settle in Berlin, where they've found a welcoming home for their techno careers. Since releasing on Trapez and co-producing for UR's Suburban Knight, Sam has gone on to co-run and release on the TFB label, as well as releasing productions on Nomor and UMF. He also plays his live PA set around Europe in addition to his residency at Tresor. Bloody Mary has released two EPs for Sender, while maintaining a lucrative DJ schedule across Europe. In the wake of their Spielbank EP for Einmaleins earlier this spring, Sierra_Sam and Bloody Mary return with the fruits of their recent studio efforts. 'Day Light' borrows elements from both electro and tribal and fits them into a snappy, 4/4 techno scheme. 'Night Time' is distinguished by its eerie, ambient glow, with layers of percussion that weave together into a constellation of rhythm. Paul Ritch attempts to steal the show with his vicious remix of 'Day Light.' Like his past releases on Resopal and Get Physical, it's nearly overflowing with energy, driven by staccato snare rolls and a snarling, fuzzy bassline that cuts in and out without warning. After hearing a round of Sierra_Sam vs Bloody Mary, we find that the real winner is whoever gets to experience these tracks in the club! These three audio landscapes will transport the crowd from the dancefloor into a different place entirely. Sam and Mary are continuing their work together for a future release on Contexterrior. Full support from Adam Bayer, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Jay Haze."

"Support from Ricardo Villalobos. Toys For Boys presents the first 12" from Marcus Vector and Lust Addict, following their digital collaborations and solo 12"s for Obsolete and Nomor, featuring two smooth and sleazy originals, plus remixes from Michal Ho and Null.Eins. Brussels-based Marcus Vector has made a splash on the European techno scene, not just as a DJ and producer, but also the co-owner and label manager of Toys For Boys Records. Once again, he teams up with the skillful Lust Addict aka Vernon Bara, whose numerous past productions received support from the likes of DJ Sneak, Brett Johnson and Ralph Lawson. Following their co-productions and remixes released digitally by Immigrant and Playground from Lessizmore, Buffalo marks the duo's vinyl debut. 'Drum Rollin Red' kicks off the EP, an energetic track full of atmosphere, driven by a diverse detailed drum palette, from electro snares to tribal beats. Null.Eins' remix offers a different take, introducing a highly melodic acid bass line to craft a totally different vibe, while still retaining the playful percussive elements from the original version. On the flip side, 'We Love to be Yonce' begins with an extended intro based on crunchy claps and snappy toms, building up until the shimmery synth melody drops in, bringing a housey vibe to the dancefloor. This one shows the duo's ability to create a poppier tune without sounding commercial or compromised. Following last fall's Screw the Coffeemaker album, Zurich's Michal Ho returns with a solid remix, bringing the track more toward the techno end of the spectrum, but still infused with bounce and mischief, and definitely loads of funk."

"The mysterious Sarah Goldfarb (Jean Vincent Luccini) has been raising hell for the last year or so with releases on Dumb Unit, Treibstoff, Curle, and a roof lifting remix for Christian Quast on Obsolete Recordings. However Luccini/Goldfarb has been passionate about house and techno since completing his studies in Cinema in 1994, a year that just a handful of people on the entire planet have any memories of."
