Wilde Calm Records present Omniscient Wildin', the follow-up release to Boonlorm's classic piano-not piano house album, String Figures (SDGWC 1401CD, 2013). A decidedly techno approach was taken for the six-track EP, with Boonlorm setting the master tempo to 130 BPM and utilizing a rugged economy to emphasize the rhythmic and melodic dialog between drums and prepared piano. This percussion discussion quotes the past syntax of Chicago and Detroit, the 20th century avant-garde and the bold new dialects being created for dance floors around the globe. Edition of 400, full-color jackets with artwork by Daniel Davidson.

Wilde Calm Records present a new EP of modern percussion edits from Brooklyn producer Boonlorm. This collection of reworks was started around the same time Boonlorm began recording String Figures, his album of prepared piano house music (SDGWC 1401CD, 2014). It shares a similar sound to String Figures' rich combination of tonal, atonal, and percussive timbres. By adding his raw drum programming to tease out the latent "techno" qualities in these modern percussion opuses, Boonlorm once again pays homage to Chicago, Detroit, and the 20th century avant-garde.

Wilde Calm Records is honored to present the final project with the late Elodie Lauten (1950-2014), a new version of the spiritual club classic "In the Light of the Miracle." The original version was co-written with fellow downtown luminary Arthur Russell in the early 1980s and appeared on his posthumous 1994 album Another Thought. Numerous club-friendly remixes of "In the Light..." were released as promotional white-labels in the 1990s and helped bring this amazing proto-house song to the dancefloor. This version picks up where the white-label remixes left off, as Lauten had always intended to record her own dancefloor version and found a kindred spirit in Brooklyn producer Pocketknife. The track features Lauten on vocals and keys, Nirosta Steel (Steven Hall) on additional vocals, Peter Zummo on trombone, and production and arrangements by Pocketknife. Reworks were done by two long-time fans of Lauten, LA's Gifted & Blessed (Technoindigenous Studies, Wild Oats, Eglo) and Brooklyn's Bryce Hackford (PRAH, DFA). Gifted & Blessed references Lauten's classic post-minimalist compositions with his remix and takes the dancefloor of "Miracle 2" out into the cosmos. Hackford focuses on the instrumental track, extending it way out and roughing it up with heavy Bushwick Body Actualized-vibes. Also includes an a capella version. White vinyl. Artwork by Josh Gurrie. Hand-stamped and numbered edition of 400.

Wilde Calm Records is honored to present new work from the late Elodie Lauten, New York City-based composer and recipient of the 2014 Robert Rauschenberg Award. Lauten had been exploring microtonality and alternative temperament since the early 1980s, first with a Fairlight CMI synthesizer and more recently with the Klio, her custom modular Reaktor software synthesizer. Many Wilde Calm fans will be familiar with Lauten's music from her numerous collaborations with fellow downtown luminary Arthur Russell. Lauten and Russell met through their mutual poet friend Allen Ginsberg and shared a similar sensibility, evident in their spiritual club classic In the Light of the Miracle and Russell's appearance on Lauten's seminal post-minimalist masterwork The Death of Don Juan. This EP includes five remastered selections from Lauten's 2013 album, Transform, and a Wilde Calm remix. Lauten's synth explorations are essential for fans of Laurie Spiegel and Suzanne Ciani. Limited edition of 500 in hand-stamped and numbered silkscreened jackets with full-color insert and liner notes by Jayson Greene. Cover and insert artwork by Josh Gurrie.

"Wilde Calm Records is proud to present Some Say, a recently discovered song from the archive of Arthur Russell. The track was produced and mixed by Arthur in 1985 for a solo project of Steven Hall's that was originally intended for release on Rough Trade Records. Legendary disco producer Bob Blank recorded and engineered the project at his Connecticut-based studio. 'Some Say' features Arthur's classic cello basslines, cracking boom bap drums and Steven's floating vocals and synth pads. In true Arthur fashion, the song abruptly stutters, slinks and lurches halfway through for Steven to complete his Buddhist pop mantra. The B-side features an extended rework of 'Some Say' by Pocketknife using Arthur's BOSS Dr. Rhythm DR-55 drum machine." Last available copies.
